1 Chapter 1: Falling

*Riiiiinnnnnggggg Riiiiiinnnnnnngggg*

Rolling over and reaching for my phone to shut off the alarm I sighed. Another day in the life of a female 25-year-old overweight depressed otaku shut-in. Groaning from a growing headache I search for the noise coming from my dresser only to come up short. A cold burst of air and the thump of fabric against my hand greets me instead That thing is definitely not my dresser. Where could my nightstand have gone? Slowly lifting my head I stare at the unfamiliar surroundings in growing horror. I recognize nothing. Absolutely nothing is familiar to me. The pain in my head mixed with the continued ringing is getting amplified by the fear and adrenaline now pounding through my body. Have I been drugged? Is this some kind of kidnapping ploy. I don't have anything anyone could want. Why me?

As I look around, trying to push back my anxiety, I try to puzzle out where I am. First thing that I have to do is turn off the ringing. It's breaking my head apart. Spotting my cell, I reach for it. My hand appears swollen and misshapen next to the screen. All the proportions are off but that doesn't matter right now. If I've been drugged then I need to find out as much as possible before the next thing happens. Besides, I can't seem to make sense of anything besides pressing the button to stop the siren of noise coming from this small device sitting in the palm of my hand. It's the one thing I can control at this second. Finally, shutting off the alarm my headache recedes enough for me to read the screen. 8 am on October 18. That makes no sense. Yesterday I went to sleep in my own bed after reading Harry Potter fanfiction. Looking around I noticed a glimmer coming off one of the walls. It's a mirror in the corner facing the bed reflecting something that's wrong. Crawling off the large bed to get a closer look I stand in front of the mirror. I look down at my feet and slowly back up to my face. The reflection mirrors me and I hope it's just the drugs playing tricks on me. That I saw wrong and it would all change when I got closer. That it was just a warped mirror. That it must be some kind of lunatics sick joke. Drug someone and place them in a room alone to wake up to a funhouse mirror in terror. But my hand reached out and touched the mirror and they were the same. So I did what any other person would do when stuck in this situation. I stared in abject horror with my mouth open and the screams bouncing about in my head refusing to exit my mouth. A few minutes later I started to calm because as the saying goes, you can only be scared so long before something else wins out. The terror part of my brain had been exhausted. Curiosity, being my go-to reaction to most things strange and new, started reacting instead.

I blink and so does the image. My leg kicks out and " my reflection" quickly follows. Every movement matches but everything else is wrong. My chest and stomach are flat. All my limbs are far too short. The freakiest part though is my face. I remembered this face. It was still mine but it was from when I was a child. On closer inspection, there were small differences that I hadn't noticed and it made everything all the more jarring. My eyes were now blue with green flecks, instead of my normal plain dark brown. A new discovery, I was deathly pale and it wasn't going away after the shock was gone. I used to have tan golden skin. The smallest change in my appearance happened to my hair, the color had become this curly golden caramel color with strands of blond. Styled into a bob with bangs that I had remembered begging for in the 4th grade. The changes weirded me out the more I looked. I saw me but yet it wasn't me. So much of what I looked like had changed and yet it was still definitely me. Where was the shrink ray? Maybe it was a de-aging potion because the me in the mirror looked all of ten.

Breaking out of a staring contest with myself I started accessing my surroundings. Looking around, it seemed to be a hotel room. Standard big white bed, a view of the city skyline and a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the doorknob. *Ding* A single notification dominates my sight in place of the usual dozens. It's a text from an impossible number. It was listed as (000)000-0000. Thinking that nothing else could go any worse right now I opened the text. Words filled the entire screen and my eyes widened as I read the text that would shatter my reality.

I'm glad you woke up Alise I know that all this has been very surprising but I need you to hang on just a bit more while I explain. My name is generally what people call GOD. Your change in body and age is my doing. The reason is that you died while you were asleep. The interesting bit though is it was because your room gave out and you literally fell off your bed all the way to the ground floor. You didn't even wake up for your last breath after the impact knocked the air from your lungs. Your forehead just scrunched up a bit from the cold on the way down. So I decided if you didn't want to wake up so badly I was going to give you a reason to wake up. So tada, a reason to stay awake and LIVE for real. Hence the change in age and appearance. What I've done is take your genetics and swap them around so that your father had the dominant genes and your mothers became the receive. The great part of that is now when you grow you'll be 5'9 instead of the 5'1 that you hated. I'm leaving you in the world of Harry Potter. Your favorite stories live here. Some things are just like the books while others have been changed by the minds that have been touched by the story like yours was. I've made the most basic things the same and keeping the things you liked in the fanfictions so you'll be able to navigate very easily. Moving on to the little details your currently in the ST. PANCRAS RENAISSANCE HOTEL in London a couple of blocks from kings cross station. The room and food are fully paid for the next ten years so that you'll have somewhere to stay between the school years. Since you didn't notice the date I will tell you that it is currently 1988 so you have 11 months before school starts. You're the same age as Fred and George. I know that you'll have a fun time. You won't get your letter until your 11th birthday like everyone else but, I won't stop you from exploring beforehand. I'm letting you keep your phone but I've tweaked it a bit. The maps are current for your time period and it is connected to the phone system for updates. Your search engine works but you can't post anything just yet. Otherwise, everything is just about the same Since are ten I've settled your financial situation. There is money in both the muggle and magical world banks for you. Your age shouldn't be a problem for accessing either. I've left the basics you'll need in the closet and in the desk. Your backstory according to the authorities is that you currently in the care of your nanny after the last of your living relatives died in a car crash. The nanny does not exist but in the event something happens I will have one of my people deal with it. I know I have missed some things so you'll be able to contact me by text if needed. I just want you to experience life and to wreak some havoc before you fall off this mortal coil.

Have fun and LIVE,

-G

Staring at the screen, things started to make a little more sense. And at the same time, it made my head spin at the craziness of it all. Sitting on the floor, I thought about what was going on and the pros and cons of it all. Pro I was a wizard. Con we are about to start the second wizarding war. Pro I know where things are going to go wrong. Con I could change things and make it harder for myself and possibly doom the rest of the world. Con I was an orphan on a completely different continent without a way to contact anyone from my original world except god supposedly. Con I'm ten. Con I am surrounded by strangers who've upgraded from the normal strangers to ones from a completely different universe. How am I supposed to survive? I could barely handle living in my world. Quick think of the pros. Think of the pros before all the cons bury me alive. Pro, pros... PRO! Slowly my lips form the words and I whisper in my quietest voice." Pro... magic." Magic. Magic!!!! I can't believe I get magic. I love magic I Wonder if I can do magic now?

Since he said that this was a mix of cannon and my kind of fanfiction I need to first find my magical container since I didn't have a wand yet. The way some of the other characters in fanfiction found their magic was through this container. The majority of them were cultivation themed and the power they could use came from them. Cultivators had a container in them and with more practice and work the container expands and becomes denser. The denser the power the stronger it was."Lumos" looking at my hand, nothing happened. Not surprising, I didn't think it would be as simple as that. Closing my eyes, I tried to find the container that held my magic. I know that it must exist so when I felt something in my stomach I knew I hit gold. It felt like gas that was just sitting there. Maybe I was fooling myself and it was just gas and I needed to fart.

Ignoring that thought, I tried to grab it with my mind and it slipped out of my grasp once again. Since that didn't work I needed to think and think hard about it. How did others get their magic to work? I've read one that circulated the magic in his body like a cultivator. Let's try that method. Pushing the gas seemed to be doing something. I felt a shift but I still didn't know where it was going. Trying to focus my mind as best as I could, I cast the spell once again. "Lumos" there on my hand sat one tiny bit of light. As if there was a moon bean condensed and pooling gently in my palm. The light ensnared my vision before it winked out the moment I lost focus. The darkness of the room once more flooded in before I lost sight of everything and fainted.
