2 Entering The Singularity

Boom!

"Warning! Warning!" the PA system suddenly announced, "Power levels critical. Switching to backup generator…Error. Manual override needed. Containment wall closing in 240 seconds. Any remaining personnel in the Central Command must evacuate immediately."

Hearing the announcement Ritsuka slowly raised is body and looked around the room. The room was filled with roaring fire and destruction. As his eyes regained focus, he noticed bits of the ceiling laying around him, and was happy to discover that he survived.

Looking a few meters to his right, he sighed in relief at the unconscious form of Marie Animusphere. He had managed to save her from the bomb placed directly underneath her feet at the exact last moment. He was glad his shout had saved her life.

"Wh..what's…" she groggily murmured, coming to after the blast wave had knocked her out.

But Ritsuka didn't have time to wait for her because he still needed to check his little sister and Mash. After walking around for a few minutes he found the two of them.

The problem was the heavy rock that was on Mash's body."Mash, don't worry. Someone will definitely save us" his little sister was trying to comfort Mash and herself after the shock caused by the explosion.

The system announced once again "Containment wall closing in 60 seconds. Any remaining personnel in the Central Command must evacuate immediately."

"...Or, maybe they won't save us" after the announcement Ritsuka's little sister immediately changed her mind

"Run, Senpai," Mash said, "You can't save me…Save yourself. I'm not worth it."

"What are you saying!" Ritsuka roared, his entire being taking offense at Mash's statement, "I'll definitely save you. I'm not leaving you here." He bent down to raise the debris from her body, only to be forced to jump back due to the heat of the obstacle. His hands were already starting to show signs of burns.

"System switching to final prep phase for Rayshift. Coordinates locked and set. AD 2004, January 30th, Fuyuki, Japan," the PA droned on. Ritsuka's jaw opened in surprise. "Laplace's protection and prediction program established. Singularity set and established. Unsummoning protocol confirmed. Please adjust for any final parameter changes."

Ritsuka heard a voice a few meters from them

"It…can't work," Marie said, staring at the coffins, "The Masters..."

Then, the small globe, Chaldeas changed. From its normally serene colour of blue, it transformed into an angry red. Marie's already pale face seemed to drain of all its colour.

"Warning! Warning! Warning! Chaldeas' state has changed. All observation staff are advised to note time and state. Data is being processed for Shiva's near-future prediction algorithm. Code Red. Code Red. Unable to detect the existence of mankind 100 years in the current timeline of Earth. Unable to detect any human life. No guarantee for the continued survival of mankind."

"It can't be…No…all of my life's work," Marie cried as her constitution continued to worsen, "Lev! Lev! Please! Where are you! Save me! Please…Why…why…why! Why haven't you come to fix it all and save me! Lev!" She wailed uncontrollably. Trauma was setting in rapidly and finally, Marie couldn't take it anymore and passed out.

"Main area sealed. Prepare for Rayshift in 180 seconds."

"It seems we're stuck here," Ritsuka said gravely as he stared into the self-contained hell that burned around him. Mash nodded with a sad and grateful smile, happy that someone had sincerely tried to save her.

"Coffin vital signs taken…Warning! All current Masters unsuited for Rayshift. Baseline vitals indicate immediate medical attention required. Rayshift requirements not met. Scanning area for suitable Master…"

"Found…Master candidate #47 Gudako Fujimaru and Master candidate #48 Ritsuka Fujimaru designated as new Masters. Unsummoning beginning. Spiritron conversion in process. Secondary life form found, unsuitable for Master status. Third life form detected as Servant…"

Ritsuka's eyes widened in surprise.

"Ano…Senpai?" Mash questioned as they all started to shine with mana, "Would you mind…if I held onto you?"

"Rayshift beginning in 3…2…1…"

Ritsuka slowly opened his eyes and the sight before him left him speechless. A destroyed city burning in flames as far as the eye could see."I am in hell?" Ritsuka asked himself, stupified by the turn of events.

After looking around for a few minutes he noticed a flash in the distance, similar to a star."what is that? why is it getting bigger?"

after a bit is eyes widened in terror, that thing was coming towards him.

At the last second something appeared before the object and in the next instant the star collided with it. Boom! on impact the earth trembled and he fell on the floor.

"are you alright, master?"hearing the voice, he opened his eyes and the sight stunned him. Before him was a young girl with pink hair. She was wearing a rather revealing purple suit with a few pieces of armor and the object from before was her shield.

Then someone touched his shoulder. As he turned around he was delighted to see his little sister."Good morning, big brother~" she had a playful smile on her face but he could detect the relief in her eyes. so, without esitation, he hugged her "good morning little sis, glad you are okay" then he turned his head "you too, Mash"

Before Mash could respond, a second and third impact fell on the shield, causing other two explosions.

Ritsuka asked them "what is the thing that is throwing nukes at us?"

Mash immediately responded to his question

"it's an heroic spirit, and he is on that tower"

Looking towards the tower he noticed a red glow "..Umm. why does that blow seem more dangerous than the previous ones?"

Mash looked carefully before shouting "it's a Noble Phantasm!"

But before the Servant could fire it, a barrage of fireballs collided with his position. Seeing as he was being targeted, the Servant retreated. Mash turned towards her masters and spoke "it looks like we are safe for now"
