258 King Jellal

(Jason's POV)

I frowned, "How do you know my name?" I said

Mystogan walked up to me with a smile, "Long story." He said, "Follow me, I will explain."

"Your Majesty, are you sure?" Erza asked

Mystogan nodded, "Of course." He said, "I'll be fine."

He began to walk towards some large double doors as the guards opened them. I didn't know what else to do but I had no choice but to follow him and see what this whole deal is about.

As I followed him, there was nothing but silence in the halls. I couldn't help but just think about the many reasons this guy knew my name. I don't ever remember meeting him. The only one I met with his face was Earthland's Jellal and I was kinda annoyed at that guy for even speaking.

Not only that, I was trying to think of the purpose of me even being here. Why the hell did Selene sent me to a place with no magic? Was it just her flexing her power of dimensional crossing? Or was there something else to it?

We then reached a room, Mystogan walked towards the center of it and turned around, facing me. He still had that slight smile on his face.

"My apologies for sending my soldiers to you." He said, "As soon as I noticed the portal opening, I had to act quickly. Little did I know you were the one that crossed over."

"I still don't know why you know my name." I said with a frown

Mystogan then gestured to his side.

I turned to see a massive portrait that was hanging on the wall.

I widened my eyes, "W-What?" I said walking over to the portrait

It was the portrait of a man that looked exactly like me, he had royal clothing and had a spear on one of his hands. The spear looked awfully similar to the one Knightwalker wielded.

I looked at Mystogan, "What is this?"

"Your Edolas counterpart, I assume." Mystogan said, "King Jason Raregroove, the creator and first wielder of the Holy Spear: Ten Commandments. A weapon that Erza Knightwalker wielded when she served the previous king. Back when we had magic."

"King?" I asked, "Jason was a King here?"

Mystogan nodded, "Yes, but a long time ago." He said, "He's the one that unified Edolas under a single banner and kingdom, not my Father. My Father merely distorted that story and made himself the powerful monarch he needed to be in order to get the people to his side."

I looked at him, "Is that so?"

This was odd. I knew right away that this Jason wasn't my counterpart, it was Anna's Jason's counterpart; Jason Glory from 400 years ago. He wielded the Holy Sword: Ten Commandments during the time of Dragons. This Jason wielded the Holy Spear, even was a King of this world. Which was some high status shit, if I do say so myself.

I am not originally from here, so why would this person be my counterpart?

But there's no denying it, this man had the same face as I did. It was completely odd.

That's not to say that my current face was crafted or changed by the System that brought me here, no, I've always had this face as long as I can remember. It was my body that was merely chiseled to be extremely fit and strong despite it being out of shape prior to being brought here.

All that aside, My face was my own.

"Myst-..." I said before stopping

Mystogan raised an eyebrow, "You know the name I used in Earthland?" He said, "Don't tell me, you're a member of Fairy Tail?"

I shook my head, "Nah." I said, "But I am friends with them. I know of your exploits there, though."

Mystogan nodded, "I was an S-Class Mage, it's to be expected." He said, "I hope everyone is well."

I looked at him seriously, "All this aside, let's get to business."

He looked at me seriously as well, "Let's." He said, "I cannot let you walk around freely."

I frowned, "Why?"

"In case you haven't noticed, Jason, there is no magic in this world." He said, "None, whatsoever. My people have struggled to live without magic but over the years, we persevered and managed to live without it."

"I see." I said, "But I don't have to be here. I just need to find an Anima gate."

"I can't let you do that, Jason." He said, "You don't understand, I can't let you access the X-Balls either."

"Why not?" I asked

I was starting to get frustrated, I had no idea why he was acting this way with me. I had to find a way to return home, no matter what.

"Jason." He said, "Nobody here, not a single living being has magic. But you.....you have a lot of it.."

"Yea, I'm from Earthland." I told him, "I naturally have magic power, even if I can't access it right now, I still have it no? I just need the x-balls or whatever they're called to use it. I can use it to get out of here, probably."

"Not just that." He continued, "You may not have access, but I can sense it, an abundance of magic power, trying to force its way out."

I raised an eyebrow, "What?"

"Think of a tightly shut lid on a pot of water being boiled constantly." Mystogan said, "The steam is trying to force it's way out of the sealed lid, attempting to break free. That's your magic power right now, I can feel it. We need to keep you here and observe you."

"That's good then." I said, "If my magic power can break free from the restraints this world is placing on me, that's fine by me."

"You don't understand, Jason." Mystogan said seriously, "For the safety of my world, I cannot allow that. If you have full access to your magic power, you will be a being far beyond our grasp. I cannot allow such mass panic to occur. You have to forgive me.."

"I must keep that from happening."
