2 The prophecy

Selene is a goddess born from the Titan Hyperion and Theia. Others born from Hyperion and Theia are: The sun god Helios and Eos, the goddess of dawn.

If Artemis represents the crescent moon and purity, while Hecate represents the fading moon and aging, Selene represents the full moon and maturity.

The most famous story about her is her "love" story with the human Endymion. After Selene fell in love with Endymion at first sight, she was afraid of Endymion growing old as a human.

Therefore, she asked Zeus, the king of gods, to have Endymion sleep forever without aging or dying. After Endymion fell asleep, Selene had 50 daughters with him.

"Is that, actually true...?"

But when she had her 51st child, she had a dream. The dream was about a boy running somewhere. At his side, was something of a human's shape that she couldn't see well, but it wore a leather of a boar.

Selene, not thinking that it was just a normal dream, went to the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. However, the prophecy she received there had her in total shock.

"The boy in your belly will later grow up to be loved by all gods and can die as a human. And if he chooses to live as a human, he will marry one who is like a beast."

"Ma-ma-ma-MARRY A BEAST?!"

Selene fell into total shock. He'll die as a HUMAN, and he'll marry a beast, not even human? Her face paled whiter than snow after hearing the prophecy.

-This was the start of the tales of Eschios. Regardless of Selene's fear, the baby was born. The baby later grew to have the same color of hair as her.

Selene named her only son 'Eschios'. Looking at her sleeping son, she feared the prophecy of him marrying a beast.

"What... What should I do..? How..."

Selene thought all night about the prophecy. She knows, no one, even gods, can escape fate. Even Zeus, the king of gods, couldn't escape fate.

She hated that her son will be marrying a beast, but she detested the idea of him dying as a pathetic human. As she was thinking, the baby opened his eyes and thought to himself.

'Ah... The hell is this place...?'
