47 Chapter 43: Secrets unveiled?

Looking at the roaring and frustrated destroyer of a whole damn mythology made me who just stood up twitch my eyebrow. When I looked at the smirking instructor he suddenly shoved to me a piece of paper. It was actually a copy of that contract Surtr voluntarily (?) signed.

[Contract between devil Surtr and [Ria el Nermia] – Geass Roll -]

The master of the burning land Musphelheim, archdevil Surtr recognizes contractor [Ria el Nermia] as his master. PLEDGING OBEDIENCE TO HER AND ALL OF HER COMMANDS, and not acting independently without word from the contractor, he swears to the world to lend his unlimited strength and talents with NO. COMPENSATION. WHATSOEVER.

Looking at such a twisted contract I made a double take countless times to the demonic being beside me that even scammed such a world-destroying creature. The sentence that is running in my head right now is…

Fuck. What the hell is this.

Geass Roll

A contract that affirms the World as its witness. A contract not even gods can do anything about, with the creator's authorities inscribed in it. I had read about it when I had free time to understand the lore of this world once and I learned that there are three places in this entire continent that makes them in a small scale.

Even if it's not as convenient like a certain ruler with magical eyes it's value is so big that even the humans and demons who tends to fight wars considered those places as gray areas and don't fight there. I was shocked that the instructor has this that I wanna ask if he have more but because it can only be used in this world I can only sigh in frustration remembering this tidbit.

After Surtr had his fill of roaring and crying out his frustration and with the sudden silence that occurred when the instructor asked no. 17 to silence the poor giant, they are now looking at the me who have red eyes and blue hair streaks. Even when Surtr noticed me his eyes suddenly widened in recognition to my presence or should I say Lancer's presence?

"Now then… when did you start looking like that no. 950 or should I say. The great 'Child of Light'? Or you would prefer 'Hound of Ulster'?" The instructor said as if sniding me. Looking at his expression I know I might get chewed for this incident. But looking at him I finally got an answer to a certain question that was bugging me.

"No I think you can stick to the no. 950 instructor. But lemme ask something my dear instructor~…" I said while sighing and dematerialized my spear. Ignoring the shining eyes of no. 17 who is practically drooling when she saw me did that I sat in the ground and looked at the grating smile of the instructor.

"Hn? What is it, I can answer some things unless if its personal for such a 'magnificent' hero like you." Looking at the sudden serious face of the instructor made me laugh for a bit but the next sentence I will say will make the instructor a bit dumbfounded and no. 17 confused.

"Did the 'shinigami' sent you to this evil organization?" I said mischievously.

"Eh… wait come to my room." He said and suddenly dragged me leaving the confused no. 17 behind alongside her slave(?).

"So that's the situation huh…" The instructor said and gulping a glass of alcohol refreshingly.

After he dragged me in his room and pressing here and there I suddenly saw myself inside a fortress of sort that would put a secured castle to shame. I assisted in placing some bounded fields secretly that will stop someone in eavesdropping in our conversation or should I say give them false information? After I made a watered down 'story' about mine and Yamada's situation alongside some specific terminologies a pure blooded otaku would know, the instructor suddenly grabbed a barrel of alcohol and started a long conversation or in a sense a huge complaint about his situation.

I found it a bit funny about how reality slapped him badly, from starting over in learning a language that made him lag behind from other kids from learning to speak and to write marking him an idiot by his parents. I sympathized a bit when his parents died and his career ever since then. But the tragic thing for him to happen is that he is actually cursed to not learn magic. Talk about surviving in a world where a kid can play with fire in five years old it would surely drop a few screws from your brain.

While our conversation kept on becoming heated I ignored the strange voice in a corner that kept whispering something, I felt it was dangerous if I would know about it so I totally ignored it.

I had learned before that our protection target is the instructor making me and Yamada tried to destroy the smug Ruby at that time in anger but looking at it now, he might not even need our protection based in his exploits.

I did not tell him fully because we needed to minimize the spread of information to the 'locals' (the instructor was considered a local even when he was reincarnated here so he is blacklisted also) because the World can access a beings' subconscious thoughts akin to how Alaya (the subconscious will of humanity to avoid extinction in the TYPE-MOON world, it is also the one that uses the agents called Counter Guardians like EMIYA) was formed. All I said is that we had a mission and that is heavily related to him.

"I can guess why you can't say much about your purpose here but the status quo will still not change… Even if you're a Heroic Spirit or an orphaned kid due to the Great War we will still have an instructor and trainee relationship." He said after listening to me. Nodding in agreement even if this fu- guy had a twisted sense of how he trained us I felt like I got weirdly stronger in a much higher pace than before. (I later heard from Zelretch that this guy get's a huge amount of money by training kids making me curse out loud)

But I still did not know then... how deep is his madness is.

Extra:

No. 1000's musing.

Mirua. My name and the last thing I have left from the people called my parents. Since I was born, my country had been involved in a war. A really big war called the Great War. Even now I did not understand what it means. All I know is that people dying was part of our daily life, and the only really big problem was that there was not enough food to eat.

Because of that, I was alone when I was six. When I was three with my faded memories, the person called my Dad was already non-existent, and the day I turned six, Mom went to the military camp for something to eat, but was swept up in an enemy ambush and didn't come back.

There was a possibility that she ran away but her dying was the only thing I can only believe. Because of that I was alone and fought for food from stray cats to kids similar to me. Scavenging food from trashcans and nearby army camps. There was one time that I slept by the walls of an army camp then a night assault happened. Looking back, I still did not know how I survived. So I was wandering here and there then an angel in black suddenly approached me one day.

"I will give you food. Will you come with me?" (A/N: LOLICON ALERT!!!)

"Yes!"

Mom used to worry that I do not show much emotion, but I was so excited that I even surprised myself. I followed the angel for a few days and finally reached heaven.

"Fwaa~…" For the first time in my life, I could eat the food called meat. Up until now I thought of the brown fragments in the army gruel was meat and I stuffed it in my mouth fearing someone would steal it. Reflecting at my ignorance I kept eating such food that melts in my mouth with vigor. Then I was guided to a place where people like wearing black clothes and was given a pair of black clothes also.

I got the name No. 875, held a sword like they told me to, and learned how to swing the sword. Stab the dummy, slice the dummy, eat. Repeating those daily ignoring the long distance running that made me hungrier the instructor suddenly said I had no talent and did not improve but because they are feeding me it was alright.

Later on I was called no. 1000, and when they said that we have to leave this place I was sad. Thinking that we won't eat this kind of food anymore made me feel the world was ending but the food at the place we arrived was even tastier so it did not matter.

Even though they made us do things similar to those big guys at the army camps and made me experience again those annoying bombardments because the food was more delicious I ignored it. Later on there are only five kids alongside me under the supposedly scary instructor. Few mouths to eat equals more food or so I thought but the instructor made us go to different places instead.

I saw many beautiful places, more delicious food and later learned that the instructor can cook anything! Even if no. 950 can cook and catch delicious food loses at the skill of our instructor~! Then returning to that place they called 'secret base' the instructor suddenly wanted us to run and stop the others from reaching first and to those who will go last will not have food! Hearing such dangerous words, I did my best and always eat a lot of food every day.

There was that one time I did not eat making me feel despair watching them savor theirs so in anger I practiced using the sword again till bam! A weird light suddenly appears in my sword. The next day no. 950 also showed a bigger and beautiful light in his spear so I lost again. So I watched no. 17 and then I learned how to 'phew! Phew!' and use that thing they called magic also then I finally beat no. 950. Every day we did that earning our delicious food especially every time I got first place the food is so good~!!

I slept again in my soft bed and wished tomorrow to arrive quickly. But I did not know then… that no. 950 is actually super strong.
