3 I shall make a spike out of you 1/2

After earning myself a lecture from the butler of the house, I went back to my room.

It is actually quite funny how the maids run to snitch on me with the butler because he is the only one who I kind of listen to. Well I like the guy, he is pretty cool and teaches me a bit about guns.

While the Cold War doesn't really affect a rich magus family from Italy, there are still clear tensions in the environment so it is not really weird for the butler of an extremely rich family to have a couple of guns.

Anyway I have already started messing with the transmutation circles trying to complete them. While having chemistry knowledge nearly half a century ahead of this time is helpful, alchemy involves a lot of other stuff like usage of mana and most importantly, appropriate symbolic representation in the circle.

From the alchemies that I got the knowledge about, the only one with actual defensive capabilities besides the philosopher's stone is Scar's alchemy. The problem with that one is that it involves a bit of alkahestry which is fundamentally different from alchemy.

Well I chose to start with Armstrong's spike alchemy and then I will learn Basque Grand's alchemy. Basque Grand's alchemy is pretty great since I have an actual person teaching me about guns while Armstrong's alchemy seems to be the simplest among all, it will serve as a good base to see how to work with alchemy appropriately.

Ugh this was way harder than I expected it would be. There is definitely improvement and I feel like I am getting closer to the answer, the problem is finalising the transmutation circle. It is pretty much like trying to arm a puzzle in which the missing piece can have any f*cking form in existence.

Whatever, I am satisfied with the fact that it is close to getting done. My parents are quite thrilled as well about having me make a transmutation circle. It is not like they are going to sell it or something, they simply want the prestige. Sigh, aristocracy is really annoying, with that being said I am currently on a trip to Greece to celebrate something a paper from my father getting approved.

Apparently it was very impressive, especially since he is a third generation nobleman form the magus association and is decently talented I guess. Not really a prodigy or a genius but also very smart, capable and dedicated.

Well, he better be because he is neglecting his son so much it makes me feel like the main character of a shonen anime. God please don't let this be a shonen anime.

Anyway, while I was definitely 'enjoying' our time in Greece, which constituted of dad bragging, mom praising him while also bragging about herself, some talk about their messed up experiments that made me loose my faith in humanity, a bit of running around here and there while mom and dad were totally NOT having sex and a day at the beach with my butler and two maids, it was finally time to return.

I am a busy person you know? I can't give this two more than a week of my time... and neither can them.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA FINALLY!"

Igniting the transmutation circle on the floor, a huge spike launched upwards from it., piercing the ceiling of my room and causing part of it to fall down.

I continued to laugh like a madman watching the sheer size and girth of the huge spike... okey I can't do this, how could I compare something as pathetic as an above average size d*ck with the absolute beauty that is the spike I created?

Suddenly, my butler breaks the door and enters the room holding a gun on his hand, after watching the room for a moment and looking at the grin on my face, he lowered his gun and bowed a bit.

"I apologise for the sudden intrusion young master, it appears that congratulations are in order right?" he said while maintaining the small bow.

"Oh they definitely are! Let's go, also call mother and father and tell them that their son is f*cking amazing!" I said while leaving the room to go stay elsewhere.

"I see, in that case congratulations young master, I will inform the master and the mistress about your success. Do you want me to get you anything to celebrate?" he asked politely after congratulating me.

"Hmmm, sure, I am in the mood for some apple juice. Also I will improve the circle so I will have to keep the project for a while longer, but as soon as I finish it I will start working on the next one, so I will need some guns. I trust you know which the best ones are and where to get them right?" I asked in a slightly commanding voice while looking at him.

"Of course young master." he said while smiling a bit.

It is not strange for magus to have some servants (I mean maids and butlers) that know about magic. Though the Mage's Association is quite strict in terms of this regulations, they also know no magus is actually going to clean up their mess, especially nobles, so there is a specific number set per house.

In our case since dad is a third generation noble man he gets to have three servants that know about magic, one is a maid that is always following mom around and cleaning up her mess, or so I think I don't actually know for sure but whatever. The other one is dad's assistant and, lastly, there is my butler who pretty much takes care of me. Once I inherit the house, we get to have one more servant who knows about magic since I am a fourth generation nobleman.

I am not sure how this rule works for the lords, but I guess they should have more knowledgeable servants than nobles.

As I make my way towards the garden, I can't help but think about countless different possible ways to improve the circle, even if only a bit. Of course I know all except one of those countless ways will result in failure, and that is if I am lucky and actually manage to figure out the right path to improve it, sigh.

Alchemy really is hard, so many details and specific guidelines that must be followed and no one to teach them to me. Tsch using a power system from a different universe is annoying when it is incomplete but whatever.

Arriving at the garden I sit on one of the several benches it has while waiting for my apple juice to arrive. Looking at the stars I can't help but think about what I really want to do with my life. I know I want to participate in the Fourth Holy Grail war, but what would I even wish? What is it that I want to accomplish here?

Knowing that finding the answer to my questions may take years, I chose to take my mind away from it for a while and think instead of what I need to survive.

I don't think I will ever stand a chance against the biggest players, against being like Beasts. Heck I don't think I will ever reach the level of a Grand servant or even a strong regular servant for that matter. That doesn't mean however that I won't be able to absolutely stomp other magus with my alchemy knowledge.

The most valuable thing in my head is without a doubt the knowledge of the philosopher's stone which, while being really op, also has several flaws.

First of I won't be able to create suns on the palm of my hand or obtain godhood like Father did, I think it was because he used his philosopher's stone to chain down god or something like that and in this world the only things that come to mind are Alaya and Gaia which no thanks, I know next to nothing about them so I won't be messing around being that can destroy my timeline if I fuck up.

Even then, my philosopher's stone is more incomplete than any other, I think it is Tim Marco's version, which lacked Father's final knowledge input, but then again, I cant really complain. The question is how to put one on myself, I am thinking that turning myself into a homunculi would be the answer, but I don't want to do that just yet.
