8 Third Night

"Here's the plan. First, you will go to school like everything is normal." Evander said as he sat on the couch with his legs crossed.

Rin sat on the couch right opposite him and listened attentively.

"And, you will find an opportunity to approach the boy."

"Boy?"

"Yeah. The boy with Saber servant."

"Emiya. Got it. But why?"

"From what I inferred from this morning, Sakura and that boy should be pretty close. You will tell him to call Sakura to his house tonight. Don't want her to get caught in the crossfire do you?"

"Got it. But what are you going to do?" Rin asked as she tilted her head.

"Hmm…" Evander stroked his chin in thought. "I believe, in simple terms; I will nuke the shit out of their house."

"You wha-!"

***

At school.

'Oh wow. School is boring.' Evander thought as he waited by Rin's side in incorporeal form as she had her lessons.

*Ring*

Finally the school bell rang and signaled the end of the lesson. Rin got up from her seat and went to find Shirou, who was in the student council room to fix a few heaters.

Rin found him with no problem and pulled him to the side.

"Tohsaka? What's going on?" He asked.

"Emiya, tell me, is Sakura someone important to you?" Rin asked as she narrowed her eyes with her hands on her hips.

"Sakura…? Why are you asking me this?" Shirou asked in response.

"Don't answer my question with another question! Just answer. Is Sakura important to you?" Rin asked once again while getting irritated.

"Of course she is important to me!" Shirou replied.

"Good. Then tell her to come to your house tonight. Even better, go to your house together and make sure she doesn't go back to her house." Rin said as she crossed her arms.

"Why? What is going on Tohsaka?"

"You don't need to know Emiya." Rin said as she turned her back to Shirou. "…just promise me that you will treasure Sakura no matter what happens."

"Tohs-" Shirou was about to say before he was cut off.

"Promise me!" Rin yelled with fury from remembering her sister's situation.

"…I promise." Shirou was finally able to understand that there was something wrong with Sakura and nodded his head with resolve.

"Good." Rin said as she left the place. "Now, it's all up to you Archer. Don't fail me." She said with an almost inaudible voice.

"Leave it to me Rin."

***

In the archery club.

"Senpai?" Sakura asked as she couldn't believe her eyes. Because Shirou visited her in the archery club and wanted to talk to her in private.

Shirou had never visited her like this before.

"Umm Sakura, can you come over today?" Shirou asked as he scratched his head.

"Eh? Why, is there something wrong senpai?" Sakura asked as her hopes were getting up a little but she knew in her heart that there was some sort of problem. Because Shirou wasn't a person to invite her to his house for his own agenda.

"Um that uh it is… ah! It is Saber! Yes. Saber. Saber has some girl problems and I don't know much about those stuff and you were the first person that came to my mind." Shirou said with a slowly increasing confidence in his lie.

"I… see." Sakura said as her hopes were crushed once again. "But wouldn't Fujimura-sensei be better?"

"Uhh no. She said that she had some stuff to take care of so she couldn't come."

"I understand. I will finish the stuff here first and will visit you later senpai." Sakura said as she nodded her head.

"Ah O-" Shirou was about to agree with her before he stopped and said, "I will wait for you here Sakura." If what he inferred from Rin's behavior this morning, Sakura must be in danger so it was better for him to stay by her side.

"You will… wait for me?" Sakura asked unsure of herself.

"Yeah. I will be here." Shirou said as another person with purple hair approached them. Shinji.

"Emiya, what are you doing here? Don't tell me you are planning to return to the club." Shinji said with his usual sarcastic tone.

"No I don't Shinji." Shirou replied.

"Hmm. Is that so? What were you talking with my sister then?" Shinji asked again as he looked at Sakura who lowered her head.

"Nothing. It's just I needed her help with something at my house."

"Oh? Is that true, Sakura?"

"Yes. Nii-san."

"It's fine then. Don't be late okay? The streets are dangerous these days, I might get worried." Shinji said as he put a hand on Sakura's shoulder and whispered as he was walking by her, "You don't want to miss out on our brother - sister bonding time, do you? Hahah" then left the duo to their own devices.

***

At night.

'Well, tracking needle was unnecessary.' Evander thought as he was standing on top of the Tohsaka manor as he gazed at a distant house.

For normal people, such a distance was impossible to be see clearly.

But he was an Archer. And one of the best ones on top of that.

He could count how many bricks were used to build the Matou manor even from this distance.

"Are you ready Archer?" Rin asked from the side with an anxious expression.

"Yep. Both Shinji and Zouken are in the house. Time is perfect." He said as a black bow materialized in his hand.

It was Belthronding.

The bow that turned any arrow into a missile of death. Even if a regular tree brach without any inkling of supernatural in it was shot from this bow, it would have the power of an E rank Noble Phantasm.

For other Archers, this bow might not be strong. But in Evander's hand with countless high rank Noble Phantasms that he can use as projectiles, Belthronding was unstoppable.

It could increase the Noble Phantasms' rank by one if shot by this bow. But for C rank and above, Belthronding's name had to be called.

After that, a thin, long dagger appeared in his hand. The hilt was covered with vines and even the whole blade had a woody feeling.

Because it was made from the branch of the oldest tree known to man, border lining on the divine.

Its blade was dull and couldn't even cut a paper. But the tip of the dagger was another story. It was sharp, and also had the properties of anti-magic.

That's why, it was a superb arrow for Evander.

There was another reason for that too.

"Mercy in the hand," Evander chanted as he nocked Dailir on to Belthronding.

Dailir and Belthronding was a set and was meant to be used together.

"The point bites deep," Dailir elongated and took on a more arrow like shape.

Belthronding could increase Dailir's power much more than any other weapon and strengthen its anti-magic properties.

"Ends the mystery," Enormous amounts of mana started gathering around Evander and caused his skirt to flap in the wind.

'This is-!' Rin had to take a few steps back while covering her head. 'Archer class really is made up of Archers!'

"Even the mightiest are unmade by a touch," Evander pulled the string without taking his eyes off his target, then pointed Belthronding towards the sky above the Matou manor.

If Dailir was shot by Belthronding while targeting the air, it would rain down a countless amounts of arrow shaped lights with anti-magic properties.

"Dailir——Belthronding!" Evander said as he let go of the string.

*Boom!*

Came the aftershocks of the sound barrier being broken.

*Crack!*

The tiles above the Tohsaka manor disappeared from the force and Rin was about to be thrown off the roof if not for Evander's timely help.

A golden light traveled through the sky and disappeared above the clouds.

***

"Hmm?" Zouken hummed as he looked at the golden light that disappeared above the clouds.

There was an uneasy feeling in his heart. That's why he trusted it and crumbled into countless worms and scattered.

To extend his life, he became a being of worms. But he didn't regret it. Anything was fine as long as he could live forever.

***

The golden light also attracted Shinji's attention.

He stood by the window as he waited for what was going to happen next. His servant Rider wasn't with him because he sent her to gather mana for herself by feeding onto humans in the city, so he couldn't ask anybody about what the light was.

But it was okay since he could find it out by himself.

Then a golden light shone on Matou manor as clouds parted.

"Uhk!" Shinji was forced to shield his eyes, but he forced himself to take a peek. "Sun?" Was his last word as destruction rained on the Matou manor.

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

It was an endless barrage of light arrows.

***

Zouken gazed at Matou manor as golden light shone on it. "I was right." He said. His instincts helped him survive till now, and they still didn't fail him.

Then he watched as destruction rained on his manor.

The only person in there was Shinji so he didn't feel like he wasted anything. If it was Sakura, all his efforts until now would have been for nothing and he might have felt a little annoyed at that, but there was no such thing for Shinji.

There was no danger for him because he was far away from the manor and only a few worms were there to transmit any information regarding his assailant to him.

So, he simply watched as his manor became ruins.

And that became his ruin.

He didn't know that the attack had the properties of anti-magic.

The worms that were hit by the light wilted under its might.

But it didn't end there.

Dailir was the bane of all supernatural. The anti-magic property followed through the connections of the worms and every worm scattered across the city withered, turned to dust and disappeared as if they never existed.

The worms that made up his body included. "No… no no no no NO! I don't want to die!" His legs disappeared first as he dropped on the ground.

He tried to transfer his consciousness to another worm but it was useless. He couldn't feel any of them.

Then his arms disappeared.

"No no no I will live! I will… live!" Then his torso scattered with the wind. "I don't wanna die! I… will… live… forever…" then the existence of Zouken Matou disappeared completely.

And that included the worm in Sakura's body.

***

"Sakura!" Shirou yelled as Sakura suddenly dropped on the ground.

Because the worm that controlled her nerves disappeared, Sakura lost consciousness.

***

"Mission accomplished Rin." Evander said as he looked at the ruins of Matou manor.

"Are you sure he's dead?" Rin asked as he also looked at the destruction caused by her servant.

"Yep. 100%. Now we just have to deal with Sakura." Evander said.

"Let's go." Rin said as she waited for Evander to pick her up.

***

"Hmm? Oh? Ah that old magus disappeared. Lucky me. This made things a lot easier."

In a dark cave, stood a man with a pale golden skin, white long hair and pointed ears.

He had luxurious mage robes on his body with a staff with a human skull etched on the top that shone in a vile purple hue.

Numerous undead kneeled around him.

"Being summoned in this war was a surprise but a welcome one nonetheless. Soon, the name Molag Bal will be forgotten. Soon, all of Tamriel, nay, all universes will bow down before me! Soon, the God of Schemes will have a new name: **********!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matous are dead! Good riddance.
Also, as you might have guessed Caster is different in this war. He comes from the TES lore and those who are well versed in the lore probably know who he is already~
Anyways let me know your thoughts yeah?
And as always, comments, stones and reviews are welcome^^
