3 [Rage]

"Make way, make way!" Daedalus yelled as he pushed through the crowd with Icarus following right behind.

The crowd finally parted as Daedalus and Icarus arrived at the front. In front of a large audience stood Daedalus' nephew, Talus.

He stood in a clearing next to a large fallen tree and a long item covered in a sheet by his feet. Icarus took a quick glance at Daedalus only to see what he had expected, Daedalus was pissed.

As the crowd finished gathering Talus finally spoke, "Hello everyone, thanks for gathering here today! I'm here to show you my new invention! The Saw!"

He then proceeded to grab the object by his feet and unveiled the sheet covering it to reveal a long rectangular metal sheet with one side being cut into sharp jagged teeth and on one end of the sheet was a wooden handle.

He gripped the saw by the handle and showed it to the crowd, they seemed curious of what its purpose was.

"Last week I had eaten a fish, after picking it clean of meat I was left with only the bony spine. Normally, I would just dispose of such a thing but then, inspiration hit me, causing me an epiphany!"

The audience just became more confused as he rambled on,

"What if I added a toothed edge to a sheet of metal and place the edge against a material such as wood?! And then...!" The crowd grew increasingly more interested as he placed the toothed edge of the saw on the base of the tree he stood next to.

"Apply force against the trunk before forcefully moving it back and forth along the trunk by hand!" He then proceeded to do just that as the crowd watched in amazement as the saw slowly shredded through the tree with a perfectly straight cut.

"This can be used in a multitude of ways! No longer will we have to ruggedly chop down trees with an axe only to have to spend hours slowly scrapping it straight for crafting! Now we can have it cut straight right from the tree!" He yelled in excitement as the fallen tree split from the center in a perfectly straight cut.

The crowd yelled in amazement as Icarus once more turned to glance at Daedalus and he was enraged! It makes sense as the saw is way more ingenious than any invention of Daedalus thus far!

Icarus stood in shock as he wasn't even able to react in time as Daedalus suddenly charged!

"Talus! You fucking bastard!"

"U-uncle?!"

The crowd watched, stunned into silence as Daedalus threw Talus to the ground before grabbing the saw that Talus dropped by the handle with one hand and holding it in the air.

"You think yourself a genius?! Better than me, Daedalus?! Then die for your transgression!" Daedalus roared in indignation!

The crowd watched in astonishment as Daedalus, gripping the saw, slashed it towards Talus in an attempt to slice into his neck and kill him!

Icarus wasn't even able to react from the levels of 'What the Fuck?!' until Talus' scream brought him back to reality just in time to see Daedalus fucking kill him!

"AHHHHH!!!" Talus cried in pain!

SHLICK!

The serrated edge of the saw dug straight into Talus' neck as the crowd watched, frozen in shock, as Talus slowly bled out from the wound in despair!

The area went silent as only the noise of Daedalus' rapid breaths in rage was heard from the crowd. The deafening silence soon ended as rapid footsteps of heavy boots came from behind the crowd.

CLUNK

The crowd parted as the local noble's astynomia arrived and quickly seized Daedalus! [1]

"Unhand me! I'm Daedalus!" He shouts in hysteria as the guards quickly grabbed him and began dragging him away.

Icarus look over at Talus' body with a frown before turning toward Daedalus as they make eye contact.

"Icarus! C'mon, tell them that I was in the right! It was my right! How dare he?!" He yelled as he looked at Icarus with eyes teamed of insanity.

Icarus cringed as the eyes of everyone nearby turned to him. He then sighed before rubbing his forehead in exasperation, 'I can't believe he just up and killed his own nephew like that.....'

Icarus eyes hardened before looking over at Daedalus with disappointment before slowly turning away and walking into the crowd.

"Icarus! C'mon, tell them that I was in the right! It was my right! How dare he?!" I yelled towards my son, Icarus.

Surely he will explain to them my greatness and how insulting Talus was towards me?! It was in self defense, wasn't it?! He provoked me first with his...invention.

My face sneered in a mix of disgust and rage at the thought of such a thing. To think his own nephew would insult him in such a way!

I glanced back at Icarus in time to see him finish rubbing his forehead for some reason.

Hurry up, boy! Explain to these fools! I thought as the guard began dragging me from that bastard's corpse.

Icarus looked at me with some foreign gaze I couldn't recognize before turning around and walking into the crowd to...leave?

'....eh? Icarus? Where are you going?!

"Icarus!? Where are you going?! Get back here!!"

What is he doing?! Is he abandoning me?! That unfilial son! He's probably going back to the house to steal my inventions!

....wait.

That can't be it, I haven't invented anything new in a while now...

Ah, I see! Hahaha, good boy! He must be headed to the magistrate to explain my innocence!

.....hm? Wait, his gaze felt familiar somehow.....

It was the same gaze I would give when I saw him training with that ugly stick.

What was it again? Ah.....right...disappointment.

How dare he?!?!

"ICARUS!" I screamed while throwing the guard off me! The other guards quickly approached me as they ready their spears in their arms.

They think that is enough for me, Daedalus?!

I reached into my magic pouch that is able to hold over 6x it's size inside, and quickly pulled out a prototype device.

I gripped the small device between my hand the willed mana into it before shouting my spell, "ανάβω!"[2]

The device catches on fire as I throw it at the nearest guard.

POP! POW!

The device explodes in a small explosion of color, enough to cause the guards to take a moment to flinch and lightly burn their skin.

"Careful! He's a magician!" One of the guards yelled towards another.

Heh, that's right, you aren't my opponent. You are not worthy to fight me! Daedalus!

I took the opportunity to grab another item from the pouch, an enchanted mace that is blessed to raise one's endurance and defense.

"RAHHH!" I yelled as the steel knobbed mace collided into the head of the guard and caved in his skull causing the rest of the guards to quickly attacked!

"Ahg!" I yelled as one of the spears punctured my arm, good thing my mace stopped it from proceeding any further.

I heard more guards approaching and decided to run, throwing more of my prototype fireworks towards the guards as a distraction.

I need to leave, these bastards in Athens don't deserve me!

'.....Icarus....' I thought his name with a scowl.

"Just you wait."

===================================
