1 1: Welcome to New York..

This is hell.

It's been 5 hours since we left Richmond.

For five hours I've been stuck in this car with nothing to do, and not being allowed to get out unless I needed food or the restroom. I feel like banging my head against the door and I'm sure my brother feels the same way. Oh, Wait He can get out.

"We've been stuck in this damn car for hours, are we almost there yet?" My brother Ethan Whined

"Oh, quit your whining. At least you can get out of the car when you want." I replied

"You quit your whining! it's not my fault that Mom put your wheelchair in the moving van." Ethan yelled

We started bickering back and forth.

"Enough! Both of you!" Mom Yelled.

The car became quiet, I stared out the window for a minute and then I saw it. The Welcome to New York sign. Finally, we're here. I slowly sit back and smile. Welcome to my new life. We pull into the driveway of our new house and gasp. I'm going to like it here. My mom then parks the car and helps me get out. As I get in my chair, my new step-dad comes out of the house.

"Hi baby." he says kissing Mom.

They kissed for a while, then she turned to us and laughed.

"oh, I almost forgot. Adam this is Aurora and Ethan." Mom said

"Hey guys I'm Adam. it's nice to meet you both." Adam says sticking his hand out

My brother and I both shake his hand.

"You have a nice house." Ethan marveled

"Thank you, shame that you won't be living in it." Adam said

"Wait, what we're not? Where are we living then?" I asked

He was getting ready to say something but I stopped him

"If you say boarding school, I'm going to scream."

Adam laughed "You better start screaming then. you're going to boarding school!"

My brother and I both groaned.

I knew this was too good to be true. Back into the car we go.

Ethan turns to me and I can see the anger in his eyes.

"E. It'll be okay I promise."

"How do you know?" He spoke softly

"Because, we have each other. Ethan, we have been through worse than this." I told him.

He sniffled then said "it's supposed to be the other way around. I should be comforting you little Sis."

I just smiled. We sat in silence for a minute until my mother got in the car. She turned around and smiled a sweet, sympathetic smile.

"I am sorry. I was meaning to break it to you slowly but I guess he had other plans. Boarding school will be good for you two."

Silence.

"Say something you too. Please?" She begged

"What do you want us to say mom! You drop everything because of some stupid guy you met. Then said stupid guy wants to put us in boarding school and you don't even put up a fight!" I Yelled

"Do you even know this dude? You met him on the fricking Internet. Do you really love him or you just end it from the money?"

"Aurora stop it." Mom Started to cry.

"She's right. You barely even know this dude!" Ethan agreed

Before we could say anything more, Adam got in and started driving. We sit in silence for the whole drive to the school. I stare at my phone lock screen. it's an old picture of my father and I. God I miss him. I take a deep breath and sit back while yawning. My eyes start to feel heavy and I decide to take a nap until we get there. After a while, I opened my eyes and sighed. Here we go, let's get this over with.

We all get out and I get settled in my chair while Ethan and Mom get the bags. After that, went to the front door where we were met by 2 women. one looks like she is 40, one looks my age. I force myself to smile.

"You must be the Kennedy's, I'm Jacqueline. I am the headmaster, Welcome to The Knight Prep Academy!" Jacqueline introduced

"And I'm Paige. I am the welcoming committee vice president." the second girl introduced

"it's nice to meet you both. I'm Aurora and this is my brother Ethan." I smiled. This time it was genuine.

They took our bags and told us to follow them.

As we walked in, I started to get nervous. People are looking at us, specifically me.

My brother immediately notices and grabs my hand, gently squeezing it.

Jacqueline and Paige took us to the main office to get our dorm assignments.

"Aurora, you will be staying with Misty and Ethan, you will be staying with Mason." Jacqueline told us handing us our keys.

"I love Misty! Ethan, fair warning, Mason is... well I'll tell you later." Paige winked

After that, we went into the main corridor. It was huge.

Jacqueline then turned around and told us that Paige will be taking over the tour, then went back to her office.

Once she left, Paige let out a sigh.

"Finally, I thought she'd never leave." She laughed

"so, about Mason. He's an Ass. We call him our resident bad boy. "

"Oh Great. Like always, they put my brother with the worst people possible. Hopefully he doesn't get suspended or beaten up this time." I muttered

"You better not join his group or I swear I will get out of this chair and kick your butt."

"I won't." Ethan assured

Just then a guy in a black leather jacket came up to us and started making out with Paige.

My brother and I looked at each other.

"I guess that's her boyfriend." I whispered

Ethan shrugged.

"I guess so." Ethan whispered back.

After a few minutes they stopped and turned to us. Paige immediately apologized.

"Who are these people?" the guy asked

"These are the new people. Remember? The Kennedy's." Paige said

"Oh, now I remember. Your father was a rock star." He said

I nodded.

"He's also the one who got into drugs and escaped from prison and caused a manhunt right? you must be Aurora then. I'm Mason Roberts, nice to meet you Princess. "Mason introduced

I wanted to smack him.

"Can we continue the tour now?" I said to Paige.

"All that is left is the dorms. Babe will you show Ethan to your dorm please?" Paige asked

Mason nodded "Anything for you sugar plum. Come on."

Then My brother and Mason disappeared.

Paige smiled and took me to my new dorm.

She walked me to the door.

I was about to go in but she stopped me.

"I just want to apologize for my boyfriend's behavior, it wasn't cool what he said." She apologized.

"Don't. You're not the one who needs to apologize. it's him." I spoke as I open the door and go in.
