12 Chapter 12: Singularity

Chapter 12: Singularity

"Well? What do we do?" Rin had recovered from the shock and returned to her normal personality.

"I've lost my connection to Saber, so we can't use that as a guide to get back either." Julius sighed and she nodded, having also noted her loss of connection with Archer.

"But seriously, what the hell were you thinking?" Rin pointed an accusatory finger at him. "What's this about setting up a Reality Marble in my house? And then we somehow travel to another timeline, are you a magician?"

Julius shook his head. "I actually intended to become one with this war, but I haven't reached Root yet." He explained. "This whole mess is because I made a serious miscalculation when developing a new effect for my magecraft."

He felt stupid, he had relied too much on the system to deal with any kind of loss of control and it caused his Reality Marble to destabilize.

"Sorry Tohsaka, I'll make sure to make up for this mistake." He apologized, after all, he understood that this was an incredibly dangerous situation.

"Hm, I hope so." She crossed her arms.

Julius was about to speak again when he noticed something heading towards them.

"Watch out!" He exclaimed.

An arrow flew towards Rin's head and she would have hit if it hadn't stopped strangely in midair. Julius kept one hand out as if he was grabbing something. She stepped back and stood next to him.

This was one of the new skills he had obtained, it was called [Invisible Hand] and it basically consisted of a Telekinesis with a low range and area of effect, but very powerful.

From behind some rubble emerged two skeletons, one with a bow and the other with a sword.

"Thanks for that." Rin commented.

"Don't worry, can you take the one with the bow?" He questioned, to which she answered in the affirmative and started shooting Gandr.

Julius decided that this was a perfect opportunity to improve his new abilities, and now that he was a Sequence 5 Traveler he could record coordinates so he wouldn't get lost anymore.

He stepped forward and disappeared, reappearing almost instantly in front of the skeleton with its sword and striking it as he used Reinforcement magecraft to empower his body.

The skeleton was slightly blown away by the blow and his skull fractured in many parts, as well as dropping his sword. Julius had used [Blink], which consisted of using his ability to travel across worlds with very short distances, which meant short-range teleportation.

'Perfect, this will do for now.' He grabbed the rusty sword the skeleton had dropped and watched as the skeleton started to get up. "Truly an undead."

He used [Blink] again and slashed at the skeleton many times as he reinforced the sword.

He finally considered his work done when the undead had been disassembled like a laboratory skeleton.

Julius turned to see that the archer was down as well, though Rin suffered a few scratches due to not being able to fully dodge the arrows.

"Do you know Healing magecraft?" Julius asked.

She nodded. "I know of a spell, but I don't have the necessary gems with me right now."

"Don't worry." Julius healed her quickly. "I think we should look to see if there's anyone else alive here."

Rin smiled wryly.

"There's no way that..."

"KYAAAAAAAAAAH!" A voice was heard in the distance.

"I'm not sure I want to go see..." Julius joked, though that shout reminded him that the events of this Singularity were anything but fun.

Also, he couldn't think of a way to save Olga Marie Animusphere without Heaven's Feel.

"Let's go." Rin laughed a little at the comment and they both ran towards the place.

When they had reached the source of the scream, they hid to see what happened. What they found was a woman in her early twenties trying to escape from skeletons very similar to the ones the two of them had fought.

Then two more people arrived.

"Director Olga Marie?" A pink-haired girl wearing a giant shield asked.

"Y-You two!" The woman was visibly happy to meet these two people. "What in the world is going on here?"

Just then a few skeletons started coming out to attack them, and Julius decided that this was the best time to make an appearance.

Using [Blink] he took out three of the enemies in a moment, while the girl with the shield took out two.

The trio went on their guard when they saw such a strong stranger appear.

"Who are you?" Olga Marie questioned.

"My name is Julius Abraham, I am a magus of the Clock Tower." He motioned for Rin to come out.

"A magus? What does a magus..." Olga Marie couldn't finish the words when she saw how Rin came out of her hiding place. "Rin Tohsaka!"

The girl in question was surprised.

"Do you know me?" She asked.

"Of course! I'm Olga Marie Animusphere, don't you recognize me?" Olga Marie seemed very happy to see her. "Wait, why do you look so young? Also, how are you here?"

Rin was bombarded with a ton of questions, and Julius had to intervene for her sake.

"I think I can answer your questions." He started. "We got here by accident due to a problem with magecraft. If I'm not mistaken, we came from a point further in the past than you."

The pink-haired girl intervened.

"Wait, you say you got here while practicing magecraft? What kind of magus are you to accomplish that?" she asked him.

Olga Marie agreed. "I'm sure I would have heard the name of someone so skilled."

Julius looked at Rin for a moment before answering.

"Actually, I probably don't exist in your timeline."

It's been hard, but mission complete.
