76 The Mighty Sword Power

On the other hand, Christie was lying down on her bed thinking about her aunt and Charles wondering how relations can turn poisonous.

" Shall I tell all this to papa?? But Matthew must have told him about all this. What should I do??"

Sinking down into these thoughts, she got up from the bed looking out of the window.

The sky was clear with stars twinkling brightly. She walked up to the balcony and found it really serene. She couldn't sleep with the thoughts of Charles and Barbiana. So, she sat cross legged to calm her mind. Her mind started to drift towards a foggy atmosphere. She tried to concentrate further and found a ray of light amid the fog.

Her mind quickly followed that light and tried to find the origin of source of that light..

And it was then, when everything seemed clear to her. She saw a little girl standing there with a sword in her hand, practicing with it. The girl had drops of perspiration on her forehead. There was a man wearing white clothes standing in front of her. He was emitting such an intimidating aura as if he was above everyone else. He seemed to teach the girl the art of fighting. He looked satisfied with the girl practicing hard. She tried to see the face of the man but it wasn't visible. The girl tapped on the halt of the sword making it disappear. The girl ,then, bowed down her head in front of the man and the man raised his hand to bless her. As the man raised her hand, a beam of light emitted from it and moved towards Christie who was standing behind the girl and struck into Christie's mind.

"Ahh!!!" Christie held her head as she was having a severe headache. She rubbed her head but at the same time, she could feel a new energy seeping down into her mind and flowing through the meridians in her whole body rapidly. Christie sat there , forgetting her pain to control the flow of energy inside her body. She could feel as if her body would burst out if she was unable to control that energy. She sat there forgetting the pace of time. Finally, she opened her eyes only to see that it was time of dawn.

She could feel all the changes in her body and out of instinct, she raised her right arm. With a blink of eye, a light streak emitted from the sky and all she saw that there was a sword in her hand.

How could that happen??

Just for the sake of fun, to see what happens, Christie moved the sword in the air. The sword moved cutting the air leaving behind streaks of light. Christie could feel the electrifying effect of the sword in her hand. She was flawless in her movements with the sword as if she was born with the art of swordmanship. She looked amusingly at the sword. It had a crystal pure white blade. The hilt had some inticate pattern on it with the miniature design of an angel with wings. The wings were spread in a way to form the handle around the hilt forming a firm grip. There were some words craved on the middle of the blade. Christie took a closer look to read what was written onto that.

" Caroline Pristina"

Christie felt a deep sting in her head.

She tapped the hilt of the sword , only making it disappear in her hands. She again stretched her hand and murmured," Pristina"

The sword appeared in her hand. She felt a drop of tear flowing down her cheek. She wiped that tear and smiled painfully. Her blurred memories were returning but the image of that man was still unclear.

Christie looked at the horizon which had started shining with twilight.

She came inside her room and laid down in the bed to have some sleep as the recent knowledge had really taken a toll on her emotions.

She closed her eyes and breath deeply to soothe her trembling nerves.. and then everything calmed down as she lulled herself in a deep sleep.

Next few days were spent peacefully as people were busy celebrating spring festival. Christie was also enjoying her time with much ease. She had stopped herself from bothering about things that were creating negativity around her. These days, she had concentrated on her inner growth.

It was evening time. The sun was setting in the west painting whole sky with red hue. Christie was standing in the balcony of her room watching the people of the kingdom who were preparing for summer festival that was going to be held in the night. Everyone was busy around doing something.

The happiness is infectious. Seeing those happy faces brought smile on Christie's face too. Suddenly she saw a known face in the crowd. But she shook off her head knowing it was impossible to be the same face . As she was rolling her eyes upwards at her silly thought, she felt herself being pulled by something and the next moment, she was standing her head buried in someone's chest.

Christie got alert and wanted to push that person when she inhales the familiar scent. The sudden repulse she wanted to push the person, dies down and she willingly buried her head in that strong chest and hugged the person.

" I knew that it was you in the crowd." she whispered while punching that strong chest.

"Ahhh! It hurts.." came the reply and Christie raises her head to see childish pouted face of Matthew.

She rolled her eyes at his childish behaviour.

"That's my part... to throw tantrums.." said Christie sheepishly and buried her head again in his strong chest.

" I missed you." came a whisper from Christie's mouth.

" I missed you more, sweet heart.. " came hoarse voice of Matthew who suddenly tightened his grip around her waist as if to engulf her and buried his face in her neck. He inhaled her flowery scent.

" You are my whole world.. Christie.."

Christie could feel the pain and the feeling of separation in his voice..

She patted his back lovingly..

"I am here for you.. And it was you who said that I had to grow up.." she complained at seeing the pain his eyes.

" I know that.. But it tortures me also. Every moment spent without you, is like a punishment.. "

Matthew lifted his head and pinched her nose..

He held her hand and led her into the room where he sat on a chair and made her sit in his lap.

Christie also let herself buried in his existence. Now that he was with her, she could let down all her guards and relax. They continued to sit like that in each other's embrace like there was no tomorrow.
