5 Chapter 5: Emerald; Stone of successful love (エメラルド)

After dropping Jade Mccnath in the library, Owen went straight to his office.

Owen sat down on his chair with elbows on the desk and hands laced in each other.

(She said she was a witch. Incapable to cast spells...but does she not know that she wasn't???

Yes. She wasn't a full witch. Even I could feel it. Her scent, it was not just of a witch. She was more than what she looked.)

He took a sigh and rested his head against the chair.

"Guess I found her, lady Fiona...the one with whom my fate is entangled...someone, not a vampire...someone, not a witch...more than them...", he said to himself. More like murmuring...so that even the walls might not hear him.

Jade Mccnath, do you not know who you are?

They were standing in the main library and William was giving them descriptions of coaching and training. Elizabeth was getting along well, while Antony was not having any of the things being said. But he was bound, for the BETTERMENT. And then there was Charles...annoying Antony and Elizabeth just by looking and them, all smirky.

(This vampire seriously had no shame), thought Elizabeth.

"Our main goal is to make them corporate. Make the teamwork work," said William

As they were talking about the training and stuff, Charles's attention was diverted towards the door where a young girl was peaking inside and looking at the books with her mouth open. His eyes narrowed as he found something strange about her. Who was she and how did she get in?

A second later, he was standing beside her. Jade got surprised and took a step back.

" Mind introducing yourself invader?" asked Charles.

"Jade?? What are you doing here?" Elizabeth asked, astonished. Charles looked at her.

"Did you call her over? You know you can't. Not now!", Inquired William.

"I'm sorry William, I didn't. She is a witch...", Elizabeth explained.

"And don't worry I'm disabled. It'll cause no harm", Jade added while approaching them and giving them a bow.

"Hello everyone …this is Jade Mccnath, who is turning 21 this year and still can't cast spells. A wow for me...and Antony, you called for me?" she said and looked at him. Antony looked confused.

"No, I didn't..."

"Wait but April said you did..." Jade said with doe eyes. Antony and Elizabeth sighed.

"I can't believe you fell for her trick again. She lied to you jade, to make a fool of you." as Elizabeth revealed very much information, Jade's face became unhappy. She looked so disappointed in herself.

"Ahh...poor me.."

"How come you are still alive jade?" asked Charles...everyone looked at him and then at Jade, in confusion.

"Even though you are wearing a perfume, your scent is still strong enough to make the weak vampires go crazy for your blood," added William...and then he noticed it...and looked at her neck was bruised.

"Jade what happened??"Elizabeth asked.

"Oh, no need to worry. when I entered the castle, I asked for Antony and then the guard vampire took me I don't know where and then he tried to kill me..."

"He what???", uttered Antony, angrily, "So this is what alliance is? We had our witch get killed by your vampire?" he said harshly.

"Antony calm down! Hear me out!" Jade said. Antony looked at her

"Another vampire rescued me!"

"Who?"

"Well...umm...how to say...he had this powerful aura...he was handsome...and he had purple eyes...but I don't know his name..." Jade tried describing him. They all knew who he was.

"So peculiar for Owen to just jump in to save a witch..." murmured Charles.

"And the perfume you are wearing?" Elizabeth continued...

"Oh yeah, he gave it to me," Jade said, all smiley.

(Emerald, the stone of successful love, opens and nurtures the heart. What do you mean Owen?) thought Elizabeth and then looked at jade, who was now talking to Charles and William and Antony wasn't liking it. She was his best pupil. Although she was disabled. Still, she was good enough.

Just then, Owen entered the library. All of them turned their faces to him.

"Oh...guys he is the one I was talking about," she said to all of them...all excitedly.

"You're here his Highness!" said William seriously...jade looked at him with shock.

"Jade. He is Owen Liam, the royal vampire king." Elizabeth explained and Jade's jaws drop. So all that she was talking about...was a king? second-hand embarrassment was permanent for Jade by now.

She looked at Owen, hesitatingly. He passed a warm smile to her. Jade bit her lips and looked at her side, all embarrassed.

"Elizabeth? Can I have a word with you?" he said and Elizabeth nodded...then he looked at Charles.

"Charles, make the preparations in the north castle. Training start in one day."

"Wasn't it two??? Ahh, this vampire..." Charles said, all annoyed. He hated to work so much. Then he looked at William with those doe eyes saying please do it for me.

"You know I love you!" he said to William while holding his hand.

"We don't love!" William said with a poker face and moved away and out from there.

"We should go back as well," Antony said to still-standing Jade

"Huh??? aa...yes... let's go!" she said...

(wow...so he was a vampire king...glad I'm still alive)

She sighed in relief.

In Owen's office...he was standing beside the large window...looking at the black clouds hovering over the sky...Elizabeth standing at some distance.

"Who is she Elizabeth??"

"A witch!" she said looking straight into his eyes.

"You know and I know as well, who she is!"

"I guess you are mistaken..."

"Oh, I'm not!"

"Why are you even interested?" inquired Elizabeth.

He shrugged his shoulders.

"Just because-"

Elizabeth looked at him, trying to figure it out. She wished it not to be that, but not all your wishes come true.

"She will be someone who is just not one of you...more than that...a special one. Someone your fate lies with. Someone whom you are cursed to be with...Yes, Owen...you too. But, I'm afraid you will hurt her", lady Fiona's voice was echoing around him as he heard the roaring clouds and thundering light.

And Elizabeth...even knowing tried not to know. Giving an emerald scent was enough of a signal.
