51 Meeting the parents (1)

ISABELLA

"Bella, is there something on my face?"

I jolted out of my thoughts and smiled at the little girl before me. "No, sweetie. Why?

"You are looking at me funny." She pointed out.

"Oh," I fumbled for an excuse. "I was just trying to figure out if you wanted pigtails or a single braid."

In truth, I was trying to find traces of Rhys in her face.

Tristan didn't explicitly say it and based on what he shared, they never proved Rory's paternity. But based on his portrayal of his sister and how deeply in love she was, there was only one man likely to be her child's father.

I had found no traces of Rhys after staring for that long, but I did discover something that made my heart melt.
