41 Chapter Forty-one : introduction

Becca sat on the chair in the room she and Xavier shared . She was having a video call with her mother and father . Azula had started schooling in California and she'd promised to visit her every two months.

" Mum.....so how is the small bakery business going?" Becca asked

" Fine...my dear your father suggested we make it a cafe and bakery and eversince , we've been having customers" Mrs Quin said.

" How's Azuka doing?....I hope he's coping well?....do you check on him....check his books and his tests scores....I want him to be outstanding just like you " Mr Quin said trying to change the topic.

" Of course dad....I do check his books... sometimes when I get home from work....we do his assignments and his last te_"Becca didn't finish her words because she suddenly felt someone's presence behind her and the person even had the nerve to kiss her cheek in front of her parents.

Boom!

" Love....white you talking to that you didn't even notice my presence in the room " Xavier said nonchalantly

" Love????!!!!!!" Both parents said in uttermost shock in unism

" Oh.....um....good evening sir and ma-am" Xavier said with courtesy .

" Rebecca " Mr Quin called out to his daughter whose face from the screen seemed lost and shocked.

" Dad.....mum.....this .....is .I.....I....

" Quit it Rebecca just tell us the truth "

" Let me handle this " Xavier whispered into Becca's ears as he faced the screen of Becca's tablet phone " I think it's time for some introduction "

" I'm Xavier Chen , I'm Rebecca's fiance " Xavier said proudly to Rebecca's parents without batting an eye. Rebecca was still shocked she didn't know what to do. She didn't expect a Xavier to just show up in front of a screen and tell her parent about their relationship.

" Well.....that's more evident.....I noticed the men's clothes on the hangers , the room seemed like a matrimonial room though " Mr Quin said .

" I'm so sorry Dad I didn't mean to keep it a secret from me you guys I just didn't know how to say it and I didn't think it was the right time.....I...I.....i was hoping that Xavier and I drove him to visit you guys so that we can see each other and get to know each other before we proceed to this but nonetheless....not has happened " Becca said almost breathlessly.

" Rebecca...all the money u u sent to us.....was it with Xavier's help?" Mrs Quin asked.

" Not or Mum a few of them and Xavier but I want to sing to you how I actually got the other money when we visit next month , the first semester break would last for two and a half weeks so that way we would see each other " Becca said.

" Okay...you two owe a great deal of an explanation " Mr Quin said to Xavier and Becca

" Uh....one more question.....are you two , you know...uh... sleeping together ...have you....have you done it?" Mrs Quin asked out of nowhere

Becca almost choked on her tea good things Xavier was there to Pat her back to help her come down but the man couldn't help but laugh loudly .

Becca swallowed because she wasn't really good at lying to her parents to their face , especially her mother. " Not all the time as Becca is already three .onths pregnant but we do sleep in the same room " Xavier said and Mrs Quin felt like dieing.

Her daughter not only had a boyfriend.....it was shockingly a fiance....and now they announced her pregnancy?!!!

' So that's the reason behind her fatigue and glowing.....she'd also gained some weight and her tummy looked bigger when she was standing before she complained and then sat down in the study table Xavier brought for her .

" I'm sorry mum....it's not what you think....Xavier and I really love each other.....I didn't do it for his money or green card " Becca said .

She knew that most foreigners enter into contract marriage just to gain citizenship or wealth but in her case fate had brought her a nice cold husband.....HUSBAND????!!!!!!!

' SHE'S NOT SURE YET BUT THEY'RE GETTING THERE'

" it's fine my dear... we're only surprised....juts make sure you take good care of yourself and our grand child.....Xavier I do hope you're a good man....please don't make treat my daughter even if she's not powerful , rich and prestigious like other women " Mr Quin didn't finish because Xavier suddenly caught in " I will never do that sir...I love your daughter with all my heart.... accept my apologies for not asking for your permission first sir but like I said ...Rebecca is my second half and I will make sure to be the best husband " Xavier said coldly and indifferently...It was as if the could feel his domeneering and freezing aura from the phone so both parents chose to seal their lips and quit interrogating them. At least their daughter wasn't too young...On Saturday here would make her 24 so she was definitely ripe for marriage and if it was God's plan for her to have a baby now then so be it .

" Alright son....take care..... we'd be hanging up now "

Beep....

The call ended and Becca threw a sharp and fierce look at Xavier.

" I can see...this pregnancy is turning my baby i.to a wild cat " Xavier teased .

" Is not funny , who asked you to tell them?.....didn't I tell you to be patient and that it would be a lot for them to take in....not just that you even spouted about our baby.....I never knew you were such a blabbermouth Mr Chen!!" Becca said .

From Xavier's imagination , it was as if she was fuming with anger to the extent that smokes were coming out of her ears like car exhaust.

" I'm sorry baby but they saw me kiss you and we couldn't just lie.....or do you perhaps hate our relationship and plan to leave me soon?" He couldn't help but say

He'd been hurt before and he didn't want to loose this woman who was carrying his child. At first he only liked her because he was the first man to touch her , it gave him a vibe of being her being reserved for him but later on his feelings for her began to develop. Whenever he went on business trips , he missed her and even some times at work when during important meeting his mind drifts off to think about her that was when Raymond confirmed him to be in love with Becca

He was not ashamed of it so he went ahead to tell her how he felt only for that faithful day to be a blessing in disguise for both of them .
