7 CHAPTER SEVEN - PAROMITA

As written in Chapter 4, a girl's educational life is in stages. after the University level in a girl's life, Family, friends and well wishers begins to look to Her for marriage, Suitors begins to visit requesting for Her hand in marriage.
Having graduated from the university, Paromita's real world has just begun. She applied to companies and offices for Jobs and also helped out at home since Her Sister was now married.
This Morning Paromita has just finished all Her house chores with the help of Poorva, their housemaid, and was relaxing.
Unlike Arjun, Paromita's family was just an average Indian family not too rich and not too poor. Her father was able to provide food for the family daily as His salary was enough to takecare of the house expenses, Paromita's studies and Sasmita's Store rent. Sasmita was a retailer who sell food stuffs and beverages. Having been a housewife for years due to taking care of sarojini and paromita now that they are all grown up, she decided to start up a business to support Her family.
Even though Paromita was a sophisticated classy young lady, She still was still down to earth and happy with whatever Her family gives Her.
Arjun having returned back to India, Paromita was very excited to meet up with Him, they both Fixed a date at Savitri Restaurant, one of the five star hotels in Maharashtra.
"My Love, this is a very lovely place" Paromita said smiling with so much happiness and looking around the restaurant as they walked in with paromita dressed in a Blue Saree and White Sleeveless blouse and Arjun on Black suit.
"You deserve more My love" Arjun said smiling and held paromita at the waist as they walked into the Restaurant and took a sit at the back seat.
A man in black trouser and white shirt with bow tie came to them saying
"Welcome to Savitri's , What would You like to order"
"I will have red wine and Panpuri" Arjun said to the waiter and then turned to Paromita and asked
"My Love, what do You want to order?"
"uhmmmmm.....Me...I will uhmmm....I..will have uhm....Rice....yah....Rice and Keer with Water" Paromita said looking tensed
"Ok, If You would excused Me" The waiter said with etiquette.
"My Love, You look uncomfortable, don't You like it here" Arjun asked
"Of course I do, its just that I haven't been to this kind of place before" Paromita said laughing
"Dont worry, You will be used to it very soon" Arjun assured Her holding Her hand.
"Hmmmmmm" Paromita took a deep breath smiling
After the waitress served them, as they ate their food with drinks Arjun urged Paromita to drink the red wine from His cup and ordered Her to finish all the wine in the cup as She drunk the wine She noticed She had taken something into Her mouth which was not wine but metal. Thus She quickly brought the metal out of Her mouth with curiousity to see what it was
"O! My God whats this" She said and hurriedly bringing out the metal from Her mouth then She exclaimed in surprise
"O!! My God!!!"
Arjum collected the ring from Her smiling and then said
"Paro, Ever since I met You the day I came to visit a friend at Your school, I always knew I was in love with You. you are the woman I want to spend the rest of My life with. You are My all. You are My life. I promise not to love any other Woman in this world except You. Please paro, Will You marry Me? "
"What!!!!!!!" Paromita explained still in astonishment
"Mujise shaaadi karogi Miss Paromita Sengupta? Please do Me the Honour of Being My Wife, Please Become Mrs Paromita Sengupta Deshmukh" Arjun said with passion in His eyes
"Yes!!!!!! Yes!!!!!! I will be Your wife.....Yes I will Marry You" Paromita Said with tears in Her Eyes and still in astonishment.
Both of them stood up and hugged each other.
"I would love to formally take You home and introduce You to My parents as My future wife" Arjun said smiling and holding Paromita close to Him
"awwwww...Thank You so much My Love" Paromita said Wiping her tears in happiness
They both finished up their food and left for Arjun"s home to see Arjun's parents for the introduction.

The deshmukh mansion is located on Radhakrishna Estate, Juhu, Mumbai. While Paromita lived in Pune, Although Arjun's native was Pune, Arjun lives in Mumbai and was from a very rich home. the Deshmukh mansion covered Plot 1-3 on Radhakrishna estate. it was a Three story building estate. The Maids worked Every now and then, the Gardners, cook, security and cleaners were always on duty. Arjun's mother, Tejashwini was a full time house wife and a rich-Snob who dislike Poor and average people, It just so happens to be that Her daughter Vandita is also like Her and for this reason, Paromita was going to have a hard time.
"Mum!!!! Am home" Arjun called out His Mum
"Yes!!! My Child, Am coming" Tejashwini answered from upstairs
"Pls come with My sisters I need to introduce You all to someone"
"Ok, We are coming" Vandita Shouted from Upstairs
Tejashwini, Vandita and shalini hurriedly came down stars. Tejashwini was putting on a Cream colour expensive saree designed with precious stones, Vandita was putting on a white and red expensive saree and shalini was putting on a blue and pink half saree.
"Good Afternoon Mum" Arjun said touching tejashwini's feet in respect
"Bless You My child" Tejashwini said touching Her Son's head as sign of blessing while fixing Her eyes on Paromita.
"Suprovat Maa" Paromita greeted Tejashwini Touching Her feet just like Arjun
"We are not Bengali" Tejashwini said shifting Her leg away from Paromita so as not to let Her touch Her feet.
"Sorry Ma'am" Paromita said withdrawing Her hands and getting up.
"Mother, Why? Paro was just seeking Your blessing" Arjun said looking astonished at His mother's behavior
"Hmmmm.....Son...." Tejashwini gave a wicked smile and looking at Her Son.
"As a Cat, when You are in the midst of tigers act like a tiger not like a cat, Don't come to a Marathi household with Your Bengali behaviour its already obvious that You look like them so please stop acting the I am proud to be a Bengali girl thing " Vandita said snapping at Paromita and Looking at Her from head to toe.
"Vandu!!!! what's Your problem" Shalini hushed at Vandita and turning to paromita Shalini said
"Am so sorry about this paro, Please forgive My Mother and Sister, It seems they woke up on the Wrong side of the bed" Shalini said trying to be funny to cheer paromita up
"Shalini!!!!" Tejashwini interrupted
"Sorry Maa" Shalini apologized
They all sat down to listed to the reason Arjun summoned them
"Maa, I Have an announcement to make, I know Babu is not here but I will make the announcement anyways, I and Paromita are engaged and will soon be getting married" Arjun said happily with smiling paromita.
"What!!!!!!!" Vandita and Tejashwini chorused
"Oh My Gosh!!!!!! Bhaiyya am so happy for You and Paro. so, very soon I will be having a new sister, Since vandu didi got married, it has been really hard staying all alone here, Am so happy" Shalini said as She came and sat near paromita and they both hugged each other.
"Congratulation You both. So the Bengali girl is going to be My sister inlaw after all" Vandita said looking pissed off.
"Congratulations Son, I hope You don't regret Your decisions after all" Tejashwini said standing up and left and Vandita followed Her.
" Arjun, It seems Your Sister and mother doesn't like Me" Paromita said looking troubled
"Paro....Like I said, they just had a bad day today, You know, maybe Vandu had a fight with Her husband before coming here" Shalini Said laughing
"Hahahahahaha" Paromita and Arjun Laughed
"My Love, Don't worry You still have Me, Shalini and Dad" Arjun assured Paromita holding Her hands.
"Yes!!, And don't worry, We won't just be Sister In Law We would be BFFs " Shalini said and winked at paromita
"Awwwww.....Thank you so much Shalini" Paromita said and turning to Arjun She added
"My Love Your little Sister, Shalini, is so sweet"
"Yeah She is, She calls Her self Miss Irresistable" Arjun Said Laughing
"Bhai!!!! why did You tell paro didi My Secret name" Shalini said Laughing and tapped Arjun on the lap and the trio Laughed hardly.

it was 8pm and Paromita had just returned home from Mumbai. Her Father and Mother had already had dinner and were both watching soap opera on the TV while their Housemaid Poorva was tiding up the Kitchen for the night.
"Namaste Maa, Namaste Baba" Paromita said walking in and looking very tired.
"Namaste dear" They both chorused
"Angel, what kept You out so late" Sasmita asked Paromita
"Yes dear, why are You just coming back by this time" Navodit Asked
"I have a surprise for You both" Paromita said happily
" What is it dear" Her parents chorused
Paromita came and sat beside Her parents and raised Her left finger flaunting Her engagement ring in front of Her parents.
"Woooooow congratulations dear" Sasmita said Happily
"woooooow My darling, We are so happy for You" Navodit said paromita hugged Her parents. it was a moment of Joy for the family as very soon the second daughter of Senguptas will be given out in marriage. No joy could equal the joy that they all felt at that moment.
