4 I shall make a spike out of you 2/2

While thinking about the philosopher's stone, I hear footsteps coming in my direction.

"Thinking about your success young master?" says my butler.

"More like thinking about the next steps." I reply.

"Hmmm, I see. Well do remember that you are extremely young, young master. I believe non other in this world has achieved what you have at your age, so it is okey to not be in a hurry and take a break instead."

"Heh, don't worry about something like that, after all I would never do anything that I don't want to." I said, it would have probably looked really badass if I wasn't a five year old drinking apple juice.

My butler showed a small smile at that.

"I see, in that case I can stay calm." he says

"Indeed. By the way, did you call my parents?" I ask him.

"Yes I have. They will be returning next week to see what you have succeeded at. They sounded quite proud and excited young master."

Huh, is he like trying to comfort me or something? He knows I don't particularly care about them though. Weird, but whatever.

"I see, well I suppose I have some time to try and improve things."

After 10 days of wait, my mom arrived. Dad would come tomorrow which means I am alone with mom... totally not awkward at all.

"I was told that you completed the transmutation circle you were working on." she said while cutting the steak on her plate.

"Yes I have, do you wish to see it now or tomorrow when father arrives?" I ask her.

I am quite confident in the results since I managed to properly understand the circle itself and it is amazing. Honestly whoever created this alchemy is an absolute beast of a genius.

"I suppose we could wait for your father to arrive tomorrow. In the meantime, tell me how you have been."

"Pretty good I guess. Oh right, almost forgot but I had to deal with this annoying maid, she kept pestering around until she watched me doing some alchemy. She would have been dealt with anyway so I figured I could put her to better use, don't worry though, her noble sacrifice helped me improve my transmutation circle." I said in a slightly sarcastic tone.

That's right, I had to kill Alessia. She got too annoying. Kept thinking because I was a kid she would be in charge, also her attitude was really hard to deal with, and she was quite petty. Trying to take away my dessert privileges and getting me to bed early even after telling her to stop. I even had to punish the idiot head maid that placed her in charge of me.

That's right, it might sound a bit messed up, but I hate nothing more than not being allowed to do as I wish when I wish. Especially so in my own f*cking house.

My mom smiled a bit after hearing I experimented on her.

"Hmm, good job. If her life helped you improve then she should be glad." and there it is, the reason why things are so awkward with mom, she keeps trying to get me to understand that human life only has as much value as we give it.

I suppose nothing else could be expected from someone who focuses on creating chimeras to make the life of magus easier. Need some weird creature? She can make it for you. Wether it is a pegasus or unicorn, by combining different properties of different animals she can make them. Sure they can't fly like pegasus should do and unicorns don't heal wounds with their horn like they should, but they are still pleasing to look at.

I am pretty sure she would like for me to follow into her footsteps, especially after knowing I have an unnaturally high talent for alchemy, but f*ck no.

The rest of the dinner was a bit weird, with my mom explaining how her newest research involves trying to make a phoenix my mixing the healing aspect of a reptile's dna into the body of a bird. The next step would be adding the fire but she arrived to the conclusion that mixing the heal factor should come before adding the fire.

Well the conversation was actually quite interesting, I mean she is trying to make a f*cking phoenix who wouldn't want to see that succeeding am I right?

I kept asking her questions like what would the fire use as fuel to continue burning constantly, to which she told me she hadn't found the answer yet.

Well I am quite sure she would succeed, she is quite the genius in the whole bio-alchemy thing and has a thing for pretty stuff so she doesn't lack the determination.

Her greatest achievement was adding dna parts while suppressing others. That is how she managed to turn a horse-bird hybrid into a pegasus. Up until her, all previous attempts turned out into horrible hybrids with bizarre appearance, but her experiments managed to create actually pretty creatures.

In the magus society, where nobility reigns supreme and pride is fed daily, having something like a pegasus or a unicorn is actually necessary to represent status and wealth. Hence mom has made quite a lot of money.

Once we finished eating dinner, we each left to do our own things.

Tomorrow dad will arrive. He will be impressed by my alchemy no doubt and hopefully will give me permission to get buy a lot of guns. I need to familiarise myself with as many as possible so that the next alchemy I will focus on is as great as I expect it to be.

When my dad finally arrived and left his assistant to prepare his stuff, he came in my direction.

"I heard you completed the alchemy circle you were dedicating your time to." he said.

"Yes, I have finished it. Do you want to see it now?" I ask.

"Sure, has your mother already seen it?"

"No, I will show it to both of you now."

"Very well."

As we make our way to the largest room of the house, specially designed for experiments and magic usage, we can see my mom already waiting there for us.

"Okey then, here is the transmutation circle I created." I say as I place the paper with the drawing on the floor.

Clasping my hands together for dramatic purposes, I then put both on the paper right next to the circle and use a bit of mana to kickstart the process and shape the spike to extend upwards.

I turn around to look at them and they seem quite impressed. Well they just saw a five year old create a spike that could kill anyone using a circle designed by himself.

Suddenly my dad's smile widens before he proceeds to congratulate me.

Afterwards I stayed talking a bit with them about the applications, which includes creating spikes in people or of people if you manage to get the circle on them. That is what I learned thanks to Alessia's noble sacrifice, after drawing the circle on her back, I activated it and managed to make spikes that came out of her body and spikes that went into her body.

It was a pretty gruesome scene, but having already experienced death is pretty good at making you numb to this stuff, or is it perhaps because ether knowledge about alchemy in my head contains stuff much more messed up than the death of someone.

When I finally went to bed, I couldn't get the fact that my dad gave me permission to buy guns pretty much instantly. I thought magus believed guns to be beneath them but I guess it isn't much trouble to use guns in order to create something, I mean they have no trouble using people for that so why would they care about guns?
