65 Final boss and aftermath

The party rode on cetaetia towards the huge orb of smoke like darkness and violently crashed into the outside of the orb. with a sound similar to glass shattering cetaetia with the party on its back entered calasmos's domain. immediately alastair knew that calasmos was extremely powerful do to the fact that the inside of the orb was far larger than the outside meaning spatial distortions was used to contain it in a smaller area. the inside had the orb looked like a purple swirling galaxy that lacked any light besides the glow coming off of cetaetia.

The party didn't have to wait for long before calasmos rose next to cetaetia with his towering physique. calasmos had thick chitinous plates that came together like a type of armor that had a thick layer of darkness mana guarding it from attacks. at this point calasmos goes off on his in game rant about how he wishes for the void of light that he was born in. alastair was getting a bit of deja vu about the speech but he had no clue why. after talking calasmos attacked with a swipe of his massive club like arm that was barely resisted by the party.

Alastair raised the sword of light like he was told and watched as the layer of darkness protecting calasmos vanished. seeing a good opportunity alastair pointed his right hand at calasmos and launched a chain made out of lightning at calasmos binding him tightly. calasmos cursed at the bindings and struggled violently against them not noticing that alastair sheathed the sword of light and was charging power between his palms. the party bombarded the bound foe viciously with all manner of attacks with magic being the most effective. soon calasmos broke free and retaliated for the parties attacks with a barrage of energy projectiles.

The energy took the rest of the party out of commission but that was when calasmos noticed the dangerous amount of power gathered between alastairs palms. calasmos tried to interrupt alastair with an attack but it was to late. alastair pushed his palms towards calasmos and a beam of energy the size of a house ripped through the air. calasmos screamed as the beam struck him immediately shattering his mask before burning through his skin and frying his organs. calasmos exploded from the sheer amount of energy flooding him turning him into stardust.

After calasmos's death the true ending of dragon quest eleven happens with the yggdragon showing up and giving a speech before naming alastair erdrick which triggered a change in the mark on his left hand as well as a system prompt. after that the party was returned to erdrea and all was peaceful for many years after that ,but that has nothing to do with alastair. after the final battle alastair leveled up twice and his luminary perk evolved into erdrick which had an extra 10 point boost to the luminaries perk buff. once he leveled up he put all of his points into crafting since he felt he was powerful enough for now.

Alastair gained two perk points after leveling up which let him get the solar powered perk as well as a perk known as map. [map]: a mental map that gets filled in as the host discovers the area. this perk gave alastair a feature that had been missing from his system which was the mini map that was so common. the mark on the back of alastairs hand had changed from the trident shape it had into a shape more like that of a bird.

The two outer spikes curved downwards while the spike in the middle sank a little so the curved bottom of the mark was going through the middle of the center spike. the party separated again after the final battle and alastair temporarily moved to nautica where he had a three bride wedding with jade , erisa and marina. the mermaids and parents of erisa had no problem with this arrangement while king carnelian was only slightly bothered by his long lost daughter getting married. the honey moon of the three took place on a the boat alastair had marked previously on the strand that he had repaired and turned into a flying ship.

Alastair went three peaceful years where he impregnated all three of his wives giving him two daughters and a son. jade and erisa were the mothers of the two girls but marina gave birth to the little boy. it turns out that when a dragovian and a mermaid mate the resulting offspring is closer to human than either and is equally comfortable in water and on land. ironically king carnelian was the most happy with his grand daughter as he was the definition of a doting grandparent since he assigned hendrick to her defense.
