Fate/LINK

The protagonist will be a person from our world transmigrated into the body of a Heroic Spirit. Not just any Hero though, but the Hero of The Legend of Zelda, Link. Now all his stats will be loosely based of a video from YouTube, where the creator makes a Link with all the best qualities and equipment from each incarnation. Now that video tosses out extraneous equipment, like only allowing a limited number of stat boosting items, only one type of hookshot as well as one bow and one shield, The Sacred Bow and the Mirror Shield respectively. Along with the bow, he has access to all the different types of arrows throughout the entire series. He does give this hypothetical Link three swords The Golden Master Sword, The Four Sword, and the Phantom Sword. Now, I'll stop here because I'm basically just tossing that video out for the most part. There are some aspects I'm keeping but it'll be a sort of guide for how I will set up the Skills Section. My ideal for this Link is to give him everything via Skill or Noble Phantasm.

So let's talk about his Skills, and there are quite a few I believe fit. Firstly, I decided to give Link Riding at A+, considering the fact that's he's ridden quite a few different beasts who could be considered as Phantasmal Beasts, even Divine Beasts, in the context of the Fate Universe. Including, but not limited to, his Crimson Loftwing, StalHorses, and the Lord of the Mountain Satori. Next up for Link's Skills is Mind's Eye, both True and False. Link has several lifetimes of experience under his belt which is obviously going to result in Mind's Eye (True), but in several scenarios he's proven that he also has a sixth sense for avoiding danger which proves the existence of Mind's Eye (False). I would say that True would be at Rank A and False at Rank B. I also believe that he would have Battle Continuation at either Rank A or A+. Link has shown the capability to lead an army, so I suggest Charisma at Rank C. The Chosen Hero also has the tendency to accrue wealth in the form of Rupees, so we give him Golden Rule Rank B. I also want to give him a small rank of Divinity considering him bearing a literal piece of a Goddess's power, so maybe Rank E? Magic Resistance should somewhere around D, considering Link has never just shrugged off magic, normally just blocking such attacks with his shield or reflecting them with the Master Sword. There are more Skills I think he should have, Pioneer of the Stars being one, but I'd like to move on to the Noble Phantasms section.

Starting with his most iconic weapon, The Master Sword, the Sword of Evil's Bane. A Divine Construct, this sword contains the power to repel Evil, its light shines brighter in response to it. I know that in Tears of the Kingdom it breaks, but we'll just say that it's indestructible, like Excalibur. It is unable to be even touched by those with tainted hearts. Its strikes naturally carry an Anti-Evil property, and when raised up to the sky it can charge a Skyward Strike, which acts as a pseudo-activation, unleashing a sword beam classified as Anti-Unit. In order to give the Master Sword a bit more oomph, it gains a True Name Activation, akin to Excalibur and Balmung. This Activation multiplies the power of its Anti-Evil property a hundred-fold and the resulting beam is classed as Anti-Army. The downside of the use of its True Name is the extreme charge time and the diminishment of its sacred power. This diminishment will remove its natural Anti-Evil property temporarily and it will no longer be able to use the Skyward Strike. The sacred power will recharge after a few days, but the use of the Master Sword's full power will take slightly longer. This is the Lv3 Master Sword so the blade is golden instead of its normal silver. If there's anything you would change you can do so, this is mostly a framework for you to work off of.

His Second Noble Phantasm is known as Gifts of the Champions, the various abilities Link gained from the other Champions in Breath of the Wild. The first part of this Noble Phantasm is known as Mipha's Grace, which allows Link to revive at full health once per day similar to Berserker Heracles' God Hand. I've changed the second power slightly, so instead of an upward breeze Revali's Gale creates a burst of wind to launch Link or his sword forwards at extreme speeds, similar to Mana Burst. It recharges every 40 seconds because of the change. Daruk's Protection will act as a defensive Bounded Field, similar to Rho Aias, recharging every 18 minutes once fully broken. This barrier will block an A-Rank Noble Phantasm's activation once before breaking, but can only reduce the damage dealt by stronger ones. Finally, we have Urbosa's Fury, which unleashes lightning in all directions around Link, paralyzing those that it doesn't outright kill. This attack can be used three time in row before needing to recharge for 12 minutes. Once again, this is mainly just for a guideline, you can freely change how each of these work to serve your story.

The Third Noble Phantasm is known as The Fragment of a Golden Goddess: The Triforce of Courage. This is what gives Link his resistance to curses as well as access to his past lives powers and techniques. Every single sword skill or teaching Link has received in his entire video game existence is available to him in this story through this Phantasm. It is quite literally his history condensed into a single Divine Construct. I don't think there has been a single incarnation of the Hero's Spirit to not have held this piece. What did I mean by curses? Well, I'm leaning into the Twilight Princess mechanic of Link's Wolf form, said to be a sacred beast, which is taken when Link is thrust into the Twilight. It's basically the Triforce's way of preventing his soul from separating from his body like any normal Hylian or Human. I'm adjusting that protection to include curses in Fate, so that he's unable to be Altered. I think I struck a pretty good balance of effects for this Phantasm, but if you think things could be improved by adding or removing features you can.

The fourth and final Noble Phantasm I'll be talking about is The Hero's Armory. This is a conceptual space, similar to the Gate of Babylon, containing all of the weapons and equipment every version of Link has acquired over all his adventures. Such treasures include The Four Sword, The Phantom Sword, The Biggoron Sword, The Fierce Deity Mask, The Ocarina of Time, the Magic Armor and so much more. This is a representation of Link's versatility and ingenuity, as well as his mastery of many tools.

Let's talk about his Parameters for a bit. This is the thing that's taking a bit of time, since I have to go off of other Servants to judge where I THINK he should be. Now I'd say he would have a similar level of strength to Artoria, un-assisted by items, which would put him a B Rank Strength. I might give him C+ Rank Endurance, a bit higher than Artoria and Archer. C Rank Agility to match both, though I could maybe see it be higher since he has dodged lightning and light before. I think I could give him B+ Rank Mana and B Rank Luck, I believe that's fair. And I truly maintain that his NP Parameter would be EX.

Now who or what summoned the Hero of Hyrule? It could be any of the original Masters of the Fifth Holy Grail War: Rin, Shirou, Illya, Sakura, or even Bazett. Personally out of those choices I would say that I'd pick the last three since their stories are the most dire. Bazett dies before the start, Illya is being manipulated and Sakura, well we all know what's happening there. The summon could also be the result of something happening with the Holy Grail or even the machinations of Zelretch. I mostly see it as something the old prankster would do, dragging a Foreign Heroic Spirit into this dimension and seeing the chaos unfold.

I have had this idea sitting in my drafts for what feels like multiple years, but in actuality it's been only one. I've lost track of the time and have been uninspired. I'm going to post a second chapter later, and that will have an announcement. I'm kind of excited about it, but I'll leave it for next time.
