6 Chapter 6: First meeting

Life is all about unwelcome events. and disliked as well. At least those were the thoughts of all the witches and vampires standing in the form of two teams who were glaring at each other.

They all were standing in front of the north forest which lead to the mysterious and abandoned ages, the north castle.

The vampires in the lead of Duke Charles and William and witches under command of Elizabeth and Antony had reached there just a moment ago. Seven witches were sitting and standing on the left, frowning and looking so not pleased with the other side where stood five vampires, also giving death glares to witches.

Seriously, how can the destined enemies work together?

All were giving death glares to each other and amidst all, there stood Jade looking at the deep north forest.

" So you are telling us to reach the north castle, through the north forest and not through speed and magic, but the " lost forest"?" She uttered what she had understood of Elizabeth.

Antony nodded.

"Together?" Lucas stated, unpleased. April scoffed.

"Crazy!"

"With all due respect, dear mentors, would you mind if I ask a very legit question at this very precise moment?" said Emily with all due respect.

"Hmmm?"

"Why? Oh, why this alliance? I was happy with all the chaos and enemy life before?" she said, all smiley, that would make you mad for sure.

"Well," started Charles, all serious. "I was quite bored so I wanted you all to finish each other off. It was tiresome to see the longing of killing each other from afar. You all can enjoy as much as you want and start whenever. Oh but do inform me beforehand that I'd prepare some popcorn", and were we expecting something really serious from him?

Elizabeth looked at him, displeased.

"Werewolves are crossing the lines like always and they had started invading our territories as well. Not so long ago we found cases of some witches and vampires being killed in the same manner. We practically don't know if these are rogues or the packs messing around but it still affects our parties. To get a hold of the situation, elders decided that we form an alliance and work as one team to shove off those bloody wolf bastards." William said seriously without wasting any time. his words were just like his. straightforward and work-related.

"What do you want from us?" April said. Annoyed. She hated it the most before coming here.

"We want you to show the best you've got and start training together. Teamwork. This is all that we need.", Elizabeth said.

"Impossible...", Lucas chuckled. And then looked toward Elizabeth

"You seriously think I would be training with these wicked people? Not to mention, the ones because of whom we vampires are living with a curse on us?"

"Exactly! Why us great witches would be accompanying you, low-life vampires?"

"You are calling for your death right now," Emily said...smiling even then.

"Beware vamp. I might curse you to drink your blood and finish yourself." Anna warned.

"Oh...or I might sink my fangs in you to drink yours. they say witches have the tastiest blood of all", said a vamp Sophie. She sounded like Charles...such a tease.

"That is enough for now", warned Antony.

"No kids go on. I'm enjoying the game!" Charles said. It was just his cup of tea.

"Charles, mind getting serious or I may complain to Owen?" Elizabeth gave a stare.

"Alright you all, I want all of you to behave. I hope you won't let down your teachers with your behavior!" There was something in her voice that was enough to discipline them. However the circumstances might have turned, they were the special groups and best pupils of their states.

"You all have already shaped yourself with the best versions. magic, speed, techniques, and tricks, You all have learned a lot and reached the expert level. Even though you all are the best, we want the best of the best out of all this. and that is when you will use all your expertise together. As in a team."

"No need for extra training. Let's start. Your first task, as a team, is to reach the north castle, all of you, together."

"If anyone of you reached alone, he or she will be sent back, and not only that, they will also be eliminated from the special groups."

Before they could protest, this last punishment was enough to keep their mouth shut. So now, to make things work, would the mentors threaten their high rank?

" As special Groups, I don't think it will take more than a day"

All of them scoffed and frowned. So now, they were looking down on their skills as well.

"Oh please, don't underestimate us!"

" I do hope, you all make it out together. Any questions?"

No one bothered. It wasn't a difficult task though. Just a forest and those supernatural beings. Piece of cake!

Jade raised her hand.

"Yes, jade?"

"I read about this forest in books. And it said that, once you lose track, there is no way out, and once a lost one is never found back. There was also a thing about illusions and powers"

"Such a fantasy!" Emily thought aloud.

"What a joke!" April scoffed.

"Well, we haven't been here for a long time. Maybe a wolf might accompany you. Or anything dangerous. That is what your test is. Stay together. Team up and no harm will be done to you. Wish you all good luck!"

After saying that, all four of them vanished. And there stood, a bunch of vampires and witches glaring into each other's souls. Not having a second of each other's presence. and in front of them, stood " the lost forest". Their journey from enemies to allies was about to start. Even though, they had zero intentions to abide by it.
