9 Stupid

Allen slowly closed his eyes and kept his hands hanging. Was he a bother? Allen thought he would have to think everything all over again. He might've scared Kenneth at some point.

He's been keeping his hand, reaching out to nothing, still reaching out and his eyes still closed when he felt a hand brush off a section of his hair behind his ear and felt something tickle his ear.

Allen opened his eyes in surprise. The touch was so calming and caring, he didn't mind it at all. And he had no intention of brushing it away.

He looked to his side to see a smiling Kenneth while still positioning something in his ear. Allen reached out to his ear to know what it was.

It was soft and fragrant. And he liked the texture.

"I saw a flower there." Kenneth pointed to the farthest part of the park where flowers mostly bloom.

Allen was still for a moment. He went quiet while trying process what just happened. He felt annoyed like a girl. He felt like he was pranked and he's annoyed at himself for acting like a spoiled brat buy on top of it all he felt relieved.

He was so close to tearing up and he knew he was being totally over the top. What guy would cry over something as simple as this?

And besides, he wouldn't even be able to explain why he was crying if he started tearing up in front of Kenneth.

Alex held it in, but being a cautious person he is, he just lowered his head and lightly punched Kenneth in his stomach.

"Stupid."

Allen, for the nth time and it was getting pretty annoying, felt his cheeks blush so when he made his remark, it was as if he was whispering.

Kenneth didn't even feel the punch Allen did to his stomach. He raised his brows in confusion and tried to lower his posture to level with Allen.

"Is it because of the flower? do you not like it? It looks good though?" Of course Allen wasn't mad about the flower, he was actually very happy with this sudden development that he couldn't help but turn red.

Now he's afraid that his ears are turning red as well. That'd be pretty embarrassing, honestly.

"That's right!" Feeling helpless, Allen just used Kenneth's reason to cover up his behaviour.

It was pretty dumb and Kenneth felt like Allen was struggling to say something so he felt like he had to do something.

He grabbed a hold of the flower resting on Allen's cheek, planning to throw it away because Allen made it quite clear that he didn't like it.

What guy would like a guy placing a flower on his ear, geez.

"N—!" Before Kenneth could throw it away, Allen immediately got a hold of Kenneth's hand and raised his head at the same time.

Kenneth saw the blush on his face and thought that it was cute. Why the hell does he think that a guy is cute?

"...no"

Once again, Allen was like whispering every word he's trying to say. Luckily for him though, the whole environment's quiet and usually when you're trying to talk to someone and you're really eager to talk to someone then you almost unconsciously pay attention to every word they say so Kenneth heard it all.

Kenneth felt it again. That urge to pinch Allen's cheek but refrained himself for doing so. He gotta stay away from the school's new idol even though that's exactly what he's not doing right now.

Kenneth chuckled at his own thinking and partially because Allen is really acting weird when Kenneth's around and he can really feel it.

"You're finally looking at me" Kenneth smiled warmly in front of the school's idol. Yes, he had the audacity to smile at someone whom the whole school admires but who cares, he's with him today and he's his today.

That was a really weird and possessive way of thinking. Kenneth felt like smacking himself for the cringe. It was so not him.

Allen, feeling embarrassed by this, looked to the side while blushing, avoiding Kenneth's gaze and smile.

Damn, that smile! It's way too dangerous. He gotta know how to control himself, really. It's too blinding.

"Stupid." Kenneth wasn't quite sure why he was called stupid again for the second time. But he felt more confused when he thought that Allen calling him stupid was kinda sweet.

It was kind of a whisper but Kenneth definitely heard it. Even so, he still asks,

"Say that again, Allen?"

"I said...stupid" Allen repeated but this time, it was like Allen was the only person able to hear that but it pretty much satisfied Kenneth so it was worthwhile.

"I know."
