1 That I am?

I have no idea where I am. I remember my life, but then I remember I died… So what I'm leaving now is death? I have never been the kind of guy who believes in Heaven nor Hell.

I have always thought that when someone dies the soul reincarnates and start living another life. But seeing what's happening to me now... I'm not sure about that anymore.

I barely can see my body, but I can notice it's not a human skin color. I do not know what happened to me nor what I'm doing here. I just cannot understand this. What I'm feeling right now… It does not seem that I'm alive nor death. What am I?

Now that I think about it, I cannot talk either, it seems that I have something over me that does not let me do it. It feels as if I have a kind of helmet and, an armor that covers my entire body…

I don't know how many days have passed since I came here. While walking I realized that I am in a place without light, I see nothing but endless darkness. Is it a world without sun? I am not on Earth anymore? Those are the thoughts that come to my mind. First I must look for a light or someone who can help me and tell me what this place is.

Now that I realize... If this is supposed to be another type of life; How I have not died? I have not eaten anything and I'm sure many days have passed... Now I'm sure I'm not in any part of Earth that I have known and It seems I'm a creature that I cannot distinguish and have not met before ...

After countless days of walking through this place and being close to a mental breakdown and about to go crazy… I finally can see something, but I do not know if I should feel good of seeing that.

Looking around into this endless place ...

I can see some dark creatures with chilling, white smiles, fighting and eating each other ... I do not know what to think about it, but I know I have to get out of here ...

When I was about to leave one of the creatures – That later knew what's called PHA - gets in front of me and without any hesitation attacks me...

'I have to evade it.' I tried to move aside, but in the end he hit me on the left side of my body.

BOOM!!! I could hear how I smashed against a rocky wall, but that did not surprise me...

'I ... I did not feel anything?' The impact only felt like a tap on my body ...

'It seems that in the end what I have is an armor, great.' I was immersed in my thoughts without looking around me. I heard strange sounds that started to become louder and louder, there were hoarse and fierce roars coming from different creatures and that scared me. When I look up ... I could see all those creatures looking at me as if I were the prey and the most delicious food for them...

'I ... I should get out of here.' I tried to stand up and run, but one of those creatures was heading towards me so fast that I jumped by instinct and in doing so I realized how high I can jump, I felt it because of the air and suspension.

'Incredible ... I guess I'm a super man?' I could sense that the others were ready to come for me. So I jumped on the creature that attacked me and could open my way between them ... But it was impossible to escape ... There were hundreds of them and even though I could feel that I am strong and I have an armor ... Will I be able to beat all of them ...?

'I ... I cannot die.' I look at the creatures and I understand that this will be my fight for survival.

'It's time to live this life, I do not know where I am or if I'm dead and I'm in hell, but I will not let myself die for a second time!' I Jump pushing my body forward, near to one of the creatures and in rapid movements, I attack first with my left arm as if was a big and strong ax and then my right fist collides with the face of the creature.

CRASH!! I could hear the sound of something breaking. The creature collapsed at my feet.

'Apparently I have a chance ...' I sense the creatures coming towards me… If I have a mirror and the sunlight illuminated this room, I would see on my reflection the smile that defined me my whole life: A smile with hope.

'Now ... Let's START!' After screaming in my head to give myself courage, I can attack them without fear, with hope and a daring determination to win...

'I did it.' After seeing the last of these creatures fall and feeling that I'm safe, the silence of my surroundings that I got used to it started to emerge again. Now I can say that I won.

'I survived or I hope so ...' I stood there immersed in my thoughts for a while reliving the fight in my head over and over again. Then I suddenly notice something that looked tiny and almost that seemed nothing more than a small line...

'That's ... Light.' I exclaimed in my thoughts seeing this shinning little fissure on the wall made in the fight with these creatures.

'I can finally escape from here.' Feeling that I can get out from this place that looks like a prison. I jumped with all my strength and with my fists I hit the place where I saw that light.

BOOM!! I could hear and see how the fragments of the rocks were fired to all directions. The light enlarged from a small line to become as brilliant as the moon reflected on the beautiful Earth.

'It's just beautiful ...' When I destroyed that part and opened a path to the surface, my body and my mind starting to tell me to leave this place. Little by little I moved to hoping to see the dark sky.

I looked back to see all the path walked to get here, I was surprised when the bodies of the creatures weren't there anymore. It seems as if they never existed.

'Was all in my imagination?' It's the only thing that came to my mind that I could think of, the isolation and loneliness could have played with me.

'What is left now is to see this world...' I stopped looking behind and started heading to see the sky.

'Now I kind of understand how I was able to jump so much ...' On my back, I could see a pair of big, black wings of approximately 1 meter and 50 cm each, 'why I did not try to fly?...'

'There is always a first time, right?' I opened my wings and started to flutter them. My feet left the ground and then my body was suspended in the air, I realized how easy it was.

'I guess it was not difficult.' I felt relaxed knowing that I can do it, now I could explore the world I'm in and that thought surprised me more.

'What is this place?' I exclaimed seeing the dark sky and over a desert that seemed to have not end.

After seeing my surroundings and getting to know this place where I am right now, I wonder looking at my body: 'And ... what am I?'
