27 Fighting against the odds.

The Soul sword in front of Reo attached itself to Reo's back and split into two vertical and symmetric halves. The hilt which was split into two as well regained the other half of it's hilt as magma came out of the edges of the hilt and hardened itself. Reo drew the two golden swords on his back as they beamed out pure energy. Both the swords had a hilt carved in the shape of a dragon spitting fire.

The Demon Kings turned to face their sealed armies who haven't tasted blood in years and were itching for some. The Demon Kings lifted their clenched claws in the air and slowly let loose of their grip and opened their palm and were about to unseal their armies.

"Protect the citizens till The Shadow reaches Tristina and...be careful." It was as if Reo disappeared into thin air as he said those last two words. A sharp and loud sound came from the direction of the Demon Kings. Reo's swords were blocked by the Demon Swords of the 1st and the 3rd Demon Kings as they were pushed back a few meters with Evelyn and the other two guardians following his pursuit.

The guardians were outnumbered as there were 7 Demon Kings with only four guardians there to stand against them. Even though Kuro was a Z-Rank, he didn't have the same kind of energy as he used to because he didn't have the Shadow dragon anymore.

As Reo battled against the 1st and the 3rd guardian, Evelyn and the other two fought against the 5th, 6th and 7th Demon Kings. The 2nd and the 4th Demon Kings who were left unengaged glared towards the people of tristina with red murderous eyes as they emitted blood lust towards them while they completely unsealed the armies of all the Demon Kings who started to move slowly and adjust as they were frozen in the same state for years.

The 1st, 5th and 6th dragon spirits raced towards the demon armies and started to mope them down as they were starting to move.

The S-Ranks along with Kuro blocked the gaze of the 2nd and the 4th Demon Kings as the citizens ran towards the South of Tristina lead by Allen and Eshima. Eshima held her tears in as she lead the citizens, even though she wanted to cry. The queen can't cry in front of the people when death is chasing her people, so she held her tears in as she moved away from Takashi's body.

"Sorry...we are closed for today. You can think of other alternatives for your dinner plan." Kuro unsheathed his Soul Sword as his spirit wolf stood beside him growling at the DK's.

The S-Ranks headed by Kuro took a defensive stance as they watched the DK's walking towards them with a demonic grin on their face. Kuro lifted his sword to block a punch that met him in the next second as a crescent shaped dark coloured flame from the 4th Demon king blew away the S-Ranks to a distance.

Kuro held his ground as a volley of red blazing punches raced towards him from the 2nd Demon king. Arnus Edios, The 2nd Demon King had no Demon Sword like the other 6 Demon Kings. The Shadows have held onto the Demon Sword of the 2nd Demon king for 210 years and there was no other sword that could withstand his demonic energy.

The guardians along with Reo sliced the air around them with fierce energy as they exchanged blows with the Demon Kings and released strong gusts of wind which surged through all of Tristina.

As the fight progressed the S-Rankers were being pushed back as if they being toyed. Even though Kuro could hold his ground, he was only in a defensive position with his wolf spirit trying to support him in anyway it can. Reo was taking a hit every now and then as he faced the 1st and the 3rd Demon King at once. The other guardians inflicted a little damage to the Demon Kings as they fought one on one.

Reo saw what was happening to the S-Rankers and signalled Evelyn to go help them. Evelyn immediately withdrew only to be followed by the 4th Demon King who was immediately obstructed by a flying energized Spear, this was the Soul gear of the 6th guardian, Kiyoshi.

"She's got other things to handle why don't you come and help out your buddy, the 6th Demon King here." Kiyoshi said as he pointed the Soul Spear which zapped back into his hands towards the 6th Demon King. Atsuhiko and Kiyoshi backed against each other and took on the three Demon Kings at once.

Kuro ejected into the air as a sharp kick landed on his gut only to be caught by Evelyn who slowly descended as she let Kuro on the ground. She glared at the 2nd and the 4th demon king who were blazing with dark red energy as she said...

"Stop picking on Old man Kuro..." Evelyn signalled the other S-Ranks to help out Kuro as she slid towards the 4th Demon king with an open claw which had Golden Claws fixed to her palm, this was her Soul gear-Fang, they were small in size but were capable enough to shoot dense energy bullets which could turn even a diamond into pieces.

As Reo exhausted half his energy he witnessed that the 2nd Demon King's army was no longer where it was supposed to be. The 2nd Demon King's army marched towards the citizens as the armies of the other Demon kings still struggled to walk and were being constantly attacked by the Dragon spirits. Evelyn shot a volley of bullets which travelled at a great speed but only to be dodged by the 4th Demon King.

Even with the help of Evelyn, the two Demon Kings were too powerful to be held back and the 2nd Demon King's army marched at them at a slow pace as they were drained of energy all these years. It wasn't long after that, everyone in Tristina heard the sound of a thunder falling above them. The barrier broke as it made a sound of a breaking glass. A pitch black sword with a hilt which looked like a dragon being burnt was etched into the ground as it cracked the surroundings a bit.

"I don't like it when someone messes with my uncle or my girlfriend. Arnus Edios...don't worry about your Demon Sword, I have been putting it to good use and made sure no one had the liberty to even touch it." A darkly dressed man with a mask said as he balanced himself on the hilt of the sword etched into the ground while he stole a peak at the 5th guardian, Evelyn.

"You and your dramatic entrances..." Evelyn walked to his side with a smile as she looked at him. The masked man was Shadow, The 7th Guardian.

Even with the barrier broken now, none of the protectors had any energy left nor were they given enough time by the Demon Kings to open a portal. They had no choice but to fight on their own without any reinforcements. The 2nd Demon King's army marched past the Shadow and Evelyn as they engaged themselves with the Demon Kings.

All the protectors of Tristina unsheathed their weapons as they held their stand against the 2nd Demon king's army. As the Demon army approached the protectors, a fierce wind infused with energy pushed them a step back. This was created by Eshima and Allen who made their way to the front.

"Time to run towards the capital as the barrier is broken now, I am sure the Commander or the Prime Minister would come for your rescue..." Eshima looked at the Demon Army in front of her as she summoned an Eagle spirit and her Soul Staff - Bo Staff.

"None of the citizens are supposed to get hurt...Is that understood!?" Eshima shouted fiercely as she charged ahead accompanied by Allen and followed by the protectors who shouted "Understood, My Lady...!"
