218. Power of A Dragon

Ben hears Smog's voice again after a few years. Smog is the Heat Dragon that he met a few years ago after he joined a racing competition. Well, Smog was dead already and Ben only met his soul that was left in a cave where he died.

At that time, Smog's soul entered Ben's body to help him suppress his Dragon Seed. He can't suppress it for too long but it helped Ben to use his magic more freely. Smog told him that the only way to suppress it fully is by sealing a Dragon as strong as Escanor the Sun Dragon.

The only one that Smog knows to still exist to this day is Acnologia. Smog was the one who told Ben about Acnologia who killed Smog and many other Dragons. He also promised to help Ben fight Acnologia when the time comes.

Now is the time and Smog finally appears. Ben almost forget about him because many things happened in these few years. If Smog can help him in this dire situation, then he will gladly receive it.

'Boy, you are still not ready to face Acnologia,' says Smog in Ben's mind.

'What can I do? He came to me by himself,' replies Ben.

'Well, life is full of unexpected things. Anyway, I will give you all my last power. With your current level, you still won't be able to defeat him even if I give all my power to you. But at least you can escape and survive with my help,' says Smog.

'I can't escape and leave my friends here to die,' says Ben.

'Then do your best to survive. Everything will end when you die. Alright, get ready, boy! I will transfer my power to you now. Your magic power storage will increase temporarily, so eat whatever you can to fill your magic power,' says Smog.

'Understood,' replies Ben.

'Alright then, Son of Escanor, I think this is goodbye. My soul will disappear after this, so we won't meet again. I hope you succeed and survive this,' says Smog.

'So it's time, huh? Thanks for everything, Smog. Enjoy your afterlife,' says Ben.

'Yeah, don't follow me so soon or you'll ruin it,' says Smog.

Ben smirks and replies, 'Heh, just don't get lonely because it will be very long before I come.'

Smog also smirks and then releases all his remaining power, giving it to Ben. Ben feels his power increase and his magic power storage expands. His body feels hot and he is very hungry so he opens his mouth to eat his elements.

He eats the available elements which are sunlight and gravity. Now he can eat normal gravity after he ate Bluenote's gravity magic. It will be very useful when there's no other element for him to eat.

Ben eats the sunlight and gravity very fast that it looks like he sucks them. His magic power raises at a high rate and it surpasses his normal capacity because now his reserve increases temporarily. His reserve now is around 2 times his original MP reserve.

He gathers energy as fast as he can because Acnologia is also gathering energy now. But he knows that Acnologia is faster so he stops for a moment to do something. He can't match Acnologia's energy-eating speed fairly, so he needs to cheat.

Ben suddenly teleports below Acnologia's jaw when the Black Dragon prepares a roar attack. He uses strong gravity magic to make a pushing attack on Acnologia's lower jaw. His attack pushes Acnologia's lower jaw strongly and disrupts the roar attack.

Surprisingly, it didn't stop the roar attack but changed its direction instead. Ben's attack made Acnologia's face lift, so the roar attack shots to the sky. It reaches a very long distance and makes the cloud part and disappears.

Ben widens his eyes seeing its range and power. But he also sighs in relief because that attack failed. He can't be relieved for too long though because Acnologia is getting annoyed by him now.

Of course, Ben knows that so he teleports back to the island. Then he resumes consuming his elements and replenishes his magic power. He does it faster than before and his magic power spikes to a whole new level.

As his magic power surpasses what he originally can store, a change appears in Ben's body. Golden scales start to appear on his limbs, body sides, back, and the corners of his face. His hair transforms into a golden flame and his body gets a little bigger.

Then a red dragon head tattoo appears in the middle of his chest. It is caused by Smog's power that gets transferred to Ben. Ben's skin also gets a little reddish and steams come out of his body because he received the Heat Dragon's power.

Ben exhales thin white steam and says, "Haa, so this is Dragon Force. It feels very different from Devil Force."

"Ben, what happens to you?" asks Mira worriedly.

"Don't worry, it's just my Dragon Force. Wendy, can you give me all your buff spells?" asks Ben.

"Ben nii-san, do you want to fight him?" asks Wendy worriedly too.

"Yeah, that's the only way. Hurry up! We don't have much time," says Ben.

Wendy is worried but she still casts all her buff spells on Ben. Now Ben's strength, speed, attack, & defense have increased. He is in his best condition and he is at his strongest now. Not even Gildarts can match his current self, so he has the best chance against Acnologia now.

Acnologia also sees Ben's transformation and it makes him interested. So he just watched it and let Ben finish his transformation now. He could also feel another Dragon's presence inside Ben before, although it's just for a moment.

A pair of wings made of golden flame appear on Ben's back. Then he teleports in front of Acnologia and floats midair. Ben reduces the gravity on his body then uses the wings for balance and keeps his body floating.

He floats right in front of Acnologia and looks like a small golden lightbulb compared to the gigantic Black Dragon. But very strong energy radiates from that small golden lightbulb. The already high temperature in the surrounding also raises because Ben received Smog, the Heat Dragon's power.

"I will be very pleased with my current power if I don't meet you. Even this level of power is still too low compared to yours. I hope this will be enough," says Ben before he charges at Acnologia.

Ben moves very fast, a lot faster than his fastest speed in Light Mode. He becomes a streak of light when he moves now. Of course, he hasn't reached the speed of light, but he is incredibly fast already now.

He flies around Acnologia's body while attacking the Dragon using his Pendragon sword. Ben also shoots solar energy from his other hand many times as he flies. His power has increased a lot now, so his attacks are stronger too.

However, even with his current power, Ben's attacks still don't inflict significant damage to Acnologia. The most he can do is scratch the very tough scales and push Acnologia's body a little. Acnologia is really strong beyond reason.

Ben keeps attacking Acnologia at high speed and Acnologia also tries to attack him. But Ben is too fast in his current form so Acnologia can't catch him. Speed is the only advantage that he has over Acnologia.

The Mages below are amazed at the battle. They can't see Ben's movements at all and can only see golden light flashing around Acnologia's body. But they also know that Ben can't inflict much damage to Acnologia even though he is very strong now.

Then they see Acnologia gets pissed by Ben's speed. He suddenly roars and releases a strong magic power pulse from his body. The pulse is very strong and it pushes Ben very strongly to the ground.

*BOOM*

Ben falls to the ground strongly, creating a big impact. He spits some blood because of the impact. Just an energy release from Acnologia has injured Ben like this.

"Dammit, what an unfair match," curses Ben as he stands up slowly. His struggle to survive the calamity hasn't ended.
