2 How'd This Happen? (1)

"Good, you're here! Now take him home and leave. Don't you see how many bottles he's had? Ugh... I guess I can't complain though. Better sales for me!"

The man chuckled as he broke the silence between the two. He looked at Nam Jung before letting out a loud sigh and dramatically shaking his head. He turned on his heels and walked to the back of the bar.

Nam Jung looked back down. He tried to stand up but only stumbled back on the couch. He buried his face in his hands and sighed. Nu Mi So noticed his rosy cheeks and shook her head.

Nu Mi So hesitated for a while before going up to Nam Jung and helping him up off the couch. He stumbled in her arms and lowered his head.

Nu Mi So slowly helped him walk out of the bar and to her car. She opened the door and helped him get in. When she got back in, she looked over at Nam Jung. Even in his drunken state, he was handsome.

In the nights pale light, his dark brown hair shadowed his oblong face, the light shone on his downturned dark brown eyes, low bridge nose, and tan-ish skin.

Nu Mi So quickly looked away and cleared her throat.

"So, where do you live?" She pulled out her phone for her GPS as she waited for his answer.

Nam Jung looked out the window and mumbled. "Y-Ye Estate... number 505..."

It was just as she thought. She tossed her phone back into her purse. He still lived there after all those years. She clearly remembered that he hated moving places as he was always forced to move as a child. When he first moved into Ye Estate he told her he was never moving again no matter what.

She cleared her throat and ran her fingers through her hair.

"Okay..." She started driving but the atmosphere was awkward. She had so much she wanted to ask him like:

"How are you and Pin Ji Su doing?"

"Is it nice being a CEO."

"Your parent's must be very proud of you."

Nu Mi So did her best to clear those petty thoughts out of her head. She decided not to say anything as that would most likely lead into a fight.

She thought 'Where would the conversation go anyways? He almost couldn't tell me where he lived.'

As Nu Mi So drove she couldn't help but notice Nam Jung's absent expression. She sighed and continued driving.

----

As she drove up to the Estate she noticed the familiar gate.

It was golden and had the words 'Welcome Home'. At the gate to greet you were 3 guards to check if you actually lived there or got consent from the owner to come in.

As Nu Mi So drove up to the gate a guard stood right in front of her car. Another tapped on her window signaling for her to lower it.

"Good evening, Ma'am. May I see you house card, please." The guard may have talked like he was friendly but his hostile expression told her otherwise.

She turned to Nam Jung who was just about sleep. "Where's your house card?"

Nam Jung reached his shaky hand into his pocket and pulled it out. As Nu Mi So reached for it their hands brushed against each other. Nam Jung quickly pulled his hand back and looked back out the window.

Nu Mi So raised her eyebrow slightly. She turned her head back to the guard and gave it to him.

When the guard read the card his expression changed dramatically. His hostile expression turned very friendly.

"My gosh... I'm so sorry Ms.Ji Su. I couldn't recognize you in this light. Go right, ahead!" He swiftly signaled for the others to raise the gate. Before Nu Mi So could correct him, he already went back into his booth with a big smile on his face.

"Just as I thought..." Nu Mi So mumbled quietly.

She looked over at Nam Jung and noticed his hands were balled into tight fists. She rubbed her forehead and continued until she reached his house that was as glamorous as ever.

"...Do you need help gett-" Before she could finish her sentence Nam Jung had already swiftly undone his seatbelt and opened the door.

Just when he stepped out his legs gave out and he fell to the ground. For some reason, it reminded Nu Mi So of her father. He used to go drinking some nights and would come home very drunk. She would sometimes have to help him to his room.

She also remembered that she would call Nam Jung crying when this happened. Nam Jung told her he would make sure she never had to go through that again.

She pressed her lips together and got out of the car. She bent over next to Nam Jung who wasn't making any effort to get up. She let out a long sigh and helped him to his feet. She put his arm around her shoulder, and hers around his waist.

Slowly they made progress to his front door. With her free hand, she dug into his pocket and found his keys. She looked at them for a while then shook her head and opened the door.

She helped him all the way upstairs to his room. When she reached his bed she tried to lay him down but noticed he was tightly holding onto her hand.

She tried to shake out of his grasp but only ended up falling on the bed. She looked over at Nam Jung and noticed he was fast asleep.

"Hey! Let go of my hand!" She couldn't believe that he was this strong even in his sleep.

She tried and tried until she eventually wore herself out. She lay there for a long time until she felt her eyelids going heavy.

All she could hear was Nam Jung's soft breathing as she drifted off to sleep.

----

In the morning Nu Mi So let out a light yawn. Just when she was about to fall back asleep, she felt Nam Jung's hand finally releasing hers.

When she realized where she was at, her eyes shot wide open. She quickly turned her head to the side and saw Nam Jung's wide eyes...
