The name of Lawang Sewu might not be so popular internationally. However, it is an entirely different case in Indonesia. Even a small kid less than five years old would know about Lawang Sewu if you asked them about it.

To make it simple, Lawang Sewu is a super popular haunted spot in Indonesia.

Like its name, Lawang Sewu was said to have more than a thousand doors inside it and more than a thousand haunted spirits. A few television channels tried to make a program in it, but nevertheless, none of them ended up with a happy ending.

After the awakening, the popularity of haunted spots decreased significantly as most people started to feel that danger-beast were a lot more terrifying than haunted spots. Still, some special haunted spots have mutated and become dungeons, and Lawang Sewu was one of the examples.
