8 Meeting Mana

It's been about 3 months since Akira died by the hands of a Fairy. Even though Ares knew the cat girl for about a couple of days, it wasn't his second time he failed to protect someone from the ugly creatures.

Fairies still aren't seen as dangerous by the World Government even if many new adventurers go on Fairy related quest and don't ever come back. They were a danger to the whole world but no one was taking the danger seriously.

Ares pulled his tightened his black coat around his neck feeling the cold wind against his pale skin. He stopped in his tracks once he reached a shop called, "Weapons & Armor Repair" he took out part of a sword blade he got from a dungeon that was called, «Black Glass Blade x100 Piece»

"A-Ah! Good a-afternoon!" A timid girl who was carrying a box filled with weapons greeted Ares. "I'll be right-"

The girl wasn't paying attention to where she was going and suddenly hit her forehead on some armor that was handing. "Ah! Ah!" She groaned painfully, quickly setting the box down on the counter. Blood dripped down her forehead to the end of her chin.

Ares noted that she wasn't who usually was at the front. She must have been recently hired seeing how clumsy she is. Ares opened up his small bag and pulled out a white cloth.

"Here." He stated coldly coming closer towards the counter to hand the girl the cloth. Ares glanced at her a couple of times since she was quite good looking.

The girl has a fair complexion, calm, rich blue eyes and she is quite attractive. She has long, wavy, ashen-blonde hair and long bangs framing her forehead and face. She was wearing a lacy blue headband to was wearing cute overalls, which has one of the buckles undone along with a frilly shirt that has a small ribbon.

"Ah, thank you." The girl timidly took the cloth so she could clean off the blood. She managed to finish up without giving any problems. "Oh um so..." Before the timid girl could finish her sentence a pink haired girl walked in.

She was wearing a blacksmith uniform that looked more like a waitress one. It had a dark red top with puffed sleeves and a flared skirt of the same color, combined with a pure white apron on top of it, as well as a red ribbon atop her chest. The women's eyes were dark pink and she had freckles across her cheeks.

"Oh sorry about that Ares!" The young women apologized running over to the timid girl. "I hope Mana here didn't cause you any trouble." The young women then put her arm around Mana playfully.

Ares shook his head coldly looking away from the two girls. "She hasn't done anything to piss me off yet, Iris." He responded causing Mana to shrink back with fear. Iris laughed in response patting Mana's head.

"He's just joking!" She laughed but Mana wasn't smiling. "So what do ya need?"

"I got 100 pieces of the glass." Ares informs placing a small pouch on the counter. Mana tilts her head in confusion when she sees Iris picks it up.

"Aha well look at that! And it only took you a couple of weeks. I'm impressed!" Iris complimented as she handed it back to Ares. Her expression then turned serious "The thing is I can't make you the Berserk Sword right now. I have too many appointments and there's no way I can fit going with you to that dragon dungeon today."

"What the hell!?" Ares asked angrily. "You know it takes about 3 months for this dragon to appear and it's winter time too! The perfect time where it's in its weak state!" He sighed rubbing his temples. Mana flinched at Ares sudden outburst.

"Just because I can't go today will mean it'll disappear right away. And it's your fault for not making a proper appointment! I am a busy lady!" Iris scolded then glanced at Mana. "Oh! Mana, you can go with Ares!"

"Huh?" Mana was dumbfounded.

"Hey wait a second-" Ares was about to shut down the idea but Iris continued talking.

"Well there's no reason you can't go, Mana. You have the right skills to go and weren't you a Cleric before this job? I bet that Ares needs a healer by his side with this fight!" Iris suggested causing Mana to become flustered.

"Absolute not." Ares stated surprising Iris. "There's no way that klutz is tagging along. And I mainly work alone, you know that." Ares bit his fingernail knowing that he really needed that sword. Iris smiled knowing what was going through his mind.

"Aha it's settled then!" She cried out with laughter. "You and Mana just team up for a day!"

"Damn it!" Ares grumbled to himself knowing there was no way out.

"Wh-what...!?" Mana questioned with confusion.
