2 Chapter Two - The System
Jake left the bed with an effort man this body is weak, wandered around the house to check it. We live in a two-bedroom farm, the living room and the kitchen open to each other, there is a chimney in the living room man that's some old stuff never seen on in my life I always see it either in an anime or a rich house in the movies. I walked to the farm to see it, man it an unhappy sight there is nothing plant, weeds are everywhere; the soil, not nutrient enough and there a lot of bugs. There is a chicken coop (hen house) here but no chickens. What got my attention is that there is Pen.
Pen is a small enclosure for livestock (especially sheep or cattle); So, I was taking back, how come we have all this and suddenly we became poor, so I went to my mum and asked her
"Mum how come we have this big farm but it's empty what happens to it? I can see that we use to have chicken coop and cattle's pen but its empty where are they? And the soil why is it hard like it's never been planted before?"
Jake has been searching his memory, but found nothing in this useless person memory, he just eats, sleep and go out never cared about the farm he just cared about himself.
"Sigh….. finally, someone to share my burden". She stopped talking a looked at me with a lovely look.
"Some time ago everything was green here in Bluefield, the farms were full planted with vegetables and fruits. I was so beautiful, you remember the apple tree that we use to have, everything was fine and your father was a decent farmer. Our farm produces a lot of things and we had a good income from it. We bought a chicken coop and a Pen so we can have some extra income and we wanted to keep expanding, life was so good. One day the sun colour change and it become night and but it was still a morning time, a big swarm of grasshopper came and ate everything in the village and that grasshopper had kind of disease that infect all the animals, it wasn't long until every animal died. Some of the village people died from heartbreak and your dad was one of them. If I left with him what are you going to do? I was holding myself and think of a way but I am just good at housekeeping work and the town is far from here." She talked while crying telling me the story of how we become like this.
"Don't cry mom, am here now with you. we will think of a way to keep living so don't worry am young I can work, and I will be the man of the house you don't need to worry anymore I just want to see you smile every day". Jake said that while hugging my mom. I need to take some responsibility.
She kept nodding her head agreeing with me, I left the room heading to the farm looking for something I might do. I watched a lot of documentary-like Plant earth. While Jake was looking, Jake touches the soil to see if I can fix it like fertilizing it or something.
"Ding Farming Empire system ready finished installing. Start? Y/N"
A mechanical voice suddenly appeared in Jake head. Jake jumped and looked around in a panic. "who said that? Who are you? Where are you?
"Ding Farming Empire system ready finished installing. Start? Y/N"
Jake barely finished asking the and the voice came again causing Jake face colour to change endlessly
"Start" even though everything that happens was unbelievable, Jake read enough novels and mangas to calm himself down to respond.
"Ding. Farming Empire system is online and merged with the host body. Host want to open the System?"
The mechanical voice stopped and in his mind, an image appears.
"Open" Jake yield, nothing happens when he yields in his mind, Something strange happened, he was transported from the farm to an open space. Infinite grassland views he can see in his both eyes, a big mountain on the left with a cloud all around and there is a big river on the right side of his view. The air is so clean and in the middle of the grassland, there is a small house with a fence around it.
Jake walked to the house in an amazement on his face, when he stepped in the house fence door a voice came out of nowhere.
"Welcome host to the Farming Empire system. Here are the system zone and the farming guide of how you can use it. Do you want a tutorial about the system?"
"Yes Please, and can I see whom I am speaking to" Jake Said
A small cat came out of the house, walking toward me at a slow pace looking at me.
"My name is Daisy and I am your guide. You are a Level one user, this system is a levelling system which means with every level up you will get a gift. There is a mission bar it optional if you want to finish it. It's up to you, but when you finish a mission you can get a lot of experience to make you level up faster. As you are a level one user, you will get a 50 acre of land that you can farm and plant in it.To farm in the system you just bring the seed that you want to plant and command it to plant it for you on the farm. The duration that it takes to plant is 6 hours, then you can harvest it and plant new plants and so on. Every time you level up the space of your farm will expand. You have a store that has a virality of seed for you to choose from. The money unite here is Gold coins so you can only buy by gold coins. You can bring money from outside and exchange it with the system, so you can buy from our shop. Do you have any questions Meow?" Daisy said after explaining everything to me
Jake blanked wooow I got a system and it a farming one, now I can save our lives and make my mum never suffer again.
"So, I got a gift right, so what is it," Jake asked hoping for something good.
"The system gives you 5o Seeds of potatoes, so you can plant them any time you want "Daisy answered me while licking her paw.
"So how do a level up I don't see my experience bar anywhere?" Jake asked while wondering about this question.
"Level one user needs 100 experience to level up and if you want to know your progress you can ask me Meow," Daisy said.
"Can you plant the potatoes for me please and where can I check the store?" Jake said.
"Yes, in a minute all the seed will be planning and to check the store, you can enter the house and use the computer inside to check what we have Meow," Daisy said.
Jake entered the house, it was a two-bedroom house, a big living room and a kitchen, there are two bathrooms so I guess we solved this problem ;P and there is a small private room with a desk and a computer. I open the computer to check the store product but DAMN!!! This is expansive as hell. the vegetable seeds are for 20 gold for 10 seeds and the fruits are 30 gold for 10.
" Daisy why are they so expensive like this I don't think I can afford them," Jake said with a complex expression.
"Jake you just need to know one thing the things that it's growing here is different from the outside. It gets clean water, a nourishment soil, a good environment and the best temperature to grow so how come do you think its this expansive it supposed to be cheap Meow" Daisy said with an angry look.
"Okay, fine but I have a question if I brought some seeds from outside can I plant them here?" Jake was wondering if he could do it, then it will be much easy and fast, so he can sell them and gain some extra money.
