I have this idea that I can't get out of my head.

Robert Baratheon is still Robert.

{The morning of the Battle of The Trident, General POV}

Robert Baratheon the rebels leader was anxious to meet the crown prince in battle and kill him, the scouts reported that the loyalists forces were going to cross the Trident today, so Robert, Ned and Jon agreed to march as fast as they can to the Trident without tiring the troops.

Robert knew that he had less men than the other side, but his men were experienced and he wanted to catch the prince's forces as they were crossing the river and not fight all of them at once .

Robert was angry but level headed, he knew that if they win this they would win the war, and as much as he loved the war, some of his men didn't and he can't afford to make this war any longer, he was anxious about his betrothed, he can only imagine what the prince did to her, he knew that she wouldn't be a virgin when he finds her, he just hopes that her mind was intact, he heard stories of victims that took their own lives after what happened to them.

Even in his own mind he can't think of the word that starts with R, he is going to kill the man that stole his betrothed and then bring justice to his best friend family by killing his father.

As the march continued, the scouts reported that the loyalists were crossing, Robert shouted at the men to push forward " that is it men today we will make history, today we will end the corrupt dynasty, the mad prince is going to die today and his mad father will soon follow. Do you what your families to live in constant fear of a mad king and his son, or do you want them to be safe, today we will end the tyranny of the son and tomorrow we will end the father's"

"Today is the day that we will be remembered by, either we are victories or are we not. Don't let the evil win, so brothers who's with me, who want a better life for his family, who want a better tomorrow, who's brave enough to follow me again to the jaws of death and come back as victors"

Robert looked at the men behind him and all of them had a fire in their eyes, a fire that promised death to all that opposed them, so he got his warhammer and left it up in the air " down with the tyrants. for a better tomorrow!" he yelled the last part.

The troops went wild "our is the fury" "winter is coming" "as high as honor" and a dozen different war cries, Robert turned his back and rode like a man possessed, they caught the loyalists in their last crossing, most of them were already on the rebels side of the shore, the rebels forces moved faster as arrows from both sides started falling .

Both sides clashed at the north side of the river, the fighting was fearsome and chaotic, men from both sides were dropping like flies, on the left flank Jon Arryn led the Vale knights and crushed the loyalists forces that were led by prince Lewyn Martell, the said prince died by the hand of Ser Lyn Corbray, although he was mortally wounded before his final duel with Lyn.

Ned was holding the right flank but neither side was winning, although the Northmen fought fearlessly but their enemy had the numbers.

In the middle of the battle Robert fought like the warrior incarnate, he had a shield in his left hand and a warhammer in the right, he kept bashing heads left and right, then he spotted the crown prince " RHAEGAR! , you rapist come and die like the coward that you are" Robert yelled at the top of his voice and changed at Rhaegar.

It was an unspoken agreement on both sides that the leaders of both sides will fight one on one duel and nobody interfered with them.

Robert fought with fury that matched his hours words, the fighting was intense and the onlookers didn't see a clear victor, suddenly the prince brought his sword on Robert's unguarded left side, if the blow connected the Robert would have been injured, but in the last moment he brought his shield up blocking the blow in the process, but losing the shield.

Robert warhammer came to the prince breastplate with an impossible speed afterwards, Robert put all his hatred in that swing and with it the prince breastplate caved in, the rubies decorating it shattered in all directions.

Robert looked down at the dying prince and saw that he was about to speak so he drove the spiked end of his warhammer through his head.

The onlookers had two different reactions, the rebels cheered as the saw their lord kill the prince. and the loyalists had a fearful silence as they watched their prince fall, some stared to run away immediately and others wanted to avenge him, but the cries of the rebels was heard throughout the battlefield, the all knew that Robert killed the prince, and the loyalists moral crumbled, their forces retreated in a chaotic fashion.

Some choose to fight, and others surrendered but most choose to flee. By the end of the day the rebels had been the clear victor and now they had a clear road to King's Landing.

{Robert POV}

We gathered after the battle to discuss what we will do next, I couldn't help but remember gleefully the moment that my warhammer crushed that cowardly prince, it's one of my favorite moment in my life, I hated the man every time I think of him I think of my beloved Lyanna and how much she must have suffered under him, I want to kill him again if I could.

I knew that the war was as good as over, so as I was listening to one of the men giving a report on the condition of the men, we lost some men but not a lot , although we had many injuries they were mostly infantrymen, and then a report came saying that the lion was marching to King's Landing.

" I will lead the vanguard with Ned, hopefully we can arrive there before the Lannisters , we don't want to this to be a long siege" and that is what I feared, I can't let the lions fortify the city.

Afterwards I talked alone with Ned " today we had justice for your sister, I wish that I could have made him suffer longer Ned, I swear to you that man deserves a hundred deaths, we will avenge your brother and father, then we will find Lyanna and free her from the dragon clutches" .

Ned looked vindictive when I mentioned Rhaegar, if there was a man that hated that coward more than me it would be Ned, but Ned anger and hatred was silent and cold, I've known him for all my life that's how I can see the lines on his face tighten and the slight narrowing around his eyes.

Ned said " ay we will avenge my family, rest my friend we might have another battle to fight" he didn't speak to much, Ned wasn't always this silent, although he was reserved he didn't become the stone faced man that he is now until the war.

War changes people I find that I have changed a bit, I drank more, I used to drink for fun but now I drink to forget some of the faces, the one that stuck with me was a boy he couldn't be more than thirteen name days old, I still remember the fearful look in his eyes as I crushed his head with my warhammer, sometimes I can hear the sound that his skull made when the warhammer crushed him, Jon said that this was the part that didn't make it to the songs, that I will have to live with the memory for the rest of my life, but other than that I like the war, I like the rush of not knowing when will I die and the feeling of beating my enemy is one of the best feeling I have ever felt, it's this euphoric feeling of triumph that I hadn't felt anywhere before.

Afterwards I went to meet Ser Barristan Selmy, he is the only enemy commander to survive, the other to kingsguards died at the battle, I asked him where was Lyanna and he swore to me that he didn't know, I wanted to call him a liar but from the looks of his eyes I knew that he was telling me the truth, so I told him to get well and left my maester to heal him.

So we rested for a day and rode as fast as we could after that, I wanted to go immediately but Jon and Ned said that the men and horses need the rest, it took us nine days of hard riding to arrive to King's Landing, we could ha e made it in eight but we had to rest on the last day so we can be ready for a fight.

When we arrived I saw the Lannisters forces already there, I didn't like long sieges, but it looks like we were late, as we got closer we started hearing the sound of a battle, it looks like the Lannister switched to our side.

I commander the men to go to the city with all haste, I wanted to be the one to kill the mad king

We rode through the carnage and we arrived at the Red Keep, I didn't slow down and Ned was by my side the whole way, when we entered the throne room I found two bodies lying on the ground and a Kingsguard sitting on the throne, it took me a moment to register that Ayres was one of the bodies, and another to identify the kingsguard as Jamie Lannister.

{General POV}

Jamie Lannister sat on the throne of the man he just killed, he didn't know how to feel about this whole thing, in one hand he saved the city on the other he broke his vows, so when people started coming to the room, he noticed the Baratheon, he was hard to mess with his warhammer and big frame, he was about to make a joke when the Baratheon run at him.

Robert saw that Ayres is dead and he wasn't satisfied, he was supposed to die by Ned's hand, and then he remembered his beloved, so he ran toward the person most likely to know where she was, he got close and with his warhammer raised he spoke " tell me where is she or I will send you to your king" .

Jamie was scared, he was surrounded and the Baratheon looked ready to kill him if he didn't speak, so he gave them the direction to Princess Elia room, he saw a look of relief from the Baratheon and the Stark and Robert said " don't move out of this room, men watch him if he tries to flee kill him" .

Robert was excited to find Lyanna, he and Ned raced to the location of room that Jamie told them, as the neared the room they heard a voice of a woman crying and a man laughing fear the worst Robert reached the room and saw a man holding a black haired woman down and was raping her, he didn't see the children bodies or the other man in the room, Robert didn't even think, he swang his warhammer down at the man's head and with a loud crunch the man head split open like a watermelon.

He was about to be attacked from behind by the other man when Ned killed him, Robert didn't even turn his back and pulled the giant man from who he thought was Lyanna, but when he saw who it was he didn't know how to feel, it was Princess Elia, she was the wife of the man who stole his betrothed, and he was relieved that she wasn't Lyanna, he looked around and saw her children dead, he didn't want to kill children but they were dragonspawns in his mind they were better dead than alive.

But he didn't speak, Ned was the one that spoke first as more men came to the room " go find the maester, the princess is injured and needs healing ".

Princess Elia was inconsolable she just watched as two 'knights' kill her babies and then one of them was raping her next to her kid's corpses, and then the man went still and warm liquid started to drop on her face, she then saw Robert Baratheon, the man that killed her husband, save her from what's happening but her children were dead and nobody can bring them back, so she cried and cried her throat was hurt but she kept crying.

Robert felt sorry for the princess, although he had no love for her of her children, he can't imagine what she must fell at the moment, to see your children die before your eyes and then be defiled next to their dead bodies, he couldn't help but think of his daughter at this moment, he hadn't thought of her since the war began, all he knew was that he was safe in the Vale.

So he took pity on the princess and when the men arrived and brought the grand maester with them he said " your life for hers, if something happens to her and she doesn't recover you will die to" the man tried to speak but Robert shut him up "she dies so will you", then he looked at the men gathered in the chamber and said "four of you guard this chamber with your life, is something happens to the princess kill the maester, and find out who these men were, I don't know them, I hope that they weren't from the men that I brought with me" .

Robert and Ned went back to the throne room, and the room was full when they arrived, the throne was empty, and Jamie was standing next to it unarmed and a man on either side of him.

Robert spoke "I asked you where is Lady Lyanna not Princess Elia, now speak do you know where is she" Jamie didn't know where the Stark girl is and he said " no, no one know where is she, but she isn't in the keep, the prince left the rest of the kingsguard with her" Robert cursed loudly and then he asked " why did you kill the mad king, he wasn't yours to kill" he was angry that they couldn't find Lyanna so he needed to vent his anger.

Jamie didn't want the people to know about the wildfire, he didn't know if some madman would blow it up even by mistake so he said "he wanted me to bring him my father's head so I took his head instead" Robert laughed but it was a hallow one, he wanted to be able to look the man in the eyes before his death.

" that was too fast, he deserved worse" Ned was about to speak but Robert spoke first " men secure the city and find me the master of whispers" .

Half an hour later, Tywin Lannister arrived at the throne room, he had heard of Robert and Ned killing his bannermen, so he knew that he had to shift the blame on them, and he heard that his son killed Ayres, and he was happy for him, he knew that he can get his son out of the kingsguard duty.

Ned was the one who asked about the attack on the princess " Lord Lannister, what do you have to say for the action of your knights", Tywin didn't like his tone so he stared at him for a minute and then he said in a cold and uncaring voice " I ordered them to secure the princess and her family, what happened afterwards was their doing" .

No one believed him but they could not outright say it, because the Lannisters had more men in the city than them and they knew that they cannot fight the Lannisters and the Tyrells together, so nobody spoke.

After that three men brought the master of whispers, and Robert said " if you value your life you will tell me where is Lady Lyanna, if you can't then I will have your head" Robert didn't care about anything else now, he needed to go find her.

Varys learned how to read men since he was a thief, and with one look at Robert he knew that he was serious so he told them what he knows " my birds told me that there is an abandoned tower near the Princess Pass in Dorne, the last I heard she was there" .

Robert wanted to go there immediately but they couldn't leave the city alone, and he couldn't go there without dealing with the Tyrells first, so Robert sent ravens to all of Westeros about the death of the mad king and one to Jon to come to the city as soon as possible .

Ned and Robert agreed that as soon as Jon arrives, they will head south, Robert to deal with the Tyrells and Ned will continue south to Lyanna. Robert spoke to Tywin about coming with him to the south, and Tywin agreed to come with all his men. After that Robert went to sleep, he was tired and he could not think of fucking anyone without picturing Elia being raped, and that wasn't a pretty picture to him.

The next day while Robert and Ned were eating breakfast, one of the men they had guarding the princess came and told them that she was safe, and just woke up. They both agreed to meet her after eating to give her some time, and Ned asked "what are you going to do with her Robert".

They haven't discussed what to do with the princess and Robert said " as soon as she is fit we will send her to her family, maybe send her uncle bones with her, to tell you the truth I don't care much about her, but she is useless to us and sending her to her family is the least thing we can do after her suffering" .

And that's the truth, Robert didn't care about her, he just want her out of the way, and he didn't want to hold her hostage since he didn't care about Dorne, to him even if they want to fight he can beat them back to the desert.

Elia Martell is devastated, she didn't care about her husband or her goodfather, one abandoned her and her babies and the other threatened her to get her family's troops, but yesterday was the worst day of her life, she had to witness the most horrible thing a mother could see, her children the love of her life, her only joy in the world being taken from her.

She didn't register that she was being raped, she didn't feel anything other than anguish, the maester had to give her some milk of the poppy to calm her down, when she woke up the next day she hoped that it was all a horrible nightmare, but seeing the Baratheon guards she immediately started crying.

Elia asked the guards for her babies, they told her that the silent sisters have them now, she cried more after that, she didn't know what will happen to her now and she didn't care, the guards brought her something to eat, but she couldn't eat a thing she felt weak and tired, she remembered what the 'knights' that took her babies from her said to her, this was all Tywin's fault, from what she could gather from the guards, the Lannisters are everywhere here and she had to tell her brothers about what happened.

Later Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark came to see her, the Stark was the first to speak "princess Elia, I'm sorry for your loss, it was a big tragedy" and Robert merely grunted and said "Send a raven to your brothers, as doon as you're fit I will have a ship ready for you to take you to Dorne, the funeral could be held her or you can take them with you to Dorne" .

Elia was surprised that they will send her to Dorne, and she is happy to go there, she can mourn he children in piece, she thanked them as Stark gave her a sad smile and Robert looked at her with pity but other than that he didn't care for her, and she didn't expect him to.

Robert and Ned stayed ti the capital for five more days until Jon Arryn arrived, when he arrived he found what happened and what are they going to do, he agreed to stay in King's Landing while they go south, he had the bones of Lewyn Martell with him and was planning on bargaining a piece with Dorne but when he heard that his foster sons planning to send Elia Martell to Dorne with he children, he knew that this could grant them some good well .

And so, in the seventh day since arriving to King's Landing, Robert, Ned and Tywin marched south to free Storm's End, the journey took them twenty days, along the way they agreed that Ned will take with him Martyn Cassel, Theo Wull, Ethan Glover, Ser Mark Ryswell, Howland Reed and Lord Willam Dustin, Robert sent three of his most trusted knights with them and his personal maester.

{Storm's End}

Stannis looked from the top of the drum tower of Storm's End when a guard said that his brother's troops were coming, he saw a big army at the head was the Baratheon's banner, he was never happier to see his brother.

They have been starving for the better part of a year, and now his brother came to the rescue, although he didn't like his brother, he loved all the same. Now seeing the Mace Tyrell army dipped his banners as soon as he saw the army coming.

Stannis saw his brother coming to the castle gates with hundreds of men carrying supplies, the Tyrells moved back and didn't come after them, Stannis got his little brother Renly and went to the gate to greet his brother.

As soon as his brother came he dismounted from his horse and hugged him and Renly, this was the first time they hugged since their parents death, and his brother said "only you brother, only you are stubborn enough to hold the castle this long, there is no other man on Westeros that can do what you did, now the Tyrells have starved you, and you will decide their punishment" .

Stannis was overwhelmed with his brother praise, he looked and saw his brother carrying Renly on his shoulder as more men poured through the gates. Stannis wanted to make the Tyrells suffer but did not want the war to continue, he knew that his brother would continue the war if he asked him, but a war will cost the Stormlands more.

Robert and Stannis agreed to meet Mace Tyrells and discuss the terms of surrender, Stannis wanted the Reach to pay double the taxes for the next decade, and half of it to go to the Stormlands.

Mace was scared, the Targaryens have lost, he didn't believe it until he saw the army coming at him, now he was meeting with Robert Baratheon , he didn't know if he should call him your grace, is he a king or not, when he saw Robert coming to his right his brother and to his left is Tywin Lannister, but Robert didn't wear a crown.

So the meeting began, they negotiated that the Tyrells will pay one million gold dragons in two months and for the next ten years the will pay double taxes, and Mace agreed because he couldn't win against five kingdoms, he signed the papers four times, he had a copy, Robert had one and his brother had one to, and Tywin acted as a witness he had a copy.

As the Tyrells began to break their camps, Tywin almost laughed at the stupidity of the fat flower, if the Tyrells joined the Targaryens properly then maybe they would have won, or if when he heard about the fall of kings Landing he should have ran back to Highgarden .

{The Princess Pass, Ned POV}

I have lost a lot in this war, I hate the killing and all that came with the war, now I'm about to finish what my brother wanted, I have to thank Robert for sending a maester with me, I knew what he was thinking, after seeing what happened to Elia Martell I'm afraid for my sister.

I knew that Robert loved Lyanna, and he wanted to marry her, even if that happened to her, my friend can be a good person but when I asked him about Rhaegar children, Robert said he didn't care about them that they were just Dragonspawns, and that was the ugly side of him, I'm saddened by the murder of children but he only saw dragonspawns .

As we got closer to the tower, I saw the three missing kingsguard, we rode to them and dismounted from our horses, I can hear the sound of screaming coming from the tower, I asked the kingsguard to surrender, but they didn't, and the fight started.

Martyn Cassel, Ser Mark Ryswell and one of the knights that Robert sent with him died in battle. Theo Wull, Ethan Glover, Lord Willam Dustin and another knight were injured.

I didn't waste time and got the maester and ran to the tower.

{ Lyanna Stark, a few minutes earlier}

The childbirth was pure agony, the midwife was hovering over her, and she could hear fighting going outside, as her baby came out of her she waited for the scream, although she didn't know a lot about babies, she knew that they're supposed to cry .

the midwife said " I'm sorry m'lady but he didn't make it" Lyanna didn't believe her " my baby, bring me my baby, I want to hold my baby" she was frantic.

She thought that this was her punishment from the gods for going against her father's wishes, and now she lost a father, a brother, a husband and a child, she cried holding her baby boy to her.

And that's how Ned found her, in a bed crying while holding a baby, he thought that Rhaegar raped her and put a child in her, he went to his sister side, he heard her saying "this is all my fault" repeatedly.

Ned went to his sister's side " Lya, Lya this is me Ned , Lya you're going to be okay, everything is okay. Maester fix my sister, she is bleeding" .

Lyanna looked up and saw Ned, she didn't know if this was a dream or not, as Ned mouth started to move but she didn't hear what was he saying, she felt tired and closed her eyes to sleep.

The maester started healing Lyanna, their was a lot of bleeding but he saved her, she will live but she can't give birth anymore, she became barren, Ned didn't know what to do, but he had to go back to Robert, and tell him what happened.

If he didn't then the other will tell him, and he knew that Robert will hurt down all of the Targaryens and kill them personally, and he was tempted to go with him. He almost lost his sister to the Targaryens, he can't take anymore of them.

The men came to the tower and saw his sister and the dead baby, and heard the maester saying that she was barren, so the truth will out .

The maester said that his sister will be ready to travel in two days, but he didn't know when will she wake up . One of the knights Ser Cortnay Penrose, he was a good friends of Robert and fought by his side from Storm's End to the end, offered to go to Nightsong to get a carriage for his sister and another one for the dead, Ned agreed and he sent Howland Reed with him and gave him a letter to send to Robert in the letter he wrote

' We are safe, I found Lyanna, she is alive but something bad happened, I will come to Storm's End and we'll talk' .

Ser Cortnay Penrose and Howland Reed came back three days later with two carriages, Lyanna didn't wake up and the maester said he did all he could. The journey from Storm's End to her took them a fortnight but the journey back took a month.

{Robert POV}

In that month since Ned was away, I have gone back to King's Landing and was crowned.

I didn't want it, but Jon said that I was the only option. and then maester Cressen sent me a raven saying that Ned was going to Storm's End, and that Lyanna is alive but something happened that I must be there to see. Jon didn't want me to leave but I just told him he can rule while I was away.

I took a ship to Storm's End, I know that my parents died like this, every time I sail a ship or look at the sea from Storm's End I remember them, I arrived there and started waiting for Ned, I occupied my time by drinking and playing with Renly.

{Ned's POV}

Lyanna work up three weeks into the journey, I was so happy, this is the first time I smiled a genuine smile since hearing about my father and Brandon's death. after the maester checked on her, I rode the carriage with my sister, no one said anything because they knew that we needed a family time.

As I got inside the carriage, I looked at my sister, she became pale and so thin that it was painful to see. she didn't speak she just cried, I pulled her to a hug " it's okay sister, you are safe no one will hurt you, the ones who did this to you are all dead, Robert killed Rhaegar in the Trident and got you your revenge" his sister just cried more.

Lyanna pulled back a bit and then she spoke, what she told him has shocked Ned to his core.

She told him about Harrenhal and how she was the knight of the laughing tree, and how Rhaegar found her but kept her secret and how they talked and after Harrenhal they sent messages to each other. she told him how the prince understood her and he rescued her from marrying Robert.

She spoke about the love they had for each other, she told him about Rhaegar annulment of Elia and their marriage, in the end she kept saying that it was all her fault and Ned agreed.

I didn't know how to look at my sister, father and brother died for her, so she can run away with a married man, I heard the men cursing outside the carriage, I knew that they will speak about what happened, and he can't fault them.

I got out of the carriage without saying a word to my sister, I couldn't look at her without the image of father and Brandon death in my head.

I told the men not to say anything until I speak to Robert first, and Robert will be furious, and I can't let him kill my sister, because that's what he would want to do, hells I wanted to kill her as she spoke, did she not understand the shame that she brought upon hours Stark, she ran away with a married man and got her family killed.

The last week of the journey was silent, I heard some of the men calling my sister a whore behind our back, but I can't do anything about it, almost everyone with me have lost someone close to them during the war, so it was understandable.

I barely talked to Lyanna, she was depressed over the death of her son and husband. and I'm too furious to sympathize with her.

{Storm's End, General POV}

When Ned's party arrived at Storm's End Robert was waiting for them, he was happy to see them but anxious about Ned's raven. As soon as they got through the gate Ned looked at Robert and said " we need to speak in private, now!".

Robert knew that this is serious, when he saw Lyanna get out of the carriage, she didn't look like she did in his memory, she was too pale and thin, her eyes were dead inside, he cursed the Targaryens again for the thousandth time and went to her and spoke gently "let me help you my lady" and she flinch away from him .

Robert backed up and gave her some space, he then led Ned and Lyanna to a private solar and had Ser Barristan Selmy guard the door.

Ned said " Robert, what you're about to hear is going to be shocking and you will be angry, but please don't hurt anyone" Robert was alarmed, and he sat at one end of the table and Lyanna in the other end and Ned in the middle.

And Lyanna told her story without looking up, her eyes were down on her lap the whole time, Robert felt betrayal the like of which he never felt before, he was angry, furious but above all else hurt.

He spoke in eerie calm voice " so let me see if I understand this correctly, you were upset about being betrothed to me because I can't keep to one bed, and your solution to this was to run away with my married 'cousin' and then he annulled his lawful marriage leaving his wife and children

And you opened your legs for him which resulted in your father death, your brother death, and ten thousands others, you didn't send a message to anyone you just did as you pleased, and in the end you lost that dragonspawn" .

Lyanna looked up and saw the hurt and anger in Robert eyes, and his words cut her so deep that she can't even refute him.

Robert then laughed a painful laugh and he said to her " I hope that you live a long and miserable life, Ned you have until tomorrow to take a ship to the north, I don't want to see this whore ever again"

Outside the door Ser Barristan Selmy heard everything, in one hand he was relieved that the prince wasn't a rapist, but he was disappointed that he did this without the thought of how others would react. And an annulment meant that he sat his wife aside but he didn't say anything about it when he came to King's Landing.

Robert needed to kill someone, he can't stay in Storm's End, so he did what he does when he needed to think and went hunting, he was with Ser Barristan and thirty other men, he didn't even think about them, he said that he was going on a hunt and disappeared for a week.

Meanwhile Ned took Robert threat very seriously and arranged for a ship to White Harbor. He didn't speak to Robert alone and by the next day the whole castle was calling Lyanna names, 'whore' , 'the bitch of Winterfell' , 'homewrecker' were few of the names that he heard.

Lyanna stopped speaking after that and they went to Winterfell in shame, Ned had already avenged his brother and father, but he didn't bring home a sister but a whore in the eyes of the Northmen.

The story made its way throughout Westeros, in Dorne when the Martell heard the story, they looked for the annulment papers, they didn't want to believe that.
