9 The Innocent and the Foolish

"Its time to go!" The old man excitedly said. As he was getting older, he knew how rare chances to make so much money existed. He usually could not go all out because he knew bandits existed. He would never sink all of his money into a single round unless he knew he was going to be safe. He originally was only going to go 50% in, just in case, however, seeing the power the boy had after yesterday convinced him otherwise. The only problem that he was facing currently is that he couldn't get the doodled monster to wake up.

"Get up already!" He said this a bit louder, however, the moment he finished his word, he felt a dark aura crawling around him, clearly coming from the only 12-year-old boy at his feet.

The boy clearly wasn't happy about having to wake up but decided to go through. Divus wasn't a motivated person after losing his mother.

However, he did have the determination to finish what he starts, always. So he woke up, and ask what he needed to do because all he knew is that he was gonna protect them.

The old man went get Carriage and Horses and let Divus wake up by himself. After he left and Divus Stood up, this popped up in his eye.

Divus didn't know who 'Vania' and 'Old Man Gale' is, however, he NEEDED to find Alfalogia, even if he needed to put on a fake persona. But the Quest Given said that he needed to look at his reflection.

He went towards the lake and found that on his face was marks that were of all colors, and looked very weird to Divas, for example, the lines on his upper lip that was black and ended in a curl.

He decided to go ask the old man why this was happening.

"Ehh, old man! Why is my face turning different colors? Is there some weird diseases that I could get from that forest?"

"What, no! There are no weird diseases that change your face around here." And then the old man turned around, and realized what the boy was talking about, "oh, no you'll be fine just wash with water and you'll be fine."

"But where did I get it from?"

Not wanting to take the blame for his mischievous daughter, he politely said, "Ummm, my granddaughter can respond to that question, I'm a bit tired now..."

Divas was confused for a bit but decided it was probably just some bugs which did this to him, and he needed ointment or something to stop it from happening again, which he could probably get from the girl. He searched around until he found a girl sleeping on a hammock.

The girl was sitting there, all defenseless and innocent, as if the world didn't have a single problem with it, as if she was a fairy on the tree his mother and him loved to be at all the time...

He didn't know how to approach her. He also knew it was time to go soon.

Then out of nowhere, a bird landed on the girl.

It stood there for a few seconds and then, screeched a loud song that went like "DREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJEEEEJEEEEEEE", that was painful to the ears.

"aHHHHAAHAhAhaaaaaHHH!!!" Screamed the girl, then going into a frenzy as if she was gonna die. All she said was that there was the boy whose face she drew on towering over her with a smiling face, Creepily. She kept running Until she finally crawled up into a ball sat on the floor, huddled up, with her hands on her head, facing away from Divus.

Alfalogia said that people are more likely to cooperate when you give a smile, but for some reason, it didn't work.

All that was going through Vania's head at the time was 'I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. That boy is gonna kill me'. She definitely shouldn't of drawn on his face out of spite because of the scare he gave her earlier.

"Ummm," tapping on Vania's shoulder, causing Vania to turn around with a scared look as if she saw the grim reaper himself. The reaper didn't know what was going on but he, being pretty oblivious to that she was scared of him, "Can I get the ointment to stop this from happening to my face again? I think that the old man told me to get it from you." Divus got returned back to his normally expressionless face. "Also can you show me who Vania and Old Man Gale is?" He didn't want to disclose to the system to her.

Vania's expression calmed down from before, realizing she overreacted. She said, "it's not a disease, and it won't occur again...".

"Oh"

Vania thought that this boy was definitely stupid. Who can't tell he's been played? This man had no reason to trick her, he could just kill her... she then took seconds to get over the fact she wasn't dying today and then realized he asked another question. "Oh yea we haven't exchanged names, my name is Vania, and my grandfather's name is Gale".

Divus surprised. The answer was so simple. He now also knew he needed to be friends with this girl. His mother said that girls were scary and he should stay away from them, but alfalogia would never know and he would have a hint. He then asked Vania why his face was colored, because that was the first task given.

"Can I ask another question?"

"Sure, Hit me," said Vania.

"How did this happen to my face?" Divus

Vania's face immediately turned red "uh so there are these things called uhh marker bugs. They're really similar to markers and at night they go around and if hey walk on your face it turns different colors as if markers were there." Then Vania gave a nervous smile, she knew that this guy was stupid maybe she could trick him more."

Divus thought this answer was reasonable. He looked at his quest and it said. He waited a few seconds to see if the system would update but it never did.

Divus thought maybe she didn't tell the truth. So he said "that's incorrect, tell me why.", Simple, Punctual, however, this scared Vania.

"I'M SORRY I LIED, I TOOK MARKERS AND COLORED YOUR FACE TO EMBARRASS YOY CAUSE YOU EMBARRASSED ME WHEN YOU SCARED ME YESTERDAY, DON'T KILL ME ME PLEASE, I'LL DO ANYTHING!" Vania's worst fears had manifested.

"DING! Part one of the Quest

Divus, who had been handed a blank check to ANYTHING to do the girl, just thought of a way to complete the quest easily. 'This must be why mother told me to stay away from girls, they lie and are very dangerous.'

Even though he thought this, Alfalogia was more important and said:

"Just become my friend and we're even"

All Vania could think was "Is this man retarded?"
