Fairune!

The new VRMMORPG Fairune! was lauded as the next best game to hit the shelves, it would be a kind of second world for people. It was pushed as a world without limits, where you could be whoever you wanted. Liam is about to embark on his own adventure in the new world, fighting monsters and finishing quests all with the hope of being the greatest swordsman in the game. Follow Liam as he grows from a novice VRMMORPG player to someone renowned throughout the world. This is my first time writing anything so it will probably be poor at first but I will try to improve as I write the chapters. Enjoy

Elite Goblin

Liam stared at the entrance to the cave and immediately went in guard remembering what happened last time.

Thankfully no ambushed happened this time, but Liam stayed guarded as he made his way towards the cave. The entrance was 4 metres high and wide but was too dark to see into, making it look like an entrance to the abyss.

Once Liam reached the cave he was surprised that he hadn't been attacked yet, making him believe he was probably just unlucky last time. With that said he still remained vigilant as he moved over the threshold into the cave proper.

The cave was still too dark to see anything clearly but now that Liam was inside he could see a very faint glow in the distance indicating light. He removed his sword from the sheath and slowly made his way over, looking out for any ambushes in the dark.

'Strange. Last time I was heard there was a goblin at the entrance. But it seems quite now' Liam was feeling a little confused with how quiet it was.

As he approached the light source, Liam could finally heard slight screeching sounds and then what came into view the closer he got was an ugly green humanoid monster about half his height. It was wearing the bare minimum to cover it's privates but completely naked otherwise with a rusty dagger in its hand.

The goblin currently had it's back to Liam, so he slowly made his way over. As soon as he was 8 metres from the goblin he decided to used <Charge>.

"Only 10 defence huh?" While mumbling too himself about the goblins defensive capability, Liam too advantage of his ambush to swing his sword twice more.

The damage done was excellent, but Liam didn't let it go to his head as he recalled what happened when he hit the goblin before.

The monster itself was stunned momentarily due to the unexpected damage and quickly turned around, swinging the dagger haphazardly as it did. As this happened Liam circled with it staying on its unarmed side and did a downward swing for another hit.

As the damage number came up the goblin started to jump in rage and was about to screech to call it's buddies over when a sword was thrust through its throat and the last of its life dimmed away.

The goblin only dropped its rusty dagger so Liam didn't bother with it and carried on through the cave, not forgetting to use his <Prospect> skill to look for the iron ore he needs.

It took only a few minutes before his skill pinged two ore veins, but before Liam could gather them he had to deal with another goblin scout. This goblin was staring towards Liam but instead of calling for friends instantly like Liam thought it would the goblin charged towards him.

He easily dispatched the goblin and left it's drops again while pulling out his pickaxe to get the iron ores in the wall.

With that out of the way Liam proceeded through the cave and managed to find 5 more pieces of ore as well as 4 more goblin scouts, pushing himself up another level. Liam kept the free points for now for a total of 10.

As Liam took a turn in the cave he came to an open room. The room was about 25 metres high and extremely wide. The walls were lined with flickering torches as well as a large amount of what appear to be crystals jutting out. The crystals gave of a slight blue glow in the torchlight giving them an ethereal feeling.

In the room itself was 8 goblins. There were 3 archers, similar to the last one Liam saw. Plus there were 2 goblins who were wielding swords with rough leather over their chest like a makeshift chest armour and also 2 goblins with staves in the hands.

[Goblin Warrior Lvl T0:6 HP: 520/520]

[Goblin Shaman Lvl T0:6 HP: 360/360]

However these were not the most dangerous in the room, for in the centre sat on a makeshift throne full of all sorts of skulls sat a hulking giant of a goblin. It was just as uhlt as its counterparts but was much bigger towering at 3 metres high. It was wearing metal armour over it's chest which was dented in places, evident that it has seen it's fair share of wear and tear. A necklace of teeth and fangs adorned it's neck along with rings made of bone on its stubby fingers. It had a ferocious look in its eyes while it stared a Liam who had just trespassed it's territory.

[Grezom - Goblin Chieftain (Elite) Lvl T0:8 HP: 1100/1100]

The goblin chieftain roared and all the other goblins in the room started charging towards Liam. He was in for a tough fight.
