4 Chapter 4: Training

*Earth Land, Ishgar, Magnolia* *October 7, Year 771* *Morning*

As I woke up, I thought 'It's been three months since my last birthday, there's only 2 months and some days before a start of a new year.'

I went out of the room to wash up and brush my teeth. I then go down to the first floor to eat breakfast with the matron which is just some bread with scrambled eggs. As we were eating breakfast, I started talking to the matron.

"Matron, I think I'm going to join Fairy tail after I've trained more on my magic"

"That's a good idea that you already know what you want to do in the future. Even though being a wizard is a dangerous job I support you in your journey as a wizard. But always know that you can always visit the orphanage when you're lonely. I hope that you'll be able to make a lot of friends in that guild" Replied the orphanage with a hint of sadness in her voice knowing that I'm about to leave the orphanage.

" I will never forget what the orphanage has done for me. I thank you for all these years for taking care of me matron."

After breakfast I went to the backyard to think of my training and how to make myself stronger. '[Totem Magic] should have more uses not just charging at the enemy and firing beams. In other animes I saw that you can use the totems to fire other elemental powers.'

As I was thinking in the backyard, It then hit me like a lightning strike from the sky' Aha! I know it must be the soul that I used to seal in my totems. Since the souls that I used is from a normal animal, the attack ended up being just pure concentrated ethernano. What if I use a magical creature's soul?'

' What if the magical creature uses an element fire for example will my totems be able to release fire attacks? Even though it's a brilliant idea I can't still implement it, since I can't beat a elemental magical creature yet without any training and stronger materials for the container.'

'I should train first before I can think of fighting some elemental magical creatures. The horned rabbit and three legged chicken is just barely considered a magical creature but they can still kick a grown teenager to death.'

'I should head into the forest first before practicing some moves of bickslow from the anime. I will ask permission from the matron first'

After I was granted permission by the matron I headed to the forest east of Magnolia. As I reach the forest, I searched along the periphery of the forest for an open clearing. I soon found a clearing with a tree stump.

I sat on the tree stump with the three totems flying around me.

krii~ krii~ (sound of totems)

"Let's see in the anime The moves that Bickslow uses is some formation like line formation, victory formation, X formation and baryon formation. The most useful for the current me and strongest is probably the line formation and baryon formation."

"The line formation in the anime is a formation where totems connect in a straight line releasing a slash like beam that is strong enough to cut buildings."

"Baryon formation is a formation where you need at least 5 totems to use. In Baryon formation the totems will begin to spin in a circle formation and release a concentrated circular beam towards the enemy. It's power is so strong that it only need one hit from baryon formation to send back sagittarius to the celestial world."

"Let's practice the line formation first because I need five totems to use baryon formation. I just need to connect the three totems in a line to practice it"

As I started to practice line formation. When I first tried to use it once it didn't work as expected it just fired a concentrated beam at the tree.

As I look at the three holes on the tree I wondered why it didn't work. 'maybe it's, because even if they are connected physically they are not connected on a spiritual level.'

Then I tried to connect the souls sealed in the totems and I got a headache. "ARGHH! this headache why is it happening??!!" I rested for an hour before the headache slowly faded out. I thought maybe my spiritual power is not enough to connect the three of them or my way of handling my spiritual power is rough causing wastage and not even connecting them properly.

As the headache completely subsided I tried again this time with only two totems as I tried it I got a bit of an headache but it's still in the manageable range. So maybe I'm indeed too rough in my usage of my spiritual power, because I had a adult's spiritual power even though I'm a kid as I got two merged spiritual power from two lives.

Now that the sealed souls are now connected I tried again the line formation with the two totems. I watched as the two totems released a 2 meter pure magic slash at a 4 meter thick tree. It sliced through the tree like paper.

Now that I know what I'm missing I continued to train until afternoon after that I go back to the orphanage with some wood to carve two more totems.

After I go back at the orphanage we ate the three legged chickens that I hunted from the forest that is bisected from me practicing my line formation. The reaction of the other's is funny though hahahahaha. ~Flashback~

As I was walking to the orphanage with the three totems carrying three bisected three legged chicken that I hunted in the forest. As I neared to the orphanage I saw a little girl that was the youngest in the orphanage walking back to the orphanage.

As she saw me she immediately saw the bisected chickens behind me. She got shocked looking at the chickens, she asked me sadly." Brother John what happened to the chicken?" "Well see Mr. Chicken got in the way of my practice and now he's you know food hahahahaha" I answered.

Then we both go back to the orphanage. After I gone back the others were also shocked by the chickens. After that we ate dinner and go the bed.

I swear I heard someone muttering something like "poor chickies" from the crowd but I don't know which one of the children said it.
