1 Chapter 1 - Otherworldly

I wake up, clutching my throbbing head. Confusion overtook my senses as I look everywhere. What is this place? Last I remember, I fell in a hole. Fuck. My head hurts like hell.

I stand up. Looking around, I see nothing. A world of nothingness? Is this heaven? Hell? What and who am I? Questioning my existence, a ray of light shot down in front of me. Following the light, an old lady descended. I stood still, not knowing what to do.

The old lady greeted me and introduced herself. Her name is Delilah, also known as the Mother of Gods. She came here because of me and answered many of my questions.

She said that I 'died' in my previous world and my soul wandered here by accident, giving me a consciousness. I asked her who I was and she replied with 『Sadly, I do not know who you were as the world you lived in was governed by a different 「 Familia」.』

She then proceeded to explain what a 「 Familia 」 is. A 「 Familia」 is a group of gods that acts like a family. It is compromised of a Father, Mother, and a lot of Childrens. It sounds like a normal family, but they aren't really related by blood, but rather, mana.

Mana is the source of life for higher beings and an energy source for lower beings. She then proceeded to tell me that since I wandered here, I can no longer be sent back to my old world. I felt sad, but that's it. I had no memories over there and it hurts just remembering pieces of it. I hate pain and I will avoid it given the chance.

Delila then said that she will allow me to reincarnate into their world. I agreed, and she asked if I can help them of their problems. I asked what it was and was shocked. She explained to me what this new world is. The World of Seed. Hearing her words, I've come to a conclusion that it's a fantasy world with different races, magic, dragons, and dimensions. She then told me of their problems. A Catastrophe. Twenty years after I'll be born, war will engulf the Spirit World. This war will affect the many dimensions and will greatly affect the Overworld, or the Surface.

I asked why they won't take action themselves and she explained. 『Us Gods can not personally intervene on the world we govern. Doing so may invoke the other 「Famila's」wrath.』

I nodded my head and asked them what I could do. She said that they would provide me with [Blessings] and [Unique Skills]. I asked what they would do and she said it will depend on what I choose.

She now let me chose for a[Blessing]. Something popped up infront of me which made me jump. She apologized and explained what it was. The [Glaze] is what they call it. It's a system given by the gods to the mortals providing them aid against the 「 Fallen」 , a kind of God that likes discord and also will be the cause of the upcoming war.

『You may only choose three [Blessings] and seven [Unique Skills], but worry not. You will be able to choose more or upgrade your current ones as you absorb essences and increase your " Level ". You can absorb these essence by [Extermination] or [Tasks]. The 「 Adventurer's Guild」 may prove useful to these. You can also absorb these essence as you expand your knowledge via [Aquisition]. This is the scholar's path and the 「 Mage's Order」 will be greatly beneficial for it. One can also earn essence by [Barter]. The 「Commerce Guild」 is also plenty useful. There are other groups, but these are the main groups.』

Rejuvenating Whisper ｣

There were a lot of choices. I was overwhelmed by their numbers. How could I decide what to choose? What should I become? A tanky knight? A powerful wizard? Or perhaps a tranquil druid? I have no idea!

After who knows how many hours of pondering, I finally made my choice. I'll focus on getting skills that will make my life comfortable and a blessing that enhances my strength greatly. I told Delilah that I was done choosing and she proceeded to tell me the different knowledge about the world.

I sent my farewells and jumped down the pond-like thing Delilah created. What greeted me was a sight I could never forget. A sea of trees and mountains, twisting rivers leading to the endless ocean, hordes and packs of animals living their honest life, and a beautiful sun that has just risen.

Looking down, I was terrified. I'm floating in the air. Confused, I heard someone hum. I turned around and saw a person. A beautiful lady with her long crimson hair swaying about. Is this my mother? Enchanted by her beauty, I wondered how I look like myself.

A long time of floating, the beautiful woman spoke. 『There, there. Did you have a nightmare, Lake? You just woke up so you might be hungry. Time to head down now.』 She patted my head and wiped my tears away. I was crying?

She just called me Lake. That must be my name, huh. It's a nice name, almost as good as my previous one even though I don't remember it at all.

After flying through the forest, we arrived at a clearing. A town, or should I say, a village. It's a small village, containing only 23 buildings. Its walls are made out of hardwood and there's a path leading both north and south.

The woman landed down in front of a house. It looks nice. Inside, it's pretty well decorated. We entered a room with a crib and she put me inside it. This is my room, I think. I looked around and saw a double bed to my right. I share a room with my parents.

After that, I had a normal life as an infant. Years passed by and I'm now five years old. I was able to walk at two years old, but my mother won't let me outside the house. Now, I'm five and she promised that I could go outside now, alone. I also learned about my mother's name, Rose, and the village I'm living in, Fourei Village, located in the continent Yestar in the Greenheart Kingdom on the edge of the Forest of Dreams.

I asked my mother about my father, but when I metioned it, she just gave me a melancholic smile. I'll just wait for the time mother tells me about it.

I left my house for the first time without my mother accompanying me. I set my eyes to the library and marched. I was greeted by the villagers and I also greeted them back, then I bumped into someone. 『Ouch! Be careful where you're going, Lake!』

A girl two years older than me, Lily, exclaimed. Seven years old and she's becoming prettier everyday. Her black wavy hair that's left untied gives her a carefree aura. Wearing a dress that she only wears during a special occasion.

I apologized and asked what the occasion is. She said it's her father's birthday and that she was just returning home after buying her father a present. I told her that I'll be at their house should she want me to and bid my farewell.

I stopped by the bakery and bought some bread with the coins mother gave me. I arrived at the library and finished eating my bread, wiping the crumbs off me. Entering the library, I was amazed of how many books there were. I picked a book about the different races of this world and decided I'll borrow and bring it home. I paid for the book's rent and wrote my name on the sheet of paper. 'Lake'.

I never knew why I didn't have a last name, but it seems that not everyone has them.

I once again chose a book with an interesting title called the 'Catastrophic War of the Worlds'. I went and took a seat at a table and read it, slowly.
