37.Unusual Gathering 4

The dragon leaving his eyes from Arturia finally acknowledged the three kings. They lost the momentum which previously possessed by them. But like a passing fancy, it simply laid beside Arturia throne giving her an aura of a monster itself.

She eyed them disinterestedly while she cuddled with her dragon,

"Lancelot, it seems that my dear dragon has lost quite a bit of his appetite," She said in a loving manner as if the banquet itself was a farce to her,

"Ah, the last time it did have his feast in Riveria plains" He spoke with an eery smile on his face almost giving off the feeling of splitting it entirely.

The knights themselves also smirked. The three kings and their entourage, who before looked down on her, now had turned pale. The dragon opened one of his eyes as he looked at the Alexandria, Ethruis and Cheshire.

"Oh, it seems he is delighted for having someone give him a chance for a feast. Percival, Gawain who do you think should fill my beloved dragon request. After all, don't you feel sorry for this poor thing" The smile on her face, making each and everyone take a step back on their approach.

The image of a tyrant was now, seething before them. Her eyes licked over their form, making them tremble in fright.

"Chesire, Alexandria and Ethrius. France, Persia or Rome?" The dragon growled fiercely at them awaiting his meal.

"Your majesty, this one feels that this question should be directed on the individuals themselves, after all, they were the one to declare war on us."

"And we accepted as well. It just remains to be seen who is the first sacrifice. Don't you agree, Ainz?"

The words went through their minds. Ainz was the name of the rivalling god of Rome. If that dragon was that god than by no means any of them would win against him.

Fighting a dragon is suicidal and even more if it was a deity himself.

"What do you think, Ainz? Who is more worthy for your feast?" she said with a boisterous laugh bringing fear upon their hearts. It was like seeing an expressionless individual suddenly expresses themselves wholeheartedly. For them, it felt like madness encompassing the entirety of this banquet.

"Arthur..." Cherise seeing the full extent of the grand picture that could unfold, decided to take back his words but Arthur, himself was lost in his own world. Forbidding, any of them to take their words back,

She whispered at the dragon's ears however it still was meant for their ears as well, " Choose Persia, that bastard has annoyed me, long enough..."

"Rome is also fine...at least that will get them off their high horses"

Suddenly a fireball was thrown towards Alexandria. With his blade and battle-honed body, he immediately countered it but...

"Perisa...it is, then" Fear gripped his heart. From his experience, Alexandria knew that the dragon was playing him. The fireball, the dragon threw nonchalantly, he was barely able to counter it. Seeing it in action, brought dread on his feet.

'Just who did we pick a fight against'

The words going on the minds of all three kings.

A few days later:

Dreams, the aspect of humanity forever riddled with mystery. She always had dreams of either her soldiers dying or being killed in this life but now the dream she had was different. It was alien to her for having this dream.

The dream portrayed, Ainz in his full glory. Sometimes, he wore the same armour as his knight self when he helped some helpless people out or times when others boisterously sang his praises. The dreams shifted once more showing a grand spectacle, encased in thousands of markings, surrounding him, he stood before a grand army. The moment the spell came to a realization, the plains became desolate.

She should have felt fear or something for them but strangely none of it happened. After all, she could feel his emotions as well and his reluctance for this action. But for the safety of his people, he had to show force to minimize the number of people who would stand against him in the future.

The scenario now showed a girl with a bow in her back following the king. The image, again, moved to show a mirror image of herself,

The disappointment and jealousy in its eyes startled her for a brief moment. Disappointed on her methods, jealousy for making it further than her other counterparts. She could understand it very well and so she did the most logical thing herself.

Getting close to her other self, she slowly started to strangle her, little by little, removing that shadow of her existence entirely. Her loss, fear, despair all stood before her taunting, the more force she put, the more it laughed, slowly morphing into her own image.

Suddenly, the image was gone as she fell from her bed. Seeing as if it were a horrible dream, she went to wash, herself. But the mark in her neck once more, made her think on how much of her dream was real?
