For a moment, Lu Mingyu didn't say anything. He just continued to look at the woman whose eyes were burning with passion in front of him.

The woman had always been so passionate and strong-minded, someone who would never admit defeat. To think that she would herself come to him and agree for a compromise?

To think that such mature words would come out from the mouth of such a young woman?

Lu Mingyu could not have expected that.

"And what if your boundaries are broken?"

With a glint of amusement in his cold eyes, Lu Mingyu asked.

Hearing his words, Xu Xinya's heart wavered for a second.

Yet, she didn't let any uncertainty appear in her eyes.

After all, according to Lu Guang's words if she wanted Lu Mingyu to reach a compromise she must not let him see any fear on her. She must strike head-on!

"Then... My body might belong to you but not my soul will never be yours."

Suddenly, that glint of amusement in Lu Mingyu's eyes disappeared. His black eyes were back at being dead cold again.

Subsequently, the temperature in the Lu residence study started to fall.

Xu Xinya could feel the oppression building up gradually. However, she didn't falter. His icy gaze that was full of coldness, that no mortal could dare to match, she returned with her fierce glare.

If the man before her was like a mine thousand-degree glacier then she was also a thousand-degree Volcan who could withstand that pressure.

"You said yourself that you won't force yourself on me. That means you give at least a bit of consideration to what I want. If you really see me as something more than just an object, you will not stop me."

Xu Xinya decided to say when the stalemate of staring won't break.

Her heart started to beat a little loud.

Whatever she had said today was based on Second Master Lu's words that 'What you think matters to my brother.'

If it was true, Lu Mingyu wouldn't stop her.

After a long silence, the coldness in the study suddenly dissipated.

Xu Xinya was startled.

"Very well. You have thought this through." His dead cold eyes suddenly regained an even more profound glint of amusement as he gazed at the woman in front of him.

Even his lips curled up into a cold smile.

Xu Xinya was truly taken aback.

Yet, she couldn't understand.

What did that laugh mean?

Did he agree?

"Just as long as you remember that you belong to me, I will not restrict you."

Saying so, he reopened the book and went back to reading whatever he was reading before Xu Xinya interrupted.

Xu Xinya blinked.

It... actually worked?

Immediately she was overjoyed.

"I will remember!" She said firmly and left in a rush.

When she pushed open the door to the study, a loud 'bump' was heard.

"Ouch!"

Lu Guang had been standing sticking his ear against the study door. Xu Xinya had excitedly pushed open the door with her full force making him end up falling on his butt.

"What are you..." Xu Xinya was perplexed.

However, Lu Guang quickly put a finger to his lips motioning her to not 'expose ' him.

Xu Xinya quietly walked outside, closing the door of the study behind her she helped Lu Guang up. Her eyes had brightened. "Second Master Lu, it worked! If not for you I would never have tried to communicate with First Master Lu. I sincerely pay my gratitude to you. I owe you."

"Oh, that's nothing!" Lu Guang waved with his hand. However, self-pleased expressions appeared on his face. "I told you no one knows my brother better than me. Just in the future if your relationship gets better, say a few words to praise me every now and then. Other than that—"

"Lu Guang." Suddenly a voice came from inside the study.
