The Third Wheel

The two were singing together while eating. He smiled while watching them from the rear mirror. Eris was eating as Kaiden was feeding her. Well, Kaiden was useful on their trip. He takes care of Eris and he has to admit that he looked adorable that's why Eris was insisting on being with Kaiden. Soon, they reached the resort after a three hours trip. It's in the mountains overlooking the sea. The farm was owned by Connor, Johanna's husband as he gave them a key to the farmhouse and there are caretakers of the farm.

As soon as they left the car, the caretaker quickly approached them.

"Sir Gray! Rooms are ready and food!"

"Foodie!" Kaiden exclaimed as the caretaker smiled at Kaiden.

"Hello, Kaiden."

"Hello." Kaiden was already the center of attention as Eris smiled while holding Kaiden's hand.

"Just a room for one. We have to babysit this little guy over our stay."

"How long are we staying?" Eris asked as she released her walking stick.

"For over a night. Everything is great here." He said.

Kaiden pulled his hand from Eris as he ran to the dog.

"Doggie."

The dog barked as it wiggled his tail and jumped on the other side ready to play with Kaiden. Gray took out Kaiden's things and gave them to the caretaker. He took his bag and Eris's overnight stuff that he had the maids prepared.

"Overnight?" Eris asked as she stayed where she was standing since she doesn't know the place. He reached her elbow to escort her.

"Alright, this farm has a lot of things in here." He murmured. "Hold my arm."

She reached for his arm with her other free hand. She used the walking stick to feel other things in front of her. Gray watched as Kaiden climbed up on the dog and held on to the dog's collar. The big dog started walking as Kaiden was giggling.

"What's Kaiden doing?" Eris asked.

"He just rides on the dog like it's a horse."

"He does? Won't the dog bite him?"

"Trust me. He's good at handling animals."

They entered the house and he assisted her.

"Bathroom?" He asked.

"Yes, please."

He took her to the bathroom and gave her instructions on where to use the toilet and sink. Then, he went to the living room where Kaiden was busy playing with the dog and even talking to the dog. He approached him and reached his arm to clean up his face. He froze when he suddenly saw a vision of Kaiden together with Benny growing plants with his green hands. Then, he and Benny would grow a flower just to give it to Eris.

"Kaiden," He took out the wet wipes and wiped his face. "Do you like Eris?"

"Yes," He nodded his head.

"I'm going to marry her, okay?"

Kaiden was silent as his lips wobbled.

"Hey, shhh." He covered his mouth. "Do not cry. You are too young to marry her anyway."

Kaiden still cried as Gray hugged him.

"Buddy, it's the only way to get her to the family. Okay? Eris is older than you. You are just a baby and it's the reality. So, you will be just her grandson. Okay? I still love you though."

He continued crying as the dog whimpered and barked at Gray.

"No. No." Kaiden shook his head and wiped his tears. "I marry, Eris."

"Son, I told you. You are too young and you can find someone you love. Okay?"

"I love Eris. I marry her."

"No. I'm sorry."

"Kaiden, why are you crying?" Eris used her fingers to the walls while using her walking stick to walk in the direction.

Kaiden ran to her and hugged her leg quickly. He continued crying as Gray shook his head. He needs to speak to his mother. This boy is trying to get into a possible relationship. Eris bent down and picked him up.

"Stop crying now, okay?"

"I want a kiss." Kaiden sniffled as Eris smiled and kissed Kaiden which landed on his forehead.

"Better now?"

"Yeah," Kaiden smiled and hugged her neck.

Gray sighed as he shook his head.

"Darling, you shouldn't spoil him."

"Gray, what did you do?" Eris asked. "He's a boy."

"Yeah, he is. He's already the third wheel of our relationship."

Eris giggled and squeezed Kaiden in her arms.

"Gray, you knew well that you are older than him."

Gray approached them as he moved closer to her.

"Would you love me and marry me?"

"Depends. But we are just starting to be friends."

"Great." Gray grinned and smirked at Kaiden who frowned at him. "I will prepare a place for us to eat. Maybe a picnic in nature?"

"Sure."

Gray takes her to the sofa and makes her sit.

"Just tell Kaiden what to do and use him as a servant."

Eris's eyes dilated.

"I would never." She kissed Kaiden and hugged him like a little panda.

Gray moved quickly and checked the picnic area with a little tent for them. It's under the shed of the tree overlooking the farm. He made sure that the watermelons didn't have seeds as he asked nicely to remove them. Then, he went back to the lobby where Eris and Kaiden are giggling while she was giving a lot of kisses to Kaiden. He's jealous now. He wished that he was a little boy that could be held by Eris. The future wife that he had in mind was smitten by the little boy.

He approached them as he sat beside Eris.

"Marry me, okay?" Gray said out of nowhere as Eris laughed and used her left hand to reach him. He brought it to his handsome face and kissed her palm. "I think one date is enough though."

She giggled and patted his cheeks.

"Don't be funny. We just started."

"But Kaiden is already stealing you from me. If you could see his face, he's glaring at me with his brows met."

She giggled and patted Kaiden's head.

"Is the food ready? I think he's starving."

Kaiden's face beamed as he showed his tongue towards Gray. Gray sneered at him. He took Kaiden from Eris as he complained but he helped out Eris and reached her hand.

"Stop complaining or I'll throw you out." He murmured to Kaiden who stayed still so he wouldn't be thrown out.

Gray smiled at Eris as they went to the garden. He helped her remove her sandals after he put down Kaiden. The little boy also removed his shoes and he ran around as the dog followed him.

"Look, Gray. Snake."

Gray was alarmed as the dog growled and pulled Kaiden away by the shirt.

"Green snake." He said. Gray told her to stay still as he approached Kaiden.

"Kaiden," Eris froze but Gray watched as the snake raised its head toward Kaiden.

"Good snakey, snakey…" Kaiden patted the snake's head. It didn't bite the boy but Gray was nervous.

"Okay, tell it to go now."

"Goodbye, snakey-snakey…"

The snake just crawled away. Gray picked him up and put him back down on the picnic blanket.

"What just happened?" He asked him.

"It's good snakey." He told him.

"I know that it's not venomous but really? You have to pat it like a dog?"

The dog approached Kaiden and pushed his muzzle to Kaiden's chest. The dog howled at Gray telling it not to scold the boy. Eris knelt as she crawled and used her hands to reach Kaiden.

"Not bad snakey." He added.

"If something bad happens to you, your father will kill me."

Kaiden pouted.

"Come here," Eris called him as Kaiden hugged Eris.

"No. Angry~angry, Papa." He shook his head.

Gray sighed. Why is everything spoiled? But Kaiden was still adorable.

"Don't do that again," Eris told him as the boy agreed to her.

Gray sighed. This is very frustrating now. He sat with them and prepared their food. They were eating happily and Eris looked happy. He wished that it was only her and him. And yes, it did happen after he helped Kaiden change his diapers and clothes. Then, he sleeps beside Eris. Eris also lay down as she closed her eyes to feel the refreshing breeze.

"Are you still sitting?" Eris asked. "Join us."

Gray took the pillow and lay sideways beside her. A few inches away as he admired her beauty. He bent down and kissed her cheeks. She smiled as she reached his face but it landed on his chest. Her hands crawl gently up to his neck to his cheeks.

"You look so beautiful smiling like that." Gray caressed her hair with her hands over his cheek.

"You are full of fantasy." She giggled. "But do you mean that? I have never seen my face Gray~~for twenty years now."

"I'm sorry about that. But if you could see yourself, you are a Goddess. Just like your name."

Eris was saddened but Gray was there to take it away. He kissed her forehead and reached her hand as he brought it to his chest. Eris turned to him. As Gray lay his head down. Her hands carefully caressed all over his face, tracing every perfection.
