14 Chapter 14: Bang!

Chapter 14: Bang!

Julius couldn't help but be surprised how Chaldea had managed to become some kind of Throne that allowed Servants to be summoned who, even if they died, could still be brought back.

As they quickly finished off another group of armored skeletons, he mentally praised Ritsuka for being able to use multiple Servants at the same time, which spoke volumes about his talent as a Master.

Olga Marie congratulated them for ending the fight so quickly. She seemed a bit self-conscious due to the presence of two non-Chaldean people, though she still somehow acted slightly haughty.

Although she wasn't the nicest person out there, her circumstances explained her temper to some extent. Olga Marie had been a master's candidate until her father, the previous Director, died. She had to assume the leadership of Chaldea at a difficult time since they had stopped being able to see the expected future in the next 100 years.

Furthermore, they found out that she didn't have any talent to be a Master, and that started a lot of criticism among the prominent families of the Clock Tower. Between the pressure to fix the situation, and the bad reputation, Olga Marie was probably in a very bad state of mind.

He watched as she healed Mash and felt sorry for her. However, she had been manipulated by Leff Leinur for too long, only seeing with her own eyes who was the person she admired so much would actually wake her up.

'That's right, I'll make it so she doesn't suffer the same fate as in the game.' He already had a plan to accomplish such a thing. 'I'll take care of ORT myself, though in order to do that I need to get much stronger.'

While Julius was lost in thought about him, Rin watched him.

'He seems to be absent again, I wonder what he's thinking...' She had noticed that he seemed to tune out the world regularly.

As they continued searching, the three members of Chaldea began to talk about how Fujimaru would need to learn about the true name of the heroic spirit within Mash and her Noble Phantasm.

Right at that moment, Romani's voice alerted them.

"Less talk! All of you need to get out of there now!" He exclaimed. "I'm still picking up something, and this is..."

A person covered in shadows stood in front of them. They could make out the silhouette with long hair and chains in her hands.

What is that? Olga Marie was startled by the presence not unlike a Servant that the shadow emitted.

"It's too early for you to fight a Servant! Get out of there!" Romani yelled at them through the comlink.

"No, we must fight." Julius commented. "We can fight her."

Julius raised his hand and pointed a finger at the unknown Servant as if he had a gun.

"That's…" Rin recognized what Julius was about to use, as it was one of her signature attacks.

A black sphere with a red outline formed on Julius's finger. The [Gandr] went off with a sonic boom. It was unbelievably fast, like a bullet fired from a sniper rifle.

None of the mages could follow the trajectory of the curse, only Mash could with some difficulty. However, the Shadow Servant managed to block it with her weapons, causing a loud collision sound and causing her to be dragged backward a bit.

'As I expected, Gandr is a great attack if you have the Magical Energy to back it up. Now that I'm a Sequence 5 I can do something like...' As he thought of these words, [Gandr] curses began to be shot from his finger like a machine gun.

"Mash, prepare to attack." Julius spoke to the girl to wake her from shock, as neither of them expected this aggressive tactic.

"Understood!" She charged forward with the shield.

The Shadow Servant had no choice but to run at top speed to the side while dodging the deadly bullets. Mash appeared next to her and tried to hit her with the shield, but missed as the Servant used the shield as a springboard to jump off.

"I'm sorry...!" Mash tried to apologize, but Julius's voice stopped her, this time coming from behind her.

"Good distraction." Julius smiled as he appeared next to the Servant, who was now leaping into the air.

She didn't have time to react, since Julius's finger was pointing at her head.

'When did he get there?' Mash was surprised.

"Bang!" The shot blew her head off like a melon struck by an anvil.

There was no blood, the shadow just vanished into nothingness.

"Good job." Julius congratulated.

"Sorry, there's no time to rest." Romani spoke again. "A similar signal as before is heading that way. I don't have to tell you what you need to do, right?"

"A similar signal? No way..." Mash looked concerned, to which Julius agreed.

"It's best to retreat for now, it wouldn't be good if we were surrounded by several Shadow Servants, even if they are weaker than their common counterparts." Julius commented.

"Ritsuka! Retreat! Hurry up! We've got to get out of here now!" Olga Marie seemed very scared at the prospect of several Servants attacking them.

They all rushed to leave the place. When they were safe, they started talking again.

"Oh, for God's sake, what is happening?" The Director breathed heavily, tired from running so much. "Why are Servants here?"

At this moment, it was Rin who decided to explain.

"It's highly likely that a Holy Grail War was going on at this location before whatever happened." She said.

Julius nodded. "She's right. That Shadow Servant was Medusa, who was the Rider-class Servant from the same Grail War we were participating in before we got stuck here."
