69 Stupid Actions, Stupid Consequences

"What? How crazy!" When Hinata heard what had happened to Mimi, going to Haruki, making a face of disgust.

He took the little animal, and turned the kitten in several positions to see if the puss was hurt.

The angry kitten clung to his wrist with its tiny sharp nails, and bit the senior student's wrist, to be released. Hinata returned it to the singer quickly, his face red and flustered.

"Oh Gosh, he's fierce!"

'Minus one, it wasn't Hinata. Not enough competence.' Haruki dismissed him from the list of suspects.

"You should request the surveillance camera footage. I don't think anyone who did this will admit it," Daisuke said. "And to answer your question, it wasn't me. Neither was Jun. We were together all night. Until he went to the casino and I went to Monde Car. And we met again, after I bought a beautiful convertible. But you already know that, don't you?" The influencer answered the question and used the opportunity to be sarcastic.

'Oh, he's really brazen!' Haruki felt his blood boil from knowing that, while he cried a river and slept outdoors in the snow, Jun was seeking solace in Daisuke's arms. 'What a hypocritical son-of-a-bitch.'

He had two reasons to envy Daisuke, A) knowing that Dice-K was so close to Jun that he had the right to hear his confessions, and to know his feelings. B) not having thought about asking for the surveillance footage, but Daisuke did.

"I have an alibi, too. I was playing at the casino. And I'd never hurt an animal. I'm all for the rights of animals and I even donate for the cause," Hinata also denied that he was the one to commit such atrocity.

Haruki didn't really suspect Takashi. So there was only Saito as a suspect. 'Did he do it? Or, perhaps the person who did this trick me to believe he didn't?'

Luckily, there was an effective way to resolve this issue. The singer went on the phone, "I'm Takeda Haruki, I want to see the CCTV footage of my suite, covering the last 48 hours, please."

"There is no CCTV footage of the Prince's Suite. We canceled the surveillance footage at the behest of Takeda Haruki-san for privacy reasons, since 11:23 pm on the first day, Takeda-san," replied the automated voice on the other side of the phone.

"Wait, but I didn't ask for anything! Who placed the order?"

"Takeda Haruki-san."

"And can I hear the recording of that request?"

"Takeda Haruki-san requested the call not to be recorded either, I am sorry. Do you want to make a complaint?"

"No. Oh, wait, yes. I want to report that I didn't make these requests. And if there is any way to recover this data, I want to hear the call." The singer hung up the phone as his mind raced.

"Haruki, what happened," Daisuke asked, upon hearing the singer's responses.

"Someone called and asked not to be filmed inside the room, and used my name to make the request. They don't even have the call asking for the cancellation."

The three looked at each other in silence.

Hinata broke the silence by changing the subject,

"Haruki-senpai, do you already know that Jun-senpai is going to fight in an insane match and he can lose 80% of his health while on it?" And looking at the influencer, Hinata pleaded again,

"Daisuke, please."

"Hinata-kun, I would, but it would not make it worse. Jun is prideful and won't accept our help. He'll take it as offense, in fact," Daisuke spoke with his face drawn, arms crossed at chest level. He was lounging on the couch, and he seemed resigned to the fact.

"Wait, what are you talking about?" Haruki wasn't aware Jun could get hurt badly in this match.

"Jun-senpai lost everything at the casino last night, so he decided to fight to get diamonds. You know, to buy a car and participate in the rally. He fights tomorrow night, and he has little chance of winning," Hinata explained.

"Even if he loses, he will still receive a bonus, so he will not give up Hinata," Daisuke explained.

"What do you mean he lost everything?" Haruki questioned. Jun had been confident all along in his card skills.

"Just like that. Yesterday was not a good day for him. That's how the casinos are - the house always wins! They are games of chance! Winners are the exception, in fact." Daisuke glanced at Haruki, sulking.

The singer lifted his chin, crossing his arms, looking back at Daisuke with half-closed eyes.

"And you weren't there to comfort him? Oh, I forgot. You don't like casinos, and you already had your diamonds for a Lamborghini.

" Haruki knew he was being mean, but he didn't want to stop himself from sticking his finger into the influencer's wound, poking where he knew it would hurt him. Hinata observed the exchange with an open mouth. Haruki turned to the student and asked,

"Hinata-kun, is there any chance a human can win a fight against an android?"

"Jun-senpai dropped two of them that day when you were sick. Perhaps it makes him think so."

"WOW! I didn't know that." Haruki felt his heart aching just by remembering that moment, Jun reaching him lovingly. And to think that now, because of his stupidity, he had lost Jun forever.

Haruki held the stubborn tears trying to damp his eyes and scratch his red nose. He didn't want to look this weak in front of them. Especially in front of Daisuke.

The singer explained,

"I knew about the fight. I didn't know about the risk of losing 80% of his health. I saw that Rocky Lamotta was designed to be a boxer and holds several titles. Doesn't that make the fight illegal? Aside from the fact that he's an android and doesn't feel pain or hurt, and Jun being human and being able to die?"

"No. It doesn't make it illegal because senpai signed a contract accepting the risks." Hinata was fully aware of the matter. "But I'm still concerned, and for these same reasons, I want to take Jun-senpai out of this match. Haruki-senpai, help me, please!"
