7 Chapter 6: Lancelot

A man with dark amour stood within a void until a bright light appeared.

"Lancelot?" spoke a soft and kind voice.

The dark knight dragged his feet as he walked toward the light.

"Lancelot, where are you?" the voice spoke again.

The knight reached out to the light while his armour began to creak.

"Lancelot?" the voice spoke again.

When the knight reached the light, he saw a beautiful maiden who wore nuns clothing.

"Guinevere!" Lancelot spoke with a horse voice.

The maiden turned to Lancelot with a bloodied face.

"Where were you, Lancelot?" the maiden spoke in a corrupted voice as blood down her face.

"BERSERKER!" yelled an insufferable voice.

Lancelot groaned in annoyance before he teleported to his master's side.

Lancelot's master pointed forward. He followed the direction of his master's finger. Lancelot's eyes met with the back of a person who wore a blue tracksuit.

"KILL HIM!" Lancelot's master ordered.

Lancelot marched forward as he materialized his blade. Lancelot lifted his blade over his head. When Lancelot swung down his sword, he stopped himself.

It couldn't be, could it?

A soft expression that complemented with a pair of dazzling eyes. Skin that seemed smooth as silk. Hair that was wild yet tamed at the same time. Facial features that perfectly matched with the words adorable and lewd.

It couldn't be, it can't be.

"Guinevere..." Lancelot said with a horse voice.

"My name is Jade Quinn. I'm not Guinevere." the person spoke with a soft voice.

Lancelot stared for a long moment. He noticed the person's other features. They're right eye was dark indigo, while they're left eye was light maroon. They had rich brown hair that faded into black. The person possessed a small body, but they were taller than the average person.

They are not Guinevere, but they share the same face.

Lancelot placed his gauntlet over the person called Jade's head. Jade groaned, but they did not push away. When Jade removed Lancelot's hand, they glimpsed behind him. Lancelot turned his head and saw an obnoxious blue-haired servant that held his master. The servant yawned before they met eye contact with someone. Lancelot followed the servant's gaze. The servant's gaze was aimed toward Jade.

Why was that servant staring at Jade? Lancelot questioned himself.

Jade soon exited the room. Lancelot turned to the blue-haired servant as he followed him out of the cafeteria. Lancelot continued to follow before the servant spoke to him.

"So~ About that janitor girl back there." the blue-haired mentioned.

"Did she really look like your precious Guinevere?" the servant smirked.

Why does that concern you? Lancelot thought before he briefly spoke.

"She did."

"Could you explain why?" the servant smirked again.

Lancelot stood in place.

Why was he asking these questions? Was this servant smitten by Jade? Could Lancelot blame him? Wouldn't anyone be taken by some who shared the same face as the most beautiful maiden who walked on earth?

Even if that weren't the case, Lancelot refused to allow this blue-haired anywhere near Jade. Lancelot took his master as he left the scene before he said.

Lancelot answered. "They shared the same face,"

Jade walked down Chaldea's halls while Lancelot inaudibly followed behind. Lancelot kept himself in materialized form, as not to be caught. Until Jade returned to their room or until Lancelot's master summoned him, Lancelot pursued Jade. It began difficult when Lancelot pursued Jade. However, it became easier when Lancelot figured Jade's working schedule.

Some people would say Lancelot's movements would be considered stalking. But to Lancelot, he was a mere observer, an overseer, an protector. Lancelot could not know when that blue-haired servant would attempt to flirt with Jade.

Jade woke up early in the morning and worked late at night. Jade was an industrious person. Lancelot admired that about Jade.

On one particular day, Jade entered the storage room and gathered ingredients. While Jade searched through the shelves, a crash sound echoed through aisles. Jade walked towards the sound while Lancelot followed behind. Jade encountered a man twice they're size, but Jade dealt with the whole ordeal calmly. When Jade entered the kitchen, the red-headed brute followed them.

What was this bastard planning? Lancelot thought as he followed the two inside.

Jade complained towards the brute, but he refused to leave. Lancelot grew irritated and almost pursued to reveal himself. However, Lancelot stopped himself when Jade gave a plate of steak to the brute.

Was Jade showing pity towards this brute? That's completely unnecessary. Lancelot thought as he continued to watch in silence. Jade left the room before Lancelot could follow them. The brute spoke;

"How long do you plan to follow Jade?" he chuckled.

Lancelot materialized.

"Jade isn't even a master, yet you seem very protective of Jade." the brute commented.

Lancelot released a low growl.

"Is it because Jade remained you of someone?" the brute chuckled.

Lancelot growled again as he slowly approached the brute.

The brute grinned. "Lancer told me if you wanted to know."

Lancer? That blue-haired servant? I should've cut him down at the start.

Lancelot growled again.

"Say, let's have an alliance." the brute suggested.

Lancelot became quiet as he questioned the brute's suggestion.

"You do have an interest with Jade, do you not? I have an interest in Jade as well." the brute said.

Lancelot growled once more.

Interest? Old ugly man, what are you trying to say? That I'm only after Jade because of her looks? How dare you compare me to the likes of you! Lancelot thought as he summoned his blade.

The brute laughed. "Wouldn't anyone be interested in Jade? After all, Jade has such a mysterious background."

Lancelot then flinched at those last words.

"Jade felled into Chaldea without a single reason. Jade came here with a lack of memories. Jade happily volunteered to be a janitor rather than live a relaxed life in Chaldea." the brute stated.

Lancelot de-materialized his sword.

"Knowing all that, couldn't anyone be a little curious about Jade's history?" the brute laughed loudly.

Lancelot stepped away from the brute. He felt disgusted, not by the brute but disgusted by himself. He couldn't describe how sickening he felt inside.

Jade shared the exact face to Guinevere's. However, Jade was not Guinevere, and they will never be Guinevere. Jade was Jade, nothing more or less.

What was Lancelot doing by stalking Jade around? Did Lancelot create false hope for himself? Did Lancelot hope that maybe one day, his Guinevere would finally return to him?

What a fool Lancelot had become. No. Lancelot has always been a fool. A poor naive inexcusable fool.

"What do you say?" the brute asked.

Lancelot nodded his head before he de-materialized.

Why did Lancelot agree? Didn't he assault Jade's privacy enough? Does Lancelot still believe in the fantasy he created in his mind?

He didn't know. When Jade entered the room, Lancelot exited.

One day, while Lancelot followed Jade. Jade was then taken away by the overly large brute. Lancelot followed them until they entered a room. When Lancelot entered, he saw Jade asleep in the brute's massive cape.

Lancelot scanned the room for other servants. There was no one else inside the room. After Lancelot confirmed he was alone with Jade, he de-materialized. He kneeled next to Jade as Lancelot's form loomed over them. Lancelot stared down at Jade before he noticed his hand attempted to reach out.

Lancelot grabbed his unruly gauntlet hand as he breathed heavily.

What was he doing? Why did Lancelot still persued Jade? Lancelot had finally accepted Jade was not Guinevere, didn't he? So why did he remain by Jade's side?

Lancelot was then dragged out of his thoughts when he heard a soft groan. Jade rubbed they're eyes before they stared at Lancelot with a sleepy gaze. Lancelot did not move or even flinched. Jade rubbed over they're eyelids again before they sat up from the couch. Lancelot attempted to de-materialize but stopped when Jade touched Lancelot's helmet.

"Your face..." Jade mumbled.

"Can I see it?" Jade said with a soft smile.

Lancelot felt chills crawl up his spine at Jade's words. Against his better judgement, Lancelot de-materialized his helmet. Lancelot could feel soft fingers touch against his skin.

"You're not scary..." Jade mumbled as they stroked Lancelot's locks.

"Not at all." Jade giggled softly with a kind smile.

Lancelot fidgeted under Jade's touch. He held his breath before he heard Jade spoke again.

"You're so pretty." Jade giggled softly.

"I wish I was as pretty as you..." Jade commented as they're hands left Lancelot.

The looks on Lancelot's eyes widened as he clutched Jade's hand.

"That's nonsense," he stated while he stared intensely.

"What do you mean?" Jade blinked before they yawned.

"You are beautiful. No. You are marvellous. I failed to understand inferiority when you are so gorgeous." Lancelot said before rubbed his cheek against Jade's hands.

"Okay." Jade shrugged they're shoulders before they laid on the couch again.

Lancelot was at a loss for words as he found himself in a slight dilemma. Jade used Lancelot's hands as pillows while they slept. Lancelot could move or de-materialize his hands, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. So Lancelot remained in the same position before the brute came and placed Jade into a proper bed.
