3 Chapter 3

I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen, my mom was in there.

I had on a grey skirt and white lace shirt; I had the heels in my hands.

My hair was in a messy ponytail, with light makeup.

"Good morning sweetie are you ready for your first day?" Mom handed me a bagel with cream cheese on it.

I took it and took a bite.

"How do I look?" I asked mom nervously with my mouth full.

"You look good. Don't be nervous okay,"

"I haven't had to work a P.A position since college, but how hard can it be? Right?"

"It gonna okay, you'll see, it just temporary and I'm sure Mark's brother is that bad." Mom smile at me.

Mom was a gorgeous woman; she was in her 60. She had raised me alone; she had got divorced before she had adopted me when I was three. She was a great mom, nice, loving and caring; she just wanted what was best for me and had always supported me in what I wanted.

"Right," I let out a deep breath.

"I need to get going." I grabbed the bagel, said goodbye to my mother, and ran out.

"Have a good day sweetie." Mom yelled from the kitchen.

"Bye." I yelled back as I closed the front door.

*****

I walked into Miles's office; he was on the phone. He looked at me; I smiled at him.

I have had to deal with different people I can deal with this guy; for the time being.

"Yes, I'll bring a bottle. See you tonight." He hung up.

"Close the door." Why's he grumpy, oh god.

I closed the door and walked in.

"Good morning."

Just smile, you'll be fine is only temporary.

"Morning. So I need you to deal with my calendar," I stopped him.

"I support to do whatever you want me to do, calendar, meetings, food whatever you want."

He looked at me.

"Right."

"Yes, so where do you want me to start?" I looked around the office then back to him with a smile.

"I'm still not sure why you want to work for me; I would have thought Mark would have talk shit about me."

"Well Mark is not a Saint and the only thing he had said about you is that you basically the black sheep of the family but besides that, I don't really know anything about you besides that, of course, you're Mark's older brother." I smiled and raised my eyebrows.

"My family doesn't like that I didn't go into the medical field. And I know Mark is not a saint but he is the family's favorite so if you want to say I'm the black sheep then you can,"

"I don't think that you deciding to go in a different direction then your family wanted you to makes you the black sheep of the family. You shouldn't have to do what someone else wants you to if you want to do something else, so good for you." I was not going to judge him for his decision to go in a different way than what his parents wanted.

"Right Okay then, I got to go do something but I need you to cancel my 5 a clock and clear out my desk, think you can do that?" Clearly, he didn't want to talk about his family.

"Sure. I need your password for everything."

"Right. You can use my laptop." He turned and picked up his phone.

He walked over to me and stopped.

He was about 6, 2, standing in front of me.

"I'll come back later." He walked out without another word.

"Do I got an office or," I looked at him

"Do you need an office?"

"No, just a laptop."

"Great don't break anything." He closed the door behind him.

Seriously, don't break anything?

How old does he think I am?

I looked around the office.

"Okay." I drop my bag on the couch and held my breath.

"Okay cancel an apartment and Okay...That not hard."

"Stopped talking to yourself." I whispered.

Right.

I walked behind the desk, it was a black glass table and the chair was a brown leader. There was a laptop on the desk and some papers too.

There was a dresser opposite side of the window; there was a wall decoration hanging over it.

I sat down in the chair and taped the laptop starting it back up. I started to work; cancel his five a clock and going through his calendar.

The day went by easy; every time Miles come in, he would look at me like he didn't know what to do with me. I sat on the couch, as Miles step back into the office. He looked at me.

"I thought you would have left by now." It wasn't a question. He looked at me with a look that said what the hell are you still doing here.

"Yeah I was gonna go but you have some awful organizing skills, so I'm cleaning up your calendar."

"Well, thanks but I'm gonna leave, so you can go." So his mood hadn't changed since this morning.

"Yes, you have plans at 7, poker. So you need anything?" He Stopped up and looked at me with a surprised look like he expected I was incapable at my job.

"No, you can go home."

"I'm gonna stay I got things to do.

"Suit yourself not stay too long." He walked out given me and long look as he was sure about me and closed the door.
