2 Chapter 2 - Just like any other day (2)

Few hours later.

Leah stretched her arms as she breathes loudly as a sign of relief, knowing that she knew and familiar with the answers to most of the questions in the exams.

"Feels good to be naturally smart huh? Im jealous, I think i bombed my math exams" Anna whined rubbing her face to her wooden desk.

"C'mon, Im sure you did great!" Leah frowned and lightly tapped Anna's arm because of her lack of self confidence.

"You studied all night right? You'll be fine! Though if you really bombed it- I'll help you study next time!" Leah said then hugged the depressed friend and caress her back.

Anna pouted and hug Leah, "Okay then, fine".

"Anyway, stop with the self reflecting sessions. Even we bombed the exams we have no choice to accept it since it already happened. Let's just eat, Im hungry. Also, Leah is treating us." Maiko splutter as she looks at Leah, smirking.

"What?! You said i will only treat you!-" before Leah can even finish her statement Takeru cut her words.

"That's unfair, You have three friends calling and texting you and you will only treat Maiko? Look at her and her favoritism tendencies" Leah gasp at how thick skinned her friends are.

"Im-" Leah wanted to argue but she saw Anna looking at her with hopeful eyes and sighed.

As her big sister senses activated she just pat Anna's head and nod.

"Fine fine, Pick something cheap, Im broke. I paid for the release of Facade yesterday." She said and put her hands up as a sign of defeat.

"Leah, You're the best!" Anna said as she hugged Leah.

After that, They went to a barbeque place were they sell the best banana puddings.

The group inhaled everything as Leah looked at them disgustingly. "Is everyone enjoying themselves? Spending other people's money?" Leah sarcastically said then poked her ramen.

"Of course, I can eat free food and see you suffer at the same time, Isn't that the best scenario?" Takeru said as he inhaled the cold noodles infront of him.

Leah just scoffed at him and continued eating until something caught her eye.

"Am i... going crazy?" Leah muttered.

"Hey, What's wrong? Why are you spacing out? Your ramen will get soggy if you dont eat them quickly" Maiko said and tapped the table, trying to capture he friend's attention but Leah didnt budge. She just stared at glass window, specifically at the street, as if she saw a ghost.

"Leah? Are you okay? What are you looking at?" Anna looked where Leah was looking but she didnt noticed anything wrong nor interesting. She tapped Leah but the girl remained silent.

"Hey, What is it? Snap out of it." Takeru said with an obvious concern in his voice.

The three of her friends start to freak out when Leah didnt answer any of them and just stared at the window.

"Leah-" Before Takeru could even speak their friend immediately stood up and hurriedly rush through the street.

"CAIN!" Leah shouted.

Leah dashed out of the restaurant, she's pale and she looked like she saw a ghost because SHE IS SEEING ONE.

Well- Not a ghost but something or rather, someone who died awhile ago- not in real life but in the novel.

Leah didn't know whether she had gone crazy from crying over the novel or she was just too obssessed with it when she is clearly and currently seeing Cain- her favorite character in person.

Leah stopped and think.

(Wait- Let's think logically and stop with the weird fantasies. Remember you asked for a sketch from the author what Cain looked like- No matter how i look it is exactly the same. Same facial features, body build and even the beauty mark under his eyes)

(That person might be just coincidentally look like him or maybe he was the inspiration for his physical characteristics?)

(But why- Why does he dressed like that? He is wearing an armor- cosplay?)

(Either way- whether im hallucinating or not i dont care. Let's just confirm if he is just a creation of my ongoing evolution of being someone crazy or is he real. If it's the latter, I want to talk to him or maybe have a picture with him)

She followed the mysterious man and shouted.

"Excuse me! Uhm! Excuse me! Can I talk-" She stopped when the Cain-look-a-like halted and looked at her with his unexpectedly warm eyes.

Now that Leah is seeing him closer, The mysterious person does look like the sketch that she bought from the author of "Facade" but their eyes are different.

Cain have dark and cold apathetic red eyes, but this man has a warm auburn brown colored eyes.

Leah stared at him and about to ask him something but-

He opened his mouth then looked straight to her eyes and muttered "...Save him please" she froze as the mysterious man disappeared in front her as her eyes gone blurred and her ears loudly rang.

Leah tried to open her mouth but she can't. It's weird. She suddenly feel hot and cold at the same time.

(What is this?)

"It...hurts.." Leah muttered. She squinted as her eyes adjusted to the light and her ears adopted the loud noise and commotion around her.

She saw Anna crying her eyes our while Takeru is talking to his phone frantically. Maiko was there shouting through the crowd.

"Doctor... Please is anyone a doctor or a nurse here? Please- Someone save our.. friend." Maiko started to choke at her own tears but she still shouts trying to look for a suitable person to give Leah a first aid. The three of her friends are so afraid to touch her because her arms and left foot were dislocated and she's bleeding through her head.

Leah accessed the situation and looked at the truck besides her. Strangers holding down a fat guy wearing a blue shit and a black cap. The fat man was shouting.

"I didn't mean it! She just appeared out of nowhere! What the f&ck do you expect me to do?!"

(Did i got into a car accident?)

(I didnt- I didnt noticed nor feel anything..)

She looked at Anna that still crying by her side.

"A-Anna..." Anna jolted as she touched her blood soaked friend.

"L-Leah... Everything w-will be fine. Takeru is calling 111 for help and M-Maiko is calling for a doctor. T-That's why d-dont worry... Y-You'll be fine" Anna said as she tries her best to speak through her sobs and smile at Leah trying to reassure the dying girl that everything will be fine.

Leah opens her mouth and smiled "Call them for me..." Leah knows- She will die. Her conciousness is seeping in faster than she expected but she know death is coming for her.

Anna called the two and they immediately forced a smile at Leah.

"Leah, dont worry the 111 said they are on their way-" Takeru stopped when she saw a tear escaped from Leah's eye.

"Haha... What's with the weird faces?" Leah chuckled as she squinted her eyes making her face seems like smiling.

She bit her lip and took a breath, trying to stop the tears that escaping from her eyes.

"Thank you b-but i guess it's f-fine...I-I love you guys... I-I thought this would be just like any other day but i guess... This is the end of my dumbass self" She chuckled but as she do she felt a cracked rib pierced through her lungs. She choked and cough out blood. Even talking hurts her.

The three of them didn't utter a word. They knew... She's dying.

Leah smiled, "Please tell... the o-old lady in my neighborhood that t-thanks for the delicious m-meals b-but i guess i wont be eating her meals again... Hahaha also... T-Tell mom that i love her so much and i-im...sorry for being a such a bad daughter..." After that the small hint of life that was clinging to Leah's eyes suddenly vanished.

She died, while having that forced smile plastered on her face.

The moment Leah died Anna wailed- She screamed so much, mourning the lost of her precious friend. She didn't say anything. She didnt do anything. She just sat there, and cried, pouring her heart out.

Takeru dropped his phone and slowly gripped his chest. "You dumbass- You didnt even wait for me to confess..." The uncontrollable tears starting to cloud his vision and all he can think and feel about is his sadness and regret.

"N-No...Leah.. Leah dont joke about this..This is not funny!" Maiko as she dashed and hugged the warm corpse of her best friend.

"Wake up.."

"Wake up and tell me that this is just one of your stupid impulsive pranks!!!"

"YOU DUMBASS WAKE UP!" Maiko shouted as she shook Leah's body, trying to wake her up.

Takeru stopped her and tapped her shoulders.

He whispered, "She's...She's gone"

Maiko's lips shivered and looked at Leah, "...You said you'll treat me and give all of your banana pudding, you can have all of them just...just come back... open your eyes..."

"Please..."
