Title at the end

I was awoken by the sound of movement coming from outside my pseudo cabin. I slowly moved to look outside of my mini cabin to see the tiger looking outside at the fire pit. It was growling at the fire pit most likely confused as to why it wasn't generating heat anymore. Damn does it really want me to start a fire? It was hard enough yesterday while I was motivated too, and now that it's warming up it wants a fire. The tiger saw me observing it and growled at me as if asking me to start the fire. Whatever I guess us humans would do anything for our animal overlords. I got up, stretched and walked over and started banging the rocks together again. This time it only took 15 minutes to start the fire. Thank god it didn't take as long as last time. Yosh! I stood up to get ready for the day. To start, I'll make a list of what to do today.

1. I need to make a weapon and learn how to use it.

2. I need to finish eating the watermelon before making it into a barrel and getting more water.

3. I needed to hunt and get some protein before my body has a breakdown

Alright I'll start with number one. I took a seven foot branch with a diameter of about 8 inches and started carving. I carved it into a spear point into it first before carving down the shaft into a circular shape. And boom now I had a spear that was about 2 feet taller than me. I grabbed the spear and started stabbing with it and moving it around in my hands. I decided to practice with it.

...2 hours later....

After probably 2 hours of slashing and thrusting the spear, I decided I would need someone to teach me how to use the spear before I progress any further with it. When I swung the spear, I could tell I was doing it wrong, but I didn't have any idea on how to do it right. It's frustrating but I can't do anything about it right now. I'll have to set traps for my prey, and then finish them off with the spear. Using that strategy I don't have to have any skill with this spear at all! That doesn't mean I shouldn't try to practice though, it'd be nice to be able to use a weapon of some sort. I went back to my cabin and crawled inside the door before securing my spear next to the food barrel that held mangos and other fruits I had gathered throughout my 2 days spent in this forest. I crawled out of the door and sat down for a bit.

After a while I stood up and walked into the forests surrounding my camp. I started digging a hole next to where I normally see the wild life wandering around. All of the wildlife in this forest points to me being in India as well. I've seen multiple sangai since I've arrived here. Which means I might not only be in India, I might be in a different time period as well. Sangai were an endangered species at least in my time, which means that I am either in a future where the sangai population has been restored, or I am in the past where the sangai population isn't endangered. Both options aren't very appealing to me as it would mean the chances of me getting back to my time are very slim. The worst part is, I don't know how to speak hindi very well, not to mention if i'm in the past there is a chance I might have to try and learn a new language like Sanskrit, Urdu, Odia, and Malayalam, just to name some of the MANY old Indian languages. It all depends on what time I'm in, to be honest I don't know the names of most old Indian languages not to mention how to speak them. I only know a bit of Sanskrit, less than I know of Hindi but I might be able to hold a conversation with someone who speaks Sanskrit. However that would be even worse, as it would be even harder to figure out where I am as I don't recall the years in which Sanskrit was spoken. When it comes to other Indian languages, I have no idea how to speak them. Which means if I were in the past, I would be effectively illiterate. I sighed and decided to finish making my trap, and worrying about language barriers later. (A/n while researching this part I realised India has a LARGE number of different languages depending on the area, which is interesting to me.) Time skip

I stood up from my finished trap and decided to hide it by putting plantlife over it. I dug a hole deep enough that anything that found its way in there would be trapped for a while. Now that I had a trap set up, I would focus on the second thing I needed to do today, eating the watermelon and turning it into another water barrel.

I walked back to my camp and pulled the half eaten watermelon out from my mini cabin and started eating near the now dying fire. What I have been going through reminded me of a story Jonathan told me about once. Something about a teenager having to restart the world after everyone got turned to stone for 3000 years using science. I am not the best at science, and I doubt I could modernize the world I'm in. If I'm in the past of course, if I were in the future I wouldn't have to worry about stuff like that. I guess it doesn't matter either way, all I need to do is survive, despite being cautious I consider myself an optimistic person and know that if I survive long enough I can probably find a way back to my time. After finishing my thoughts, I continued eating the watermelon in silence. I don't think solitude is good for sanity. I want someone to talk to.

Shaking those depressing thoughts out of my mind, I finished eating the watermelon and made it into a barrel. It was time to make a trip to the river once more. To take a bath, and get some more water.

.......Time skip (to river)/ Chapter break....

Yo author here! It's crazy what isolation can do to a person right? At least alex here has his tiger pal. (I'm working on a name more fitting of the setting It probably won't change until he meets another person.) Also, i'm gonna recommend a song "My way" by Frank Sinatra It's a good song go check it out! Now back to the chapter!

.............Chapter break end......

I finished washing myself up in the river before hooping out and waiting for my clothes to dry off. Both of the water barrels were filled up, it should last me about 6 days from how things have been going so far. I sat down in the sun hoping for the sun to slowly dry me off. For some reason, I haven't had to drink or eat as much as I normally would, I don't know why but it could be a good or bad thing. I jumped up and grabbed my clothes to get ready to head back to my camp. I hoisted up both of the barrels and started the walk back to camp. I hummed to myself along the way. My hands were full due to the barrels, so it was hard to maneuver around the roots of trees and just plant life in general. I managed though, as my balance was pretty good. After a while of following the stick trail I was able to hear the cries of an animal. I didn't pay attention to it and continued on the trail.

When I got back to my cabin, I stored both of the barrels in the cabin and grabbed my spear. Time to see if my trap had caught anything. When I got there, I saw a small swan with an injured wing. It seems it had fallen into my trap on accident while its wing was injured causing it to not be able to fly out. I debated whether or not to kill it before sighing and carefully picking it up and bringing it back to my cabin. I then went and set up the trap again. When I got back to my camp from that, I made sure the small swan was comfortable before giving it a tiny bit of my fruit. I smiled as the small bird ate the fruit. I didn't eat it because it was too small to actually give me enough meat. Maybe I could eat it when it gets bigger? No! I saved the bird so I have to take care of it! I stroked my chin while internally debating on whether I should eat the small bird. I nodded my head before Grabbing a mango and eating it. The mangos here were very good. They tasted like a sweeter version of normal mangos and had a better flavor and taste in general. I need to get some meat soon, so I can make some sort of mango smoked bacon. It would be delicious. My mouth started watering at the thought of meat. I sighed before taking a seat on the ground near where the small swan was resting.

I should make cooking and other utensils, as well as a knife to carve the meat of animals that I kill. I can store the meat in dandelion roots to preserve it for at least a day, due to the natural sodium in the roots, but I'd need another barrel. Time to go look for another watermelon!

............TIMESKIP..........

I removed the watermelon from its stem and picked it up before starting the walk back to my camp. These watermelons were heavy, but I could pick them up with ease. That was something I definitely could not do back in my time, so why could I do it now? I don't know, even though I'm stronger, I eat less. Isn't it usually the other way around? When I got there I saw the little swan had woken up and was wandering around my camp looking at everything curiously. I went inside my cabin and stored the watermelon in it. I'll check my trap one more time before going to bed. I walk over to my trap and see that nothing has fallen in it yet. My hopes and dreams crushed, I head back to camp for a good night's sleep. I went inside my mini cabin and curled up in a ball. After a while I fell asleep wondering if I would ever meet another human again.

................Chapter end (1800 words)..............

End. It's shorter than yesterday, but I need to take a nap. I'm dead tired after having not slept for like 20 hours. Tell me what you think about this chapter in the comments, and if there is anything I could be doing better. thanks for reading- AndrewTate.
