I'll always be here

The next morning, Da Xia and her husbands had an early breakfast before the three of them headed toward the farming land located right behind their small cottage-like house.

It was a good thing that their house was located a little outside of the village, near the foot of the Phoenix Peaks. The closest neighboring house was located almost at a distance of over a hundred yards and a lot of trees and bushes hid their house from any prying eyes.

This gave them the perfect opportunity to live a secluded life. After all, the people of Jia Province were still not aware of the fact that the Li brothers had already died the very night they got married.

Who knew what kind of rumors would spread if anyone saw her talking to thin air all day? She would be labeled as a psycho and that was the last thing she wanted to happen, especially when she needed to establish a good connection with the villagers to finish her ultimate mission.

"How long is it going to take?" Da Xia asked as she looked around the farming land that her husbands owned.

Though the field was pretty small, it was still enough for their family of just three people. Besides, she wasn't planning to grow any crops. Instead, she planned to use this limited area of land to grow veggies and fruits along with some herbs and spices.

"I'll be able to finish plowing the field by noon." Li Wei answered as he started folding his sleeves and the bottom of his pants to get ready to work in the fields.

"Are you sure that you don't want my help?" Da Xia asked even though she already knew that he was going to dismiss her offer of help.

"I didn't marry you to make you work in the fields. You are already doing a lot of hard work, don't push yourself too much. Let me plow the field. You and Jun'er should rest." Li Wei immediately replied as he gave her a soft smile before turning away to focus on his work.

Da Xia didn't try to argue with him over the matter. It was a good thing that she had someone like Li Wei to help her out with such hard labor. Though she knew that she could manage it on her own, it was also true that this new body of hers was only trained to do household work and not fieldwork.

The original owner of the body had three elder brothers who used to help her father in the fields while she along with her little sister and mother, used to take care of the house and cattle.

"Fine! I'll listen to you. I'm going home to do the usual cleaning. I will be here at noon with our lunch." She told Li Wei who nodded his head in approval. Not wasting another minute, Da Xia returned to their little house with Li Jun.

This time, it took her barely half an hour to clean the house which gifted her another fifty prowess points. After cleaning the house, she assembled all her dirty dresses and went into the front yard to wash them.

"What did you use to do when Ah Wei went out to work?" Da Xia asked Jun'er who had been silently sitting in front of the kitchen all this time. There was a look of helplessness mixed with sadness on his face.

Her question made him sigh as he answered, "There's nothing that I can do. There was no one who could teach me housework and my brother was always out working hard to earn money. He never let me help him in the fields and I would have only caused him trouble if I accompanied him into the forest. I'm just a good-for-nothing."

"What rubbish! No one is a good-for-nothing. I'm here with you and we both will find out something that you will like and enjoy doing. Alright?" she looked at her young husband who was looking at her with the softest gaze that she had ever seen.

"What's wrong?" she asked in a soft voice when she suddenly saw his eyes becoming shiny because of unshed tears.

As an answer to her question, Li Jun wrapped both of his hands around her as he pulled her into a warm hug. "You are so good to me and brother. I'm so happy that you are here with us," he whispered before resting his chin against her head.

Da Xia felt a smile blooming on her lips as she took a deep breath and let herself relax in his arms. It felt good to be hugged. For her, hugs were the best medicine to cure tiredness, sadness, and any other sort of mental breakdown.

"I will always be here with you and Ah Wei," she told him and felt him nodding his head as he tightened his arms around her.

While the two sat there in silence, enjoying each other's company in serenity, the kitty-cub decided to help its master once for a change.

[Master, I just found another great function of the system. I'm sure it will help you a lot.]

For a moment, Da Xia wanted to ignore the kitty as she was not in the mood to waste such a beautiful and calming moment between her and Li Jun, to be destroyed because she ended up not liking whatever this new feature of the system was that the kitty had found. But at the last moment, she changed her mind.

[Go on.] She told the kitty-cub through their mind link and waited patiently.

[Master, there's a feature in the system that will allow you to exchange your prowess points for actual money. One prowess point is worth five copper coins of the outside world.] The kitty excitedly revealed.

Indeed! It was a great function but Da Xia could not find any reason to be happy after hearing about this great feature of the system. She still needed two hundred prowess points to buy a house for the bees. How could she find points to exchange for money in her current situation?
