"So... is this where we stand now... Kanna? A weapon in your hand, facing at me?"
His voice was low... he was hurt, it was obvious from the tears in his gaze. The ultimate betrayal... What brought us here? I do not know... But I just know that... even in this moment... as I hate him so much... I still irredeemably love this man...
"Do it Kanna... if it is what you have to do..." he said, as he threw his weapon away from him, surrendering.
No... this wasn't how it was supposed to go...

"Where is it that you are taking me?" She asked, as she gazed outside the window of the car.
His hand was on hers, a smirk on his face.
"You'll know soon enough." He said, with a smile.
It had been one week since they had officially started seeing each other. Since that morning he basically confessed in her neck, literally everything about his demeanor had changed. Even though he didn't speak more than before, he smiled more, and was around more. He answered her questions, only those about himself, like what he liked, what he wanted to be when he was younger, if he was good at maths.
Kanna was necessarily scared of asking the wrong questions. She never spoke about Urie, that was a hard limit. The hardest actually. And she never asked about his activities, from when he came home late night.
Since that day, she basically lived in that hotel with him. He didn't want her to go back to Yui's and she didn't either. She wanted to be around this down to earth and accessible Reo as much as she could.
He was such a different person. Not the most talkative, and he still got annoyed really easily with her numerous questions sometimes but he still obliged.
He took her sometimes on dinner. Which surprised her because she expected him to hide her. For one because of his ennemies, and for two because of his family. But it seemed like he didn't care the least. And she was starting to get used to all of this, the guards everywhere, the sudden calls he always had to answer during dinner and how he up and left during the night to come back at dawn, finding her still asleep. But she never slept when he left...
She was in love with him, but that uneasy feeling never left. It actually grew day by day.
Each day she was getting attached more and more and scared for his life... what if one day he was taken from her...
The car finally stopped in front of a building and Reo leaned forward, to her ear.
"What is it that you are thinking about?" He asked, before licking her ear.
And she chuckled. That also. Sex... God... good sex. Reo was a Greek God, and such a beast in bed. She found herself horny every day after just staring at him.
"Where are we?" She asked.
And he took her hand, the door was already opened by his men. She followed him out of the car and noticed it was a gallery. Why was he taking her there?
She followed his lead inside the building. People were staring as usual. She would never get used to it... that attention... she never liked it. God, that was exactly why she chose a job that only needed her fingers.
As they walked in, she noticed a young waitress waiting for them. When she noticed them she walked towards them with a smile.
"The table is ready sir, if you would follow me please." She said in a respectful bow, before walking up the stairs.
They followed without problem, and soon enough reached the 3rd floor where the floor was obviously cleared. Kanna couldn't help but also notice Reo's men not following. This was a first. What was going on?
So then, after opening the door for them, the waitress walked out and left them in that empty room.
"Reo what is this?"
And before she could ask further, she noticed a table filled with food. Candles lit across the dark room.
Reo led her to the table and as they finally reached the table, Kanna noticed the note on the table.
"Happy birthday"
She turned to him and smiled. How could she forget her own birthday? And how did he know.
"How did you ?"
He just smirked before sitting down.
"You're 24 today. How does it feel?" He asked, with a look that said he was genuinely curious, with brought to her attention, she never knew his age...
"Feels like feeling old but still in my twenties... " she answered before picking up a rose on the table and bringing it to her nose.
"Thank you for this Reo." She added before gazing at him. He was looking at her attentively.
"What is it that you want?" He asked, playing with one of the rings on his fingers, as she basically lived with him now, she had come to know that, he did that when he had something in mind.
"You" she spoke, before sitting down, next to him.
But he wasn't having it.
"No Kanna... I want to know what is it that you want? I want to give it to you... I want to offer something, that'll stay in your mind forever..." he said, bringing his face closer, as he stared at her lips.
She smiled before putting a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"I don't want nothing Reo... you make me happy... I'm glad and satisfied right now..."
"And later?" He asked, as his eyes were lost on her playful fingers, stoking the rose.
"Later maybe I'll enjoy your body as much as I want to." She said with a smirk
And his smile grew wide.
But as he was about to speak, his phone started ringing. And her smile faded. She knew what was going to happen next.
He got up, walked a few steps away and started speaking on the phone.
Her mind drifted away. It had only been one week. And she could feel herself loosing patience. She loved how he gave her so much attention now, Thank God for the end of that long episode of pushing and pulling they were playing. But now... even though it should feel better. It didn't.
As he finally walked back to the table she didn't even have to face him. She felt his uneasiness.
"It's okay Reo. It's your duty, you have men that need you. I don't blame you, you can go." She said, staring at the window, as the darkness were swallowing the bushes outside.
She hear him sigh, before leaning forward and stroking her hair.
"I'll see you later." His voice was back, cold and dark as it was weeks ago. As she knew him.

She played with her phone as the car was bringing her back to the hotel. Reo has taken another car, she was riding with her chauffeur and the security guy who followed her basically everywhere.
As she lost yet another game, her phone rang. Notifying a new message. It was from Yui.
"Hey! Don't know if you still know of me but Happy Birthday bitch! I wanted to celebrate with you *as always* but you were unreachable these last few days."
"Yeah... sorry about that, and you know I know of you, of course I do Yui. Love you and thank you so much!"
"Are you okay though?" She sent again.
Kanna sighed loudly before leaning further in her seat.
Was she?
But as she was about to respond to her friend. She heard the chauffeur Yelp and the next thing known, the lights of a massive truck were blurring them out and a loud bang later, she felt herself projected out of her seat. The car turned, again and again, and again. And her unlucky self didn't have her seatbelt on so she was pushed and pulled in every direction, till her head knocked the window hard and she slowly felt consciousness leave her.

"What did you do?!" He screamed as he threw the paintings and traditional objects in the room, where his grandmother and his mother were sitting.
His grandmother not the least bothered and his mother feeling uneasy... she had never seen her son get angry.
"Are you done?" His grandmother asked as she stared at her broken vase with an annoyed frown.
"She did nothing! She-
"Was an outsider, I mean, God Damnit Reo She was a reporter. She studied our world for how long? How could you be drawn to such low quality woman?"
"I do not care what you say!" You can't do this grandmother. She was no threat... you had no reason to harm her."
"I did... you're getting weak my child... I had to find a way to bring the soldier back."
He threw another one of her precious vase across the room and watched as it shattered-
