Percy Jackson: The Rebirth of Adonis

This is a really simple premise, no system, no crossover, nothing like that. I basically am presenting an already existing mythical character a second chance. As you probably already gathered from the title, we're bringing back Aphrodite's mortal love, Adonis. So it is possible for characters to be reborn in the Percy Jackson world with no memories of their past lives. Mainly souls from Elysium go through the process. Now if Adonis in the actual myth wasn't eligible for that part of the Underworld, we'll just say he was.

Now Adonis was said to be astonishingly beautiful/handsome, so much so that Persephone and Aphrodite feuded on who got to spend time with him. So our reincarnated character should have a similar level of charisma. I should also mention that this second life should be a demi-god of some kind. Primarily so that he can take part in the main plot, but that leaves the choice of which Greek God or Goddess he should be the child of. Firstly we will cross off Aphrodite because, even though the Greek pantheon is made up mostly of incest and adultery, I'd like to see their reunion without a rehashing of Oedipus. Ares is also out because, no matter how funny I think it would be for Adonis to cuck his own father, I don't see him winning that fight. Hephaestus is also out, though it too, would be interesting to say that the ugliest god had the most handsome son. Athena is a maybe, only because I'd like to see how she and Aphrodite would brawl. Apollo is also a maybe, mainly due to his children being somewhat more charismatic. Artemis is out for obvious reasons. Hermes is a maybe, but he already has damn near 30 children in the camp. Hera and Hestia are out, unless you have a good enough reason for the former to commit adultery and the latter to break her vow. Dionysus is a maybe, but I'm leaning more towards the category of no, even if seeing them interact at camp would be funny. Demeter is a maybe, considering her daughter's feeling for him.

There are various minor gods and goddesses that we could use, like Nike and Iris, but let's move on to the Big Three. Before we go there, let's talk about how we get around the vow. Obviously the easiest, and most boring, way is to say that they immediately broke said promise by having the MC, but that leaves you needing to explain why they aren't the child of prophecy. Another way is to have the protagonist be born before the agreement, i.e. before World War 2, and have him take an extremely lengthy stay at the Lotus. Personally I would suggest the latter, as you can introduce him during the events of the Lightning Thief, which circumvents the whole prophecy deal.

Now let's talk about which of the Big Three I feel most connects with Adonis. I have to exclude Poseidon, mainly due to Percy already being the original protagonist. Hades is a maybe, because I don't know how he'd react to his son being the reincarnation of Persephone's first choice. I don't really want to say it, mainly cause Zeus already has an ego the size of Jupiter, but if I had a choice for godly powers, I'd pick his or Hades, mainly for the treasure and Osteokinesis. This is my list of choices: Athena, Apollo, Demeter, Hades, Hermes, and Zeus. Unless you can come up with legitimate reasons for other Olympians. You could also go the route of having a Titan as a godly parent, but I think that Zeus would definitely order Adonis' death in that case. Unless he was Rhea's, then I think she would potentially have some issue with Zeus ordering that.

Honestly, I think this idea has some merit. It's interesting enough and pretty unique. An in-universe reincarnation isn't something I've seen done before in this franchise.
