5 Chapter 5 - New Life as the Duke's Daughter (3)

After reading the book of Sollia, Mary continued to read her different stories.

Luella tried to listen in order to gain more information, but she can't wrap her thought about the fact that she is inside of a novel. And more specifically, at Facade's story line.

(I... I never thought I would be here. But- Why? and How...? Is the AU of this story is actually from a real existing world..? Also.. The name Luella never popped out in the story. So I never really noticed.)

(It also said that the Duke Ansley did not have any children because he refuse to wed another woman after her wife- Duchess Veronica died.)

(SO WHY AM I HERE?!)

She sighed and looked at Mary, She looked like she's enjoying reading to her and there's Luella suffering for gaining information about her situation.

(...Wait- As I remember...Duke Ansley is a wild crazy dog that killed another Duke, Duke Brennette, for power. In the story.. It said that the death of his wife made him insane and made him thirst for power and blood, which led him to his destruction.)

(Thinking this logically... Duke Ansley may have a daughter that was not mentioned in book. He may have hidden her from the crowd and tortured her because... he blames her from the death of her beloved wife.)

Luella froze and shivered at the thought. It may not be written in the story but looking at his behavior in the story, that is more likely plausible. Heavy emotions started to swell in her chest.

She's afraid, Now that Luella experienced death once, She appreciates life more. She doesn't want to die early again, and wants to live freely and reach her dreams just like her mother, Lady Veronica, told her to.

(...Mom...It looks like...Im breaking my promise to you.)

(I... don't want to die again)

(Im...Sorry)

Luella's eyes starts to water and she slowly sobs. Mary flinches as she saw the princess cry out of nowhere. She puts down the book and starts to check her while slowly rocking her.

"Oh no...Princess what's the matter? Did you soil your pants..?" Mary checked the crying baby's diapers but she is still clean.

"What's wrong... princess are you perhaps hungry..?" Her voice grow more concerned as the old maid didn't know what to do with the crying princess.

(Mary... She will also die in the story... When the duke meet his fate, All of his loyal subjects... died along with him.)

(Mary... my poor lovely Mary...)

After that Luella tried her best to eavesdrop to the maids and pay attention to every story that Mary tells her. In order to gain more information and in order to leave and survive from the crazy duke. And maybe...just maybe...meet Cain.

Luella was dozing off but smiled at the thought of Cain.

(Being born in a Third Rate Fantasy Romance Novel is really weird and being born in the Crazy Ansley family is scary but thinking of meeting Cain makes everything... WORTH IT!)

(I wonder...where is he right now? He is probably around 1 year old right..? It said that Cain was born a year ago around this time)

(1 year old huh... He is probably with his mom at the country side. He will only be sold by his father to a viscount when his mother died from unknown reasons.If i remember it correctly, he around 4 years old back then.)

(If I can I really want to save him from that sadistic viscount.. but what can i do anyways?)

She continues to thought about what she will do until she completely dozes off to sleep.

Few months later.

Luella is now a 7 month old baby, she smiled as looked at the impressed maids clapping to her.

(Ha! Ha! Ha! I can finally...FINALLY CRAWL! FREEEEDOOOOOM!)

She zooms as the maids cheers for her new life achievement.

She smiled and continued to crawl until she bumps to a big shiny mirror.

(Ah- I...I- wow! I never...looked this cute in my entire life. In my past life, I am really normal-looking girl.) Luella squeal as she looked at her reflection at the mirror.

Mary laughs and smiled, "It looks like the princess likes what she looks like- Well indeed. Our Little Princess is definitely one of the most beautiful lady in the empire." Mary said as the other maids nod in agreement.

Luella didn't pay attention of what the maids were saying and just looked at her reflection. Long white lashes and a platinum hair, Just like her mom- Lady Veronica but the difference between them is that she got the Duke's eyes. A deep and bright greenish- blue eyes. Oceanic Eyes. She blinked once and thought of the second prince- the male lead.

(Huh? Oceanic eyes...)

(How did the author described the prince? Uh..."Bright Blond Hair beaming its glory like the sun with a pair of a calm and kind yet dangerous oceanic eyes.")

(In the story facade, People that have those eyes are...pure blooded-royals. My dad is the Emperor's brother which means...Im- Im the male lead's cousin.)

(Im so stupid, Why didn't i thought about this when its so f&cking obvious!)

Luella looked at the mirror and put her hands at it then sighed.

(Im getting...more and more involve with the stupid story! Well- Now that you've think about it if i really want to survive and meet then save cain, I should try and change the story.)

(But- On second thought, that would be dangerous though... Knowing the flow of the story is my only advantage in this world... Changing and Losing that only power would make things difficult for me.)

(If i will change the story...I need atleast an insurance that I wont be hurt nor die if i did something dangerous. I need something to protect myself.)

"Princess?" Luella snapped away from her thoughts when she heard someone is calling for her.

"Princess...? Is something wrong? Is our princess hungry?" Mary asked and she looked at Luella with concern. Luella didnt noticed that she's been stating at the mirror too long and made her care takers worried.

Luella looked at Mary and smiled.

(Ah! I've think too much again! I should stop doing that! Mary and the maids will be worried!)

"Ah! I know! Princess is probably bored right now!" Elly, The young maid said.

She excitedly lift her sleeves and smiled at Luella then after that red, whit and pink roses started to pop out of the young maid's hands.

Elly smiled proudly when she saw that Luella's eyes sparkled.

(Magic...Yes! Magic exist in this world! I can use that!)

Luella giggled and raised her arms acting like she wants a hug from the young maid.

"Oh my! Princess! It's an honor to make you smile! Im glad you liked my flowers!" She said and carefully carries the small princess.

(I definitely like it, Elly! You're such a genius! I love you! Hehe!)
