172 172. Testing Progress
Everyone is shocked to hear that Gildarts has failed in his job.
Ben is also shocked and thinks, 'Just how hard is that job? Even someone with 600 thousand MP points can't finish it? Although MP isn't the only thing that determines a Mage's strength, it is still a big factor. Just what kind of enemy that he faced there?'
Judging from Gildarts' MP, Ben knows that he is just as strong as a Wizard Saint. He is stronger than Makarov, a Wizard Saint. So an enemy that someone like Gildarts can't defeat must be ridiculously strong.
'The enemy might be as strong as 4 Gods of Ishgar or even stronger than them. Heh, I thought that I am progressing very fast and becoming strong already. But I still have a long way to go. Gramps is right, I should never be satisfied with myself. The world is big and there will always be someone stronger than you,' thinks Ben while smiling.
Gildarts then leave the guild because he wants to rest. He tells Natsu to go to his place as he walks toward a wall. Ben is now 100% sure that Gildarts is an idiot when he breaks the wall just to get out from the guild. Then another idiot appears as Natsu breaks the wall like Gildarts because he doesn't want to lose.
"Sigh, Master, I think you need to hire someone to teach them common sense," says Ben.
"I will do it if it will work," says Makarov with a resigned look.
"You've tried it, huh? Sigh, now I'm worried about this guild's future," says Ben.
The Mages then resume their party even with a big hole in the wall. They are used to having broken things in the guild, so they won't mind a hole in the wall. But the 11 new guys are quite troubled by it even though they don't say anything.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it soon," says Ben.
"I don't know if this is something to get used to," says Mina as she looks at the guys who fight in the middle and the others are cheering on them.
"Heh, that's what I thought at first too. Anyway, you have become quite famous, right? So I think you've become quite strong too. Let's check your progress tomorrow so you can rest today," says Ben.
The 11 teens grin when they hear that and Yorki says, "Heh, don't underestimate us, Ben-nii. We are not the same kids who couldn't even hit you in the past. So you better be careful tomorrow."
Ben smirks hearing that and says, "Quite cheeky now, huh?"
The next day, they gather in the Guild's backyard to spar. Ben will face the 11 of them alone while everyone else is watching. Wendy cheers for the 11 teens but her cheering is quite strange.
"Good luck you guys, don't get hurt too much," says Wendy.
"Do you want to cheer on them or not?" asks Carla with a sweatdrop.
"Let me join too," says Natsu.
"Stop it! This is not a fight that you can join just because you want to," says Erza as he grabs Natsu's collar.
"A fight, huh? It's really good to be young. Are they new members?" asks Gildarts who has just come.
"That's right, all 12 of them are new members. But they have known each other before and they want to test their current strength," says Mira.
"But 1 vs 11? Isn't that unfair?" asks Gildarts.
"Don't worry about that. Even the 11 of them might not be able to scratch his skin," says Makarov.
Gildarts gets a little surprised and becomes more interested now. The audience then stops talking and looks at the fighters intensely.
Ben cracks his neck and says, "Are you ready?"
"Yes," replies the 11 teens.
"Come then," says Ben while taunting them with his finger.
The 11 of them immediately make their move and attack Ben with their magic.

The 11 of them spread and some of them attack Ben with long-range attacks first. Ben is looking at the incoming attacks and sees a gap between the attacks. He smirks because he knows it's a trap but he still uses it to know what they're up to.
Ben evades the attacks using the gap between them but 3 close-range fighters have waited for him. Mina, Parka, and Felice attack him from 3 sides at the same time. He smirks and evades their attacks quite easily.
"You're certainly progressing, but this is not enough," says Ben while evading their attacks calmly.
"I won't say it if I was you," says Parka while smirking.
Suddenly, Ben hears a flute sound and feels his body stiffened. He looks at Olive who stands behind Dito while playing her flute. She uses her Sound Magic to stop Ben's movement so her friends can attack him.
The 3 close-range fighters attack Ben again and 2 more boys join them now. Ron & Yorki can fight at close and middle range, so now they help the 3 attacking Ben at close range. They know it won't be easy to fight Ben even with Olive's Magic aid.
It's really not easy just as they predicted because Ben still can move even though he is affected by the Sound Magic. He catches Ron's & Parka's fists before throwing them to Mina and Felice. Then he evades Yorki's punch and kicks Yorki's stomach from the left.
Ben handles the 5 of them while being hindered by the Sound Magic and without even using his magic. His physical power is high enough to tolerate the Sound Magic's effect. If it's just raw physical power, Ben is confident that he is far stronger than anyone in Fairy Tail, even Gildarts.
"Ben-nii, can't you take this seriously and use your magic?" asks Ron.
"Then make me use it. If you are just this strong then I won't even need to use my magic on you," says Ben while smirking.
"Fine then. Olive, let's use formation 6," says Yorki.
Olive nods and plays her flute again. Ben thought it will affect him again, but it's not. The magic is affecting her allies and enhancing their power by 2 times. Ben grins seeing it and taunts them again.
They start to attack him together again and they show great teamwork. The group uses many attack variations that are very hard to predict. They combine close and long-range attacks in strange manners. Their attack combinations will hit their allies if their teamwork is not good enough.
Those attacks will surely work on others but not Ben. His reflex and senses are too great for their unusual attacks so he can always handle them even in a very short time. He still hasn't used his magic even after their enhancement wears off in 5 minutes and they get very tired as the side effect.
"Damn, you are still a monster," says Ron.
"Oi oi oi, I am a human you know," says Ben.
"*pant pant* So we are still not strong enough to make you use your magic, huh?" asks Yorki.
"Well, that's not true. I still need to use my magic to defeat you," says Ben.
"No need to lie, Ben-nii. We know you don't need it to fight us," says Hans.
"I'm not lying. I can see through your illusion and handle Olive's Sound Magic because of my magical ability too," says Ben.
"That's just a passive ability, so it doesn't count. What we want is for you to use your active abilities to fight us," says Dan.
"Fine, if that's what you want," says Ben as he lifts his right hand that is covered in a dark purple aura in front of him.
*SWISH* *BAM BAM BAM*
Suddenly, all 11 of them fall to the ground as the gravity around them increased 10 times. They try to lift their body and only some of them can move. Ben increase the gravity to 15 times and now no one can move at all.
"So?" asks Ben.
"W-We gives up," says Yorki with a lot of difficulties to even move his mouth.
Ben stops his attack and the 11 of them are panting and sweating hard. The audiences can see that the 11 of them are quite strong, but Ben is far stronger. The gap between them is just too far apart.
Gildarts grins and rubs his chin, "Interesting."
