Seeing Another Side

It was a quick decision to stop the mystery woman and his body moved on autopilot in front of her before he took it in. Yet, the second he moved in front of her he noticed that something was wrong. Their previous teasing atmosphere had complete disappeared leaving only a tense version behind. Her reaction to his quick motion did not escape his eyes either, her entire body language screamed fear. In addition, her eyes had glazed over as if she was lost in her memories. It was a bit of shock to him as she had stood so confidently in front of him, so many emotions were expressed but fear was not one of them. The body language was subtle but was the most 'real' reaction he had gotten from her thus far. This sort of movement or defence meant that she was used to violence or had been traumatized before by it. It was not uncommon for parents or families to secretly abuse their children while maintaining a harmonious facade to others. From the look of the skin he could see she was fair and soft, as if she had not worked a day in her life. For that reason alone he could vouch that she was a spoiled little lady of the family but this action of hers made him doubt his previous assumption.

Obviously their conversation prior to this gave him more insight into her where he did hold a tiny bit of respect alongside irritation for her. However, this side of her added a fragility he did not expect. It almost made him believe that he was a smaller and more vulnerable from his previous calculating opinion. He almost felt a bit of pity for her but quickly dismissed it from his mind. In families like that you win some and lose some, by the bags of high end products she had there was somewhat of a payout to her supposed abuse. That is, if she had been abused he could not be sure. Her family could be the perpetrator but it could also be their friends, boyfriend, etcetera. It was not if he did not understand the pain and the need to help the other but how much could he do? A lesson he had learned from very young was that only the strong could survive and only you yourself can be the answer to your problems. Be that in murdering your aggressor and ending it all or strategically building your strength and destroying them from within. The weak will only focus on their pain and begin to accept their fate, for that he could not bother to help them. He was a stranger first and foremost and judging by what he knew of this mysterious woman his help would be strongly rejected.

Though a bit of curiosity was in his mind after all, he had no desire to ask but he also wanted to know what prompted this reaction from a seemingly fierce woman. It was a big juxtaposition after all and he was a man of simple curiosity. Still he would not ask, he did no expect to see this woman again more than once. She would come to reclaim her debt and their relationship of debt would be completed. There was only a short pause as his mind raced through all of his thoughts, which gave the woman enough time to come to. He could see the moment she realized that something was wrong and she had given herself away. She looked directly into his eyes with a more dead and serious expression as if she would hurt him depending on his answer. The level of emptiness added another layer of shock into his analysis of her.

"What do you want." Even her voice was devoid of emotion as she spoke. He took this behaviour and added it to the file of her he had growing in his mind before speaking up again. Their stance meant that she knew that he was aware of her reaction but had no intention of speaking on the matter - which was fine with him.

"Your name."

"My name...?" Her serious aura broke for a second as she processed his words. Ignoring whatever just happened, he still needed her name. He'd rather not research her or spend more time than necessary finding her identity. Her stating her name would make things easier for when she came to reclaim her debt as she had so previously stated.

It was almost as if his comment brought her back to her normal nasty demeanour. He did appreciate how quick she was to bite back once angered. Even if she was slightly afraid of whatever she remembered she jumped right back up with her irritating comments. "I didn't think you would be so interested in me, what? Never had a woman talk to you like this before? Have I caught your eye?"

His eyes almost twitched, he just had a woman fight to become his blind date but it seemed that 'no woman talked to him' in such a manner. As if that was enough to drag his interest for more than this moment. It was true that he had never met someone like her before but there were similar people to her that he had followed through on his threats with. He still did not know why he had given her so much of his time and energy for this conversation, even now he allowed her snarky comments easily. "....your name. For a woman who claims to be so smart you are forgetting a key point."

"And for a man who claims to be so smart you are missing the whole point. I will not be giving my name, if so, what was the point of this fabric on my face? I don't need to give you my name to get my favour, when I need it I will appear. Of course if you give me 12 million before that, whichever comes first."

One more of his POV for the convo! I'll be switching it back to her POV for the next soon and the story will resume. I didn't update this week to prep for a mini mass release today (3 incl this one) will be staggered out today.
