5 Allen(1)

After his parents divorced, Allen chose to live with his father rather than his mother because he had his reasons but such reasons were certainly not because he loves his father. Not at all, in fact he loves neither his Mom nor his Dad. He wasn't cold-hearted of course, but he never ever received parental love from the both of them either. So th feeling was sort of mutual among the family.

When he's living in such dull household before the divorce, he eventually thought about running away but he knew better. Allen wasn't so stupid that he'd just run away. Considering that he was still young and incapable of providing for himself. He wasn't such a fool that he'd throw a tantrum, leave the house and come back asking for money. A little pretending wouldn't hurt.

But what he was feeling really wasn't a tantrum, he wasn't feeling anything towards his parents.

His mom and his Dad never felt love for each other to begin with. They married because of business, like how dramas arrange marriages for the betterment of their business. Eventually, Allen would take over the business he doesn't even want to take over.

When such household exists, it's bound for it to break. They had no problem with it, both of their business were doing very good on their own. No partnerships needed.

Allen couldn't control himself from thinking that he was a mistake. If he wasn't born then the both of them would've had better lives now. Although he wanted to think that, he couldn't help himself from feeling that the both of them deserved a mistake. A headache like Allen is the karma they both should receive for being so selfish.

But Allen was nonchalant about such petty thing as karma. He never actually felt like initiating a revenge. He just sort of wanted to escape such a dull household. But he never really did felt happy even after moving out to his father's new house.

Allen chose his father's house because it was the house closest to the school he'd transfer to, and because his father never remarried. He sort of felt that it would be a bother if he ever get to live with kids his parent would probably have with another man or woman. His mom was already pregnant which left him with no choice but to go with his father.

Allen wasn't particularly sad. He just felt empty. But he wasn't craving so much for love because he already grew without it. The feeling would be foreign and as much as possible he never wanted to feel foreign feelings towards anyone.

Allen was always very confident of his sense of direction. Even if it's just the first time of his exploring a new place, he always gets to his destination.

The first day of school was no exception of course, he managed to get to his school. He could already see the building he should be entering. The only problem is that, he may have turned the wrong corner.

There was a big worn out gate in front of him but there were no students using it and there was no scho inspector either.

Allen couldn't help but scratch his head in confusion. He does this every time he felt annoyed about himself. He was always so confident about his sense of direction that he felt he could go anywhere in the world and not encounter any trouble. This was a first.

"Hey, you shouldn't use that one." Allen was startled but he managed to keep his countenance when he suddenly heard a voice from behind. He slowly faced the guy behind him and for some reason, he felt stuck. He was still and unable to move. He felt like staring.

He couldn't breathe but he wasn't particularly yearning for air. He couldn't move his feet but he wasn't really planning on moving anywhere. He was dumbstruck and confused by the sudden feeling.

Allen tried to blink to break off the gaze but every time he does so, he just gets sucked in to that guy's face. After staring at him for a few seconds, Allen noticed that he was normal. In fact, he was too normal that it baffles him. 'Why is a guy this normal making me stare at him so much without feeling awkward at all?' Allen thought.

His smile was very contagious but Allen tried to resist mirroring that smile and just kept his head down when he finally forced himself to move. No matter how tall he was, his hair was still long enough to cover his face. Allen felt his cheeks flush and because he was too embarrassed to be seen by another guy that he was blushing, he kept his head down. 'What am I even blushing for?'

But even after keeping his head down, he still felt like looking. He sneaks a peek every now and then. That guy felt like the sun and Allen wanted to be blinded by his rays so much. It wasn't painful to his eyes. But he was just too normal that Allen immediately felt like he's going crazy over some guy he just met. How could a normal guy be compared to a sun?

The reason why he kept his head down so much though is because Allen was aware of how socially awkward he can be. He had lots of experience with others. Most of the people approach him thinking that he'd be easy to talk with but he always blurts out the harshest words without meaning to. That attitude was convenient for him anyway.

After a few more seconds of silence, Allen finally asked himself what a guy, with the same uniform, is doing here in a secluded area. Allen initially thought that he too was lost but, judging from the way he speaks, he felt like that guy was really intending to use this gate. Then maybe he could use some help.

But before Allen could even talk he suddenly felt his wrist being grabbed by the guy in front of him. He was shocked and startled but he didn't try to shake off his grab. He felt weak when that guy suddenly flashed his warm smile before his wrist was grabbed. He could feel his knees wobble but tried to keep his body from melting.

"I know a hole somewhere here, it's a big one so we can fit in easily. I don't know why the school hasn't patched it up yet but keep it a secret okay? I always use this"

"Okay" Allen couldn't keep it anymore and felt a curve on his lips. Luckily, that guy was facing front and Allen was still keeping his head down. He was currently feeling all sorts of emotions and he was never an expert on how to handle them.

After they entered the school, Allen was so dazed that he didn't even feel that his wrist wasn't held by anyone anymore. He stared at his wrist again, trying to remember the feeling of warmth he received from a person he just met. He felt himself smiling, eyes arching and cheeks flushing.
