4 Crown!

Chapter 4

[What is this?]

Bryan brought out the next box but it did not come out as Bryan got the feedback in his brain.

[Woah! Sleeping Pillows. This is way too high tech. Mental waves, Hypnosis, What the fuck?]

[This should sell easily. I just need to buy raw materials. Production lines uses money as well to run, this is the only drawback. I still need a team of bots to operate it. This won't be useful anytime soon.]

[What's the last one?]

Bryan focussed his sight on the last box. It was a little different from the previous ones. The box looked metallic like platinum and gold with a crown engraved on it.

As he brought the box out of his system space, the box turned into a crown, a real life crown with a large gem.

Bryan had never seen something so good. The red gem glowed inside his unlit room which should not be possible.

[Prince's Crown.] Bryan only knew the name of the crown.

[Why did I not get the feedback in my brain? What does this do?]

Bryan held the crown in his hand confused. There was nothing he could do.

[Is it just jewellery?]

He put it on his head to try it. It seemed like the next obvious thing to do.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

The crown started melting or more like melding with his skin, dissolving onto his skin. Bryan had never felt the pain like this before. The genetic enhancement pill was a walk in the park compared to this.

Bryan had a stronger body than any human being, still there was only one natural response of the body to this pain.

With a thud, he passed out on the ground.

In his dreams, Bryan saw where the world where the system might have originated. Bryan saw the journey of a boy who became the king of that world in the dream.

The level of technology it had reached. Bryan could see how the King ruled at that place. It wasn't a democracy but a magocracy where power determined who ruled the world.

Finally, it was time for the coronation when the Bryan who had felt like he was seeing King's life, it was his moment, even he was excited and cheering for the boy who lived. But as he wanted the king to rule, he woke up. Back to reality in his dorm room.

But the person who had gone into the dream was Bryan of the past but the person now was not exactly the same. He felt like he had passed the system tutorial or something.

A king isn't born, it is made by steel and suffering. Suffer he did as he watched prince make mistakes, his frustration peaked. Over time, he evolved with the man he was stuck inside.

The man who had unified the 7 worlds. The man who had become the king.

[Did the king get attacked? why is it so dark?] Bryan thought as he slowly opened his eyes.

[No, I am back.] He was not sure how he felt about coming back. It was a classic case of Stockholm syndrome. He had become a passive viewer, a hostage in the tutorial but he still wanted to see more.

He switched on the lights and checked himself in the mirror.

[...]

His face, it was the same but his eyes. His eyes were red. Not the eyes of a boy in his first year at college. Bryan felt a little scared looking at his own eyes.

Grr!

It was this moment he was reminded of something he needed the most and quickly forgot about the painful dream he had gone through.

[Fuck, how many days did I sleep on the floor]

Bryan fumbled for his phone as he checked it for date and time.

"It's the next night. So just 16 hours then. That's a relief. It felt like centuries inside that dream."

Grr!

[No wonder my stomach is growling. At least you are in this world's clothes. Let's go and eat.]

Bryan needed to satisfy his most primal need. He needed to satisfy it before he could think of anything else.

Bryan walked out of his dorm room into a long corridor. His room was on the first floor so he just went out, directly to the entrance gate of Uni. of SoCal.

He saw the sights of the campus. It was way past midnight but the road was livelier than ever. No one slept early. The same as the last Earth.

[It's the same.]

He exited the gate and saw the stand. He went ahead to order.

"5 burgers with extra cheese."  He ordered.

Bryan did not remember the last meal he had, he was too hungry to order just a regular portion as the starters.

Bryan looked at the burgers which seemed ready. He was already salivating when the foodstand seller gestured towards them.

He went ahead and got the burgers.

The empty stand had a huge line of customers. Bryan had gotten weird gazes at him for such a large order for a single person.

He took the burgers and brought them back to his bench.

He started eating his burgers with the complementary coke. Some things had not changed in the parallel world. It still felt like home.

Bryan was minding his business on the bench, waiting for customers to leave so he could line up again. It was at this he felt someone walking towards them. Normal Bryan might not have noticed it but now his senses were sharper because of the potion.

He looked to see who it was.
