153. A Battle of Monsters

"Let's continue, old bastard," says Ben while grinning and bumping his fists.

"What a persistent brat. If you want to die that much, then I'll grant it to you," says Jose as he summons many big shade tentacles around him.

Ben grins and covers his limbs with the light element. He has found out that the shades are weak toward the light element. They are made of dark energy, after all. So light is their natural enemy.

Jose controls his shade tentacles to attack Ben from many directions. Ben can only look with his right eye currently, but his strong senses helped him to feel every incoming attack. But even if he can sense them, it doesn't mean he can take care of them all.

Ben tries to block and counter every tentacle attack. But there are too many of them and they are very fast & agile. They are also strong enough to push him even when he can block them.

However, Ben doesn't show any discouragement and gets even more excited instead. It is such a rare chance for him to have a difficult battle like this. He can make it easier by using long-ranged attacks, but that won't make him grow and he doesn't like that.

As he keeps fighting at close range with the shades, Ben keeps getting better in his fight. The damages that he received reduces, while he can inflict more damages to the shades. He keeps growing in his fight and Jose finally realized it.

'Bastard, this kid is using my shades to train. He is looking down on me,' thinks Jose angrily.

Jose extends his hands toward Ben and gathers a lot of his shades. He makes a big dark energy ball again on his hands. It is bigger and stronger than the one that he used to throw Ben off this place before.

"That attack again? I won't fall to the same trick even if you make it stronger. But these things are disturbing me," says Ben while attacking the shade tentacles.

Jose almost finishes his spell, so Ben decides to teleport away. He appears high in the sky and then he extends his right hand to the sky. Then a big gold magic circle appears on his right hand and a miniature sun appears on it.

"Dragon Slayer Secret Art! Sunshine: Cruel Sun!" says Ben as he makes the miniature sun bigger until it becomes 5 meters wide. It is smaller than the one that he used to defeat Grossalia. But this is a lot stronger than that one.

Everyone on Magnolia can see the bright miniature sun. It is looking very bright even though this is a bright day with the real sun is still high in the sky. They can also feel the heat that spread from the miniature sun.

The Fairy Tail Mages who have defeated their enemies also look at it even with difficulties because it is too bright to see. They all can feel the power of this spell clearly because they are close to it.

But they also feel another strong power on the ground base of Phantom Lord. Just these 2's spell's power has made their battles look like a child plays. These 2's clash looks like the Clash of Titans for them.

"DIE, YOU DAMN BRAT!" shouts Jose as he shoots a very big dark energy beam.

"Sorry, but you can do it first. You already have a thick smell of earth, after all. So you are ready to enter a graveyard soon," says Ben while smirking.

Ben's expression suddenly turns into a very serious one and his eyes glow in golden light. He looks at the incoming dark energy beam and then throws his miniature sun at it. He focuses on controlling his miniature sun that will clash with the dark energy beam.

*BOOM*

A booming sound of the 2 spells' clashes spreads around the battlefield. A big shockwave is also generated from the clash and makes the wind blows hard. Everyone around the battlefield is protecting themselves from the impact while looking at the clash with widened eyes.

"What kind of battle is that?" asks Gray who has defeated Juvia.

"The battle of monsters," says Elfman who has defeated Sol, and now gathers with Gray & Erza who has defeated Aria.

"But who is the one that fights with the Phantom's Master?" asks Gray.

Elfman says, "He is-"

"Ben Cooper, an S-Class Mage from a small guild, Cait Shelter," says Erza, cutting Elfman's words.

"Cait Shelter? Never heard of it," says Gray.

"It is a very small guild and located deep in the forest, after all. He's also rarely taken jobs that involve people, so not many people know him. But he is very famous among the high-ranked Mages for taking difficult S-Class jobs alone. He is a lone wolf and his job completion rate is 100%," says Erza.

Gray widens his eyes in surprise because he knows it is very difficult to get a 100% job completion rate. That means one can't fail even once in their jobs and that's not an easy feat. It will get even more difficult for those who work alone.

"I thought Gildarts is the only one with that kind of feat," says Gray.

"Then you need to expand your knowledge. There are a lot of amazing people out there that you never know to exist," says Mira who suddenly appears behind them.

"Sis," says Elfman in surprise.

"The other fights have finished. There's only one battle that remains now. Let's watch it and hope it ends well," says Mira.

They all look again at the clash of the miniature sun and the dark energy beam that has got in a stalemate for some moments now. Both Ben and Jose are exerting a lot of power in their attacks. They are also very focused and it makes them get into this stalemate.

'Damn, this old guy is really strong. Even the current Cruel Sun can't break his spell. But if he can't even take this, then the Wizard Saint title will just be a joke. Fine, I will use all my remaining MP,' thinks Ben while keeping himself in the sky using a barrier as a foothold.

Ben munches some sunlight and is ready to flow all his MP into the miniature sun at once.

But suddenly, "That's enough!"

Makarov's voice suddenly is heard near the battle site. Ben looks down and sees Makarov is floating near the clash of his & Jose's spell.

"Master Makarov! You've woken up," says Ben surprisedly.

"I am, now stop your fight, I will take it over," says Makarov to Ben.

"But I'm almost done," says Ben unwantedly.

"I know, and you have my gratitude for that. But if you continue this, then you will need to take care of the aftermath with Magic Council. You should know how troublesome they are and what they can do to your guild," says Makarov.

Ben clicks his tongue before dispelling his magic and teleports to the ground. Jose also dispels his magic at the same time and smirks when he sees Makarov. Failing to defeat Ben is frustrating, but his real aim is Makarov, so the failure isn't a problem.

Ben sits on the corner while grumbling unhappily and makes Makarov asks, "Can you leave this place?"

"No way. I have obliged to your request for stopping my battle, so at least let me watch your fight," says Ben rather pissedly.

"Sigh, fine. Just don't get hurt," says Makarov.

"I will be dead already if I can't protect myself from your battle," says Ben.

Makarov can only sigh and then looks at Jose who is ready to fight him. It doesn't look fair because Jose has used a lot of his energy to fight Ben. But Makarov also has just recovered from his Magic Deficiency, so it is fair actually.

Ben looks at both old men while still grumbling unhappily. Then he remembers Roubaul and says, "Does every old man in the world exist just to annoy me?"
